If you count Aldo's first WEC title win (which you should, since the WEC was essentially the UFC's precursor in those divisions), I think he was actually the youngest champion ever at 23 years, 2 months and 9 days old. Unbelievable that he's still a top contender more than 12 years later. Truly one of the GOATs of the sport.
Jose Aldo was wec champ a little younger than Jon jones and that carried into the ufc belt
Cruz was that way too I believe
To think that Aldo left his parents house at a very young age to the big city and slept in a training facility to become a Champion.. at a very young age to leave the only you know into unknown.. Nothing but Respect for Jose Aldo
Rare moment where the UFC acknowledges Barnett's title win
Surprised they did at all. He was immediately stripped for steroids.
Kinda crazy how these guys kinda dominated their title fights too. I think Newton had the closest fight but he still had the most spectacular finish here. All legends

Max is rated but still underrated at the same time. The guy's a legend and still getting better
And he just turned 30 this month! If he gets a belt again he could hold it for awhile.
@@evanlouanthony I doubt it, the competition is catching up to Max if the fight with Yair is anything to go by plus his two fights with Volkanovski. Holloway didn't hit a new level, he's been in his prime for some time now and only looks like a world beater when you allow him to build combinations off of his jab. If you take his jab away, he looks human as he is either forced to resort to throwing naked strikes or in the case of the Yair fight shoot takedowns. I'm not saying he can't win the belt again, he can but its not looking good for him when Volk has fought him twice and both times had a game-plan that worked. Lets say he fights Volk a third time and finally wins, there's going to be a fourth fight and every chance Volk comes back beats him again.

2022 🌏 UFC here we go 🥋
GSP is the real GOAT
20 ufc wins, 13 title wins, multiple weight champion, won 33 consecutive rounds, defeated more UFC champions than anyone in history, fought in the most stacked division at the time, most takedowns in ufc history, and most importantly he NEVER failed a drug test for PEDs or steroids.
GSP has the most well rounded and accomplished resume in MMA by far, andhe did it clean unlike Silva or Jones
GSP has nothing to do with the video
Jon youngest champ, has a better resume of fighters beaten, never lost, longest ufc unbeaten streak, most wins in ufc title bouts
what's also crazy is at that time period everyone regarded lhw as the most stacked, also GSP beat Micheal Bisping "to claim multiple champ status" the guy who nearly lost to the 13th ranked 46 year old, Bisping then got ko'd by another welterweight a month later, good win Bisping is a good fighter but hardly elite at that time compared to what the division had
eh his striking was kinda mid tbh love the guy tho
So wat he didnt win the title at a young age

Happy new year guys 🎊
Crazy thing is that if you count WEC (which is arguable since it was the premier FW division and the UFC absorbed it), Aldo would be the youngest champ at 23 years and approx. 2 months.
dude I think Max having a great chin really does help him a lot, I mean featherweight mostly don't have one punch knock-out power but some of them like Aldo hit really hard and can put people to sleep with a couple of shots but Max can eat all of those, he ate Aldo's shots like they're nothing and then melts them with volume, he's a great fighter but his style would fall apart without his great chin.
he also has good cardio
Carlos Newton nearly subbed Matt Hughes.
he did, they were both unconscious, Matt just happened to wake up first
That will be a record Jon will forever hold. I don’t think anyone that young will become champ again
