Your analysis is really insightful. I'm amazed that your channel includes many titles that I have planned for my channel - Movies that I was sure everyone had forgotten like "The Gods Must Be Crazy," "The Third Man," "This Beautiful Fantastic," and "War Games." I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys them. But some movies I wasn't sure how to approach at all, like McLintock. This has long been a favorite western but I've not been sure how to recommend it to others. You've done an excellent job offering an analytical perspective to the story that is very approachable and understandable. Great job on both parts 1 & 2.
Thanks, that is so nice to hear. There were a lot of mixed feelings among the movie club for Mclintock, but for me, it was a gem for sure. One suggested more Westerns to compare to. Any suggestions?
@@mwsmc I thought it might be fun to put together a clip of fatherly advise from John Wayne movies (there are great ones in McLintock and Hondo). I'm not sure if your asking for specific films that might add context to Mclintock or just to recommend other westerns of this style. Being a big fan of westerns I can tell you that in my old age, I've lost my taste for most Clint Eastwood westerns but my love has increased all the more for many John Wayne films. Favorites include, Rio Bravo, The Quiet Man, Rio Grande (these are both films with Maureen O’Hara) and Stagecoach. I also love El Dorado but it is very similar to Rio Bravo - Rio Bravo has a better romance.
