As a f2p, i would prefer a mythic fs sword since i can not make a gold or mythic crusher..but i am very close to a mythic fs sword.

@@maxgaming5353 A gold skullcrusher (11.5 gold brains) requires less rare materials than a mythic FS (9.3 gold hearts + 3 gold embers)
Gold skullcrusher is achievable - just gotta plan and be patient

I have a golden skull crusher and a mythic lvl 4 frostwing sword. I should not have tempered it, way to expensive and would have been better on other pieces, but I cant undo it and its their now. Just looking at atk, the sword is now slightly better. I also use it in my inf gear cause I dont have a proper inf mainhand and the crusher is only in my range. I wont say def is completely useless, but I prefer the attack anyways. The sword is also much better for my stats distribution, I dont need that much range atk in wow, I mostly use 424 comps by now anyways and higher cav atk is really hard to get without champ, I even have to use the dragonfist instead of the mitts to have it higher than my range.

I understand clearly what your saying, i'm also focusing that and gold cup 11/13 on my main (100% f2p )but then 95% of players especially f2p aren't patient x) . Cuz most play for get fun instantly and don't play really for the " Meta " or don't understand what it is for real .
In more I would said also, the only thing useful to astralite in a f2p mix set is mitts ( or fist ). I don't see the point on astralite frostwing really.
I am using mithyc wyrm rod on some accs where i rushed it and these 2 items are still low. Makes it a bit range heavy but does do the job overall.
Mints almost mythic, bumble helm almost gold but frostwing still purple with like 1 gold lol ( got 1 gold like at the first month of playing and nothing since ). Just cant upgrade it anywhere consistently ( never in bargains, no tycoon )

I made both FW and SC because there's nothing else worth making for those monster materials. Both are purple so I have no use for the FW. And I seem to be making more progress getting the SC to gold so it's looking like I will never use the FW.
I was wondering if you can help me out with this topic... I have never forged lvl 50/55 gears from monsters. I forged only some lvl 60 ones. Should I forge a Terror Vial, a Fear Drum and some other lvl50/55 gears?
Is there any lvl60 gear you don't recommend forging?
From a F2P perspective and keeping a mind that the most important thing should be to forge a decent mixed set:
I recommend focusing on lvl 60 equipment and for monsters that have two lvl 60 pieces to choose only one to focus on.
The only lvl 50 piece I would suggest building is a Garg drum (and to only build one) - you can complete your cav set with a blight ring and gawrilla necklace (rowdy resolve) or Book of the Dead. Since your focus should be on a mixed set, it will not be a huge deal to have a suboptimal cav set.
Vial and Seal are not better than Cups and Rings (which you should be working on for your mixed set) so no need to forge those for a Ranged and Inf set.
If you decide to go more than 1 Garg drum, you may want to have Titan Tassets in your cav set

You should compare a lower grade skullcrusher while keeping in mind the lower grades of your accessories, because 3 purple cups is equivalent to 1 gold cup if not more
Definitely more. Purple cups have 16.something att for inf and range. Gold only has 25 for each. Maybe you mean mythic?

3 purple cups is not the cost equivalent of one gold cup...if you break down the cost of the 2 extra purple cups, you get 8 gold halos and 1 purple halo...not enough for a gold cup upgrade
I think that f2p you must start with Fiery Tomahawk (mythic) when youre frostwing Greatsword is at purple you can chache it, then work on the skull crusher (Lords fun for years)
Not a good advice to spend ember on Tomahawk, since you'll stop using it as soon as you get player lvl60. I started playing 8 months ago so my experience went different... I started with a gold Tomahawk and when I got lvl 60 I could already forge a blue Skull crusher. And I have not forged Great sword yet because I have the materials only for a green one.
I'm treasuring all the embers I get, no way I'm spending 2 rares to upgrade a weapon I won't be using once I get to lvl 60...

I dont like when ppl are saying that something is bad. Everything has its own part. For your set to be good you still need atleast purple tidal titan boots in order to use skullcrusher. Otherwise ure using fw sword. Still u can fix stats with talents but it gets expensive. Titan boots and crusher is the way.

