    What a beautiful video, I was really wondered about the gift which you get at the beach, and the beautiful nature, the beautiful flight and takeoff of flamingos, and iam proud to say that these wonderful creatures will visit every year to different places of our country India and stay for 3 to 4 months for their reproduction by the time it is winter for us and finally the will be back to America along with their new ones 😌🥰😊, thanks for all your efforts Carole 🙏

    So I suppose when it rains they have to start over with the salt piles. 😳 Beautiful footage. The beautiful flamingos were so scared of that drone! Glad you were able to capture some great video. What a lovely life you live. 💕

    What a beautiful island Inagua is. The Flamingos were amazing. The drone footage was awesome. Glad you found the Bahama Juvenile, even if it was a juvenile.

    When you see how low and completely flat an island like Inagua is you realize what an absolute mess even a weak hurricane with small storm surge could make. Those salt pans and associated roads and structures would be quickly washed out. Do you think you will be able to visit Cuba to get photos of the Bee Hummingbird, Carole?

    Hey, great video as usual. When hurricanes🌀come threw, what happens to the hummingbirds and flamingos🦩? Have they perhaps relocated to another safe area durning that time? Keep up the great work. 👍

      Hurricane Irma devastated the island in 2017. The island got a direct hit. But there are plenty of birds. These birds have been around for millions of years. They know how to survive better than we do!

    Beautiful. I wonder if my skin would also turn into shrimp colour if I would eat them all day for a certain period of time... I mean, does that work for humans too? ;) XD

      I don't think you can buy Brine Shrimp in the grocery store, but if you could you could try it and see, haha!

    Looks like the flamingos don’t like the drone…

    • @HummingbirdSpot
      @HummingbirdSpot  3 роки тому +2

      Nope. But I promise you we only used it a couple of times to get a few shots. They thought it was a hawk they had to run from!

      @@HummingbirdSpot I’m glad you got a few shots, they’re fantastic birds :) (Not as pretty as hummingbirds, but I always like flamingos 🦩)

    I live in mexico sometimes I can find white sugar but alot of times they only have unprocessed cane sugar is that okay formyh feeders?

    • @HummingbirdSpot
      @HummingbirdSpot  3 роки тому

      Actually I can't answer that for certain. Nobody can. Unprocessed sugar contains iron. But how much is too much for the hummingbirds? Nobody knows. We only know that they cannot process iron and can die from an iron storage disease if they get too much. Hummingbirds generally don't get all their nectar from one source. So your feeder might only be supplementing the flowers, so the amount of additional iron they get might be low.
      But there is no way of knowing for sure. Honestly, if I could not get white sugar I wouldn't hang feeders and I would plant tons of flowers they like.

      @@HummingbirdSpot thank you for your advice I dont want to take any chances tomorrow I will go back to the store I usually get white sugar from and see if they stocked more or I will try other stores to try and find some...I have a very small yard 4 feeders and around 12 hungry birds ( I think they are all broad billed) most are males and they fight all day long but in the morning and evenings they all seem to get along enough to feed...I have 1 feeder hanging on a limb in 1bush and the more aggresive male not only claims that feeder but thinks he owns the whole bush it is in ..anyway thank you

    A little disappointed to see your drone disturbing the flamingos, who lifted off more than once. You shouldn't be promoting bad birding etiquette just for the video Carol
