What Americans call a bodega we call a cafe.
You will also hear us talking about robots and garages.
Robots are traffic lights and a garage is a petrol station.
And just like any place where there are many different cultures you will find good and bad.
If you come from the USA and have money you will live a life of luxury compared to what you will get for the same dollar amount in the USA.
The biggest problem we have is useless politicians.
You will be welcomed with open arms by the majority as we all grew up with positive views of African Americans thanks to all the cultural exports from USA.
Our food quality is better in most respects because of the variety and the fact that we do not have huge corrupt conglomerates who care more about profits than health.
You might miss some of the choices you have when it comes to snacks and fast food brands.
You will only find Dr Pepper and the different flavoured Coke options as imports.
    SO PLEASE COME AND VISIT.
SOUTH AFRICA IN SUMMER SHOULD BE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST.

When it comes to nfrastructure, systems, nature, entertainment and the people, South Africa is arguably the best place to be, BUT...
We are only 30yrs out of apartheid, and it's legacy still lingers, so be prepared for that.
Also be careful of vultures, since every country has them, and they might try to take advantage of you being from another country and presumably "naive", but generally South Africans love you and will more likely give freely of themselves than harm or take advantage of you in any way.
Enjoy your stay, and don't leave 😅