True, but being F2P, I made the conscious choice of focusing my tokens on Queen Bee and Bon App and I will use Black Wing boots on that slot, otherwise it would add years to get my target mixed set

I mean its fine focusing on building the optimal items if you aren't fighting. However if you are fighting regularly and go into fury, you need to sacrifice effiency for survival, and thats when you build a scroll and sword.
Mythic sword is marginally worse than gold crusher, but you get get so much faster its unreal. If you don't build it you're basically doomed to be much weaker than your potential for a long ass time. So the question is not which is better, but if you're willing to accept being that much weaker for years until you're able to build the gold crusher.
Unless you buy packs with frostwing chests or actively go to Frostwing MH bus , there are no reasons why your frostwing sword should be 2 grades above your skull crusher
Mythic Greatsword is roughly 9.5 gold hearts (plus embers)
Gold Skull crusher is roughly 12 gold mutated brains
Both chests give about the same drop rates for rares
Both are only found in one Labryrinth rotation
Both are found in "interesting" hell events rewards
You get green mutated brains from login gifts (no FW hearts)
Mutated brains are often in Bargain Store rewards
Mutated Brains are included in Monstrous Crate and Chests (extravaganza and Lords Cup rewards)
I'd say at the most if you play this game naturally (no packing, no bussing, no choosing chests from one monster vs the other), you should get the FW mythic sword a couple months before getting the skullcrusher to gold -
If you play optimally, you'll get the skullcrusher and skip FW greatsword

Regarding the stats you are spot on, but Im not agreeing on how fast you will progress the 2 items.
I'm a low spender and before I even got my skullcrusher to gold I had already been able to build a 2nd mythic greatsword for at least 6 months or so..
And no, i haven't bought any frosting packs to get ahead, only packs with mixed chests.
And to be fair I built one burning scroll, but even without that one I would have had my mythic greatsword for well over a year before I got the skullcrusher to gold.
It all comes down to how lucky you are with drops, but it's more than twice as much brains needed to upgrade the crusher compared to how many hearts needed for the greatsword..
I have four F2P accounts ranging between 2 and 4 years of gameplay. I have 4 purple skullcrusher and 4 purple greatsword. If you naturally grow them through monster hunt drops, labyrinth, daily gits ...etc.. you should always be either one grade below or at the same grade.
Reasons that can skew this over to one item or the other : GF rewards if you focus one over the other and going to monster hunt bus for a specific monster.
For P2P : buyng certain packs can skew this to one or the other
At the end of the day, building a sub par accessory (burning scroll) means you will have a subpar main hand (greatsword)

I agree that Skull crusher 100% is better but its harder to make especially if your f2p the best grade you will reach for most f2p players is purple grade for crusher. Most F2P players have purple>gold FW Sword even mythic and many use Burning Scroll so mats would be a problem. FW Sword best friend of F2p players Just a opinion I great vid!
I understand this and my point remains. I have 4 F2P accounts with purple skull crusher (between 2-4 years of gameplay). It's doable and also optimal ;)
Would be so good once you made it gold, woukd definitely used it than a mythic sword . I am also curious about the def 5% = 1% Army Atk hope we find out!

Brains are available in login gifts, hearts are not. I think that's the major difference, otherwise they have roughly the same drop rate from chests (5.5% vs 6%)

Skullcrusher just a little better at mythic grade rather than Frostwing. But why many is making frostwing is because astraliting a frostwing and getting the stats is way better than the skullcrusher astraliting. The cost to astralite a skullcrusher isn't really worth it. The cost vs the stats makes Frostwing worth it for many players even p2p.
I'm sorry bud, but this is wrong. Mythic skullcrusher is way better than frostwing greatsword. Even a +12 tempered Greatsword has lower stats than a mythic Skullcrusher... please save your astralite for something else...

Mythic Skull is slightly better than Mythic Frostwing, But astraliting the Skull to +12 or even less is much more expensive than Astraliting a Mythic Frostwing, Hence why many astralites a Frostwing to +12 cheap which becomes much better than mythic skullcrusher

FW Sword + 12 = 105 ATT total
Mythic Skull no temper = 105 ATT total + 35 INF DEF
Skull is not slightly better... it's WAY better ;)
