I'm so sorry you were bombarded with pronunciation of Willamette. The locals are sensitive to it, I was raised here and learned Oregon history in school and worked with the BLM to computerize state lands and mineral rights from microfiche for Oregon and Washington states which included homestead owners, Indian reservations and forests. Many locals do mispronounce the names too. I'm so glad your have the opportunity to see the US lands and share your travels with us all on UTube. Thank you, I really enjoy watching your chanel!

Yeah Derek, you are in beautiful Oregon.❣️👍. It reminds me of here, Vermont somewhat, but bigger. Not sure of the hills part but the trees look like here. You finally made it back to Salt Lake City, with the last darling goat. We are humans Derek, but you corrected it and now you can rest💞❤️👍
SO many people have difficulties pronouncing Willamette. Its pronounced Will-AM-it. Dont feel bad when someone from Oregon corrects you though. It kinda makes us twitch a little. Although not as bad as when some says Oregon wrong like Or-ree-gone. Lol. And I'm sure I'm biased but Oregon is the most beautiful state. We have almost all here. Rainforests (just not the tropical kinds), mountains, beaches, deserts and scrub lands. But, to me the most important, huge beautiful forests and rivers. Some of the best national forests (Mt. Hood) in my area. And the temperatures tend to be in that Goldilocks range.. not too hot and not too cold.

Don't beat yourself up about it Derek, mistakes happen and we learn from them. I'm surprised non of the goat buyers from all the other states didn't treat you to local goodies or something.
If it had been my goat that you were delivering, I personally I would have given you at least the travel costs and if I didn't have the money for the second goat I'd have got it to you ASAP its how you and Crystal do what you do, you put in all.of that time and money it wouldn't feel right. Well we live and learn. Collars on kids as other people mentioned might get eaten by the other kids in the trailer so not the best idea, and I noticed that the light was dark at some of the deliveries which can't help with identification..

Did you ever think past your kids goats you sale at such a young age that you are actually making them orphans and so young? I tell you this because like so many of us, years later we become more human and understanding of life, nature, animals, the world, it's purpose, and the individuality and different purposes of all life. When you stop to consider your ways or the paths you redirect those kid goats...well you would never think of doing that to your own family. So if you really love those animals ....what do you think they would say if you could understand and were listening. Because they are definitely speaking. That mother is heart broken. That baby is lost. You can't ever replace or put back once you've destroyed the first purposes. I've had herds of goats. I've done it all. Now, I will only let mama and baby pairs go to new homes.
Do you know that the generations of one goat and her off spring for many generations will all huddle, pack and stay together in a big herd? In other words I'll see 3-4 generations segregating out of 150 goats. They do not loose their families. They are like us. And they want to stay together. If you really love and respect these life forces, you will be open to consider what they are feeling, saying...and would you do that to your own. Thank you for listening. Hope this may help promote healing in all our creation from its oppression and bondage that the creation suffers in daily.
Your traveling delivery videos are fantastic. Beautiful scenery. Thank you, I don't thinknid be able to see all that you're seeing. The vision through the windshield is great, don't worry about that. If you can make the mistake right and your customers are satisfied, no worries. You four work so very hard to produce a great herd. Im sorry you had to make the extra trip. Im sure yall will come up with extra safeguards to prevent it from happening again. Im also very sorry for your losses this year. It's sad, but part of ranching. In scottsbluff nebr, when i had horseback trail rides we used to go for a ride by the monument, i dont know about now but in 88 you could still see the wagon ruts , its hard to imagine how deep the mud was ,to make those ruts, also, lol since youre so handy, what i have for my dogs " litter box" is i built a metal frame and a pull out tray, ( like bird cages have) and a grate, i start sliding the tray out, and use a lil shop vac to vacume the urine up. The astro turf on top , i pick up the poo.. with a little scooper ( i do have pet street pee pads wallgrens buy one het on half price. )i clean my astro turf by taking it ouside and washing it off.., as far as the goat babies? Why give her a free goat? Why not gave her option half price, or swapped babies, quarenteen at home, and just bleach down the tralor? Its like the other lady got a refund..other lady got rewarded with a free goat. I used to paint a toe nail diffent colors on my puppies, i kinda had the same thing happen, a lady TRIED to swap puppies hoping i wouldent notice..except..the one she tried to take was my only girl. Lol. The puppies all looked the same..
It amazes me what the pioneers went through to move west. From the east coast to the west. There are places I wouldn't want to have to try and climb up or down. And they took wagons loaded with all they had. Looking at our modern highways cutting across mountains and valleys. And sometimes thru them. Most of us take them for granted.
My grandma came to Oregon from Missouri on a wagon train when she was a child :)
I’m sorry you made an expensive mistake, don’t beat yourself up about it live and learn. Maybe you and Crystal can figure out a way you can tag the babies so that doesn’t happen again. Maybe a collar with their tattoo or something.
I recognized that store area as soon as you turned in. Draper! My husband and I lived in an apartment complex just down the street for the last 3 years and just moved out in October. Was sad to leave the area behind, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Would've stayed longer too if rent was so dang high everywhere!
ypu need to llive in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Montana or Idaho where the rivers roar and sail past y ou with speed and noise. when I traveled back and forth from Washington state to Tennessee and then around that area I missed the roar of a river so badly. It seems the rivers flow like cords being pulled along instead of rushing water and white heads flashing and splashing. I would go on drives while I was in Tennessee looking for rivers and streams and the closest I came to anything that even made anoise was when the flood hit and my daughters home an the end of a cul du sac was the only house that wasn't flooded, the water moved around her home which was slightly elevated above an ancient flood plain and the water was about 17 feet high, compared to the barest ooze of the itty bitty "creek" that rflowed about 100 yards away. when it flooded the flood plain filled up right up to the rim of her sloped back yard, and he water actually MOVED. Nothing is more wonderful than driving back from the central states into the mountains with snow ont hem and the rivers that make noise. Welcome to what seems to reallymake your heart beat faster, rushing water.
I agree with Montana or Idaho... they won't survive in California, Oregon, or Washington... it's too Communist and they would financially lose everything!

I have been thinking about this since the last video. I believe the moral of the story is to take someone with you on these long trips. Having someone there makes it far easier to maintain perspective by giving feedback.
