Barcelona have reached a verbal agreement with Hansi Flick to become coach if Xavi departs, according to Sky Germany.
The club's current president Joan Laporta is 100% convinced by the former German boss and has lined him up to replace Xavi, should he decide to leave this summer.

@@edmund1737You don’t know the politics behind this. Laporta said that he wants Xavi to stay, only so that he can be seen as the good guy in the eyes of Barca fans. Since Xavi announced he would leave at the end of the season, Laporta took it for granted and didn’t want to double down on that and be called disrespectful to a club legend. What he didnt’t calculate is that Xavi would go back on his word and end up staying. Again he didn’t want to disrespect Xavi so he renewed his contract. It’s all being done for Laporta to be seen as good in the public eyes so that he gets elected again. He really doesn’t want Xavi to continue but I feel like its a lose-lose situation for him anyway. He either sacks Xavi and hopes that the new coach will quickly make everyone forget about the disrespect to Xavi or keeps Xavi for another season despite the mediocre performances this season. Laporta must be really scratching his head now, but its his fault for not being direct and indecisive
Laporta is an absolute clown! So disrespectful to the guy who paid out of his own pocket to come save you when you were down the ladder in the league.
