Great Video! My 2008 CLS 63 is also from Japan and its just stunning how well our friends from the east take care of these machines.

Yeah same, my 2010 W207 E550 is also importet from Japan, interieur and exterieur looks like new

I have a clk63 convertible, I bought it last year and it was registered here in the UK October 09.
I think it was the last one sold.

Very very cool! Just got a 2005 CLK55 coupe last week, also have an A209 but loving the W209 coupe chassis.
Those are extremely rare, only 247 in N. America. Amazing vehicle and most likely will be appreciating in value as people realize the rarity and how much fun they are!!!
I’m a huge fan of this car obviously I’m in the state and can’t get one ($$$) but I have a CLK550 with black series kit and the interior redone with amg brakes and rotors, my lord I love it
I am currently in the process of converting my W209 CLK55 to the M156 engine and transmission. Awesome to know it will indeed be one very rare bird!

Weird how the M156 in the CLK63 is rated at 630 Nm (465 lb⋅ft) of torque compared to the 600 Nm in the w204 C63.
So that's quite a bit more. More than the Edition 507, which produced 610 Nm, and even the w204 C63 Black Series with its 620 Nm!
well he did mention that the prototype of the m156 was originally tested in the w209 so maybe that has something to do with it?
As far as I’m aware, the production number includes black series in the coupes but I could be wrong however if this is the case means just over 600 were made

Very strange that a Japanese market car is left hand drive..
We have these in Australia but they are around the same price as the CLK55 's , maybe because of the M156 engine issues.
I live in New Zealand and was confused by this as well that I was in Japan a few years ago and was informed the reason for left-hand drive. it’s a status, symbol but on European vehicles mainly
I'll never understand why they refused to import this model to North America. Perhaps they were afraid it would cannibalize sales of more expensive E63 and CLS63?
Probably because they all ready sold the CLK63 Black Series here in the U.S.
We have them in Australia in RH drive

The curve lights are really rare on a CLK but for some reason popular in japan

Luckily we got both the cabriolet and the coupé in the C209/A209 CLK in South Africa and I'm lucky enough to own a coupé in bright silver metallic with black leather. It's a stunning car to drive that delivers stonking performance with great traction and road feel. My car is stock with the original MBUX radio unit too. I plan to keep it for a while as they are extremely rare and are starting to gain collector like status with the M156 V8 and pillar less design.

I thought that the clk63 came only in the cabriolet convertible version. And then they had the black edition which was the only way to get it in a coupe.

I had a CLK 55 AMG and currently have a Ferrari California T
2005 CLK55 has the quad exhaust and the same brakes as the 63..
you should trade your convertible for this one

Just haven't been driving it since it isn't very warm - just driving the E55. So the plastic is for avoiding flat sports to the tire as well as increasing the pressure. Who knows if it actually does anything to preserve the tires.
@@AMGmeister Thanks for the reply. I feel you, I don't drive my W211 during the winter or rainy days either, only on nice and sunny days and after it's sitting for a while I can feel flat spots. I will try to do the same and let's see if there is any difference or not, thanks.
Great car & great spec; I own a mid facelift CLK 55 Coupe, it has the looks and equipment of the 63 but the relaibilty of the M113 engine. The w209 CLK design is nearing 20years of age but still looks stunning in person esp with the windows down.

I live in nz and have one of these I paid $11k pretty crazy

@@williammorton7741 wow that’s crazy, yours must be mint then. Mine was unfortunately kept outside and pretty rough but mint once I cleaned it up. Interior was spotless which was good - but I refurbished rims, new front bumper, lot of engine work etc 👍🏼👍🏼 definitely a keeper for you - will

Hey quick question. I have a 2008 convertible clk350. I was wondering if I was able to purchase a clk63 engine and swap it with my current engine would that be wise?
No. Wise to sell your CLK350 and buy a CLK63 Convertible.

It’s not on the Japanese auction records. You can normally see about 3 months back. And I check sale prices every couple of weeks
