Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 сер 2024
- Chris weighs in on the age-old pack weight debate. Do you cut kilos with an ultralight Dyneema pack in the likes of Hyperlite Mountain Gear? Or do you stick with the 'comfort' end of the spectrum with a heavy-duty, bomb-proof pack from Mystery Ranch? These are the questions Chris has the answers to.

Just talked about these two packs with my colleague and now found this video. Great comparison and basically what we also agreed on in our conversation. Thanks!
The kangaroos running behind when bringing up hunting was hilarious!
Great ad for the Terraframe at the end there. When the Hyperlite gets tired, the Mystery Ranch carries it. Banter aside, I have the Terraframe 65 and it is an extremely comfortable pack. Dan McHale (McHale Packs) made a good point in that a heavier, more comfortable pack, is better than a lighter me that doesn’t carry well. Basically, the place to save weight should focus on the contents, not what carries them.
Great video BTW.
Great video. I’ve been curious about both those packs.
I have this Terraframe for hunting and backpacking and was contemplating getting this Hyperlite strictly for backpacking. You’ve helped me decide (for now anyways) to keep using my Terraframe for both.
6:02 ROOS IN THE BACK
Great information and detailed of look at the Mystery Ranch Terraframe 50L, I currently have the HMG 3400 and love it but your absolutely correct on wt concerns. I have an upcoming PCT through hike coming up and trying to dial in the pack. With that have you found a waist belt pocket “Pouch” for the Mystery Ranch?
Glad you found it helpful! Mystery Ranch have a 'forager pocket' attachment that attaches to the side of any Mystery Ranch waist belt www.tomsoutdoors.com.au/products/mystery-ranch-forager-pocket
this may be a place for more weight, as the comfort of the pack and the ability to have a gap, between the back and the pack....may be the deciding factors....
Did you see those two kangaroos in the background?
This is like comparing a Jeep Wrangler to a Suzuki Samurai. What's that Aussie saying? 'Some lures are made to catch more fishermen than fish.'
It's "Ultralight VS UltraRIGHT". UL packs aren't purchased, they're rented. They are judged by how many miles one can get with them on a trail where as something like a more traditional pack is judged by years. I have nothing against UL packs or gear, but let's face it, they're just for
