Potato Storage Hack: Keep Them Fresh for Months

I wanted to store potatoes and carrots in my basement but the temperature and humidity fluctuate too much so after some experimenting I came up with this idea.
So far it is working well to keep potatoes fresh for over 6 months. I believe it will work with carrots as well.
