I will always remember the facial expression of the sales lady. She told me I was the first one in her career to do it that way. For me it was an essential part of the purchasing experience and I ended up buying the Ligne 2 Montparnasse with gold plating. A nice ping just belongs to a Ligne 2 lighter.
I just got a vintage gold dunhill with all the papers and case today. The price back in the 70s or 80s was $264 for the lighter. I got it for 150$ today 😁😁😁
7th, then 6th then 2nd. Love that cling. It seems clear that lacquering dulls the sound, so go for an all metal one. I have a Ligne D..... nice, but looking for a Ligne 2 to add to my collection.

The first one for me cuz it's not such an attention seeking lighter but a proper lighter at that with a noticible sound for the user. A true sigma lighter. lol
The second one was audio porn, but what's up with the rest? ST Dupont aren't able to get a consistent sound for the price they demand? That's pretty nuts to me. Zippos have the same satisfying cling sound, and they're modular on top of that.

The first one was an audio porn for me. The point is they are catering to people that prefer different pings. Not everyone likes that loud ping of the second lighter you liked.

Ligne II always have the best sounds. I highly recommend gold>silver and Gatsby silver models (reformed ones) has crazy ping sounds

2&6 sound about the same, but no 2 has slightly longer ping to my ear. I prefer both, the rest sound a bit muffled
