Shane and Melody, you two are awesome and quite hilarious! Lol! I always look forward to seeing your videos because they are always enchanting, informative, enjoyable and real. The humor you both display in your vids adds greatly to the overall experience. Thank you both! May GOD bless you and your family always.
Beautiful time to go there. Fall time rules in Appalachia. You both make me smile from start to finish. Always refreshing to watch. Keep going you both.
West Jefferson! My mom had a lot of family there so we went once a year for “decoration day”, preaching and music, family graveyard, covered dishes outside.
I used to live up in Boone till 10 years ago, and would go down to West Jefferson now and then. The place has really blossomed! Which makes me happy, it's a great little town.
By goodness you got to visit on a slow day, next is going on out to Lansing into Whitetop, back down the curving mountain road of 58,past the park entrance to Rugby on down to Volney. Or go across the mountain to Konnarock, where Eleanor Rosavelt visited.
I live west Jefferson and never knew was bathrooms hiding in the snow painting lol. Down town busy everyday packed on Saturday. And every third Saturday we have a Cruz in car show at 5
Enjoyed this ! West Jefferson is decked out for the autumn season! Love all the beautiful murals! Autumn leaves starting to look very beautiful. This is probably the peak weekend, because next week going to be a hard freeze and north wind blowing. Thanks you 2...stay safe always...God bless....🙏❤
West Jefferson is another town where I had customers when selling auto body shop products in VA, WV, and NC. This is a beautiful town with fine people. Thanks for bringing me so many good memories Melody & Shane!
The Virginia Creeper, was a train on a branch of the Norfolk & Western Railroad was photographed by famous photographer O. Winston Link back in the 50s. One of his most famous pictures was titled "Odl Maud", aw horse drawn pallet at the station as the train arrived. Maud was the horse. When I saw that muriel it reminded me of it. I believe the right of way is a walking path now.
Thanks for the tour. I delivered to the Leviton plant a couple of times, and then had to be on my way somewhere else. Never had a chance to explore the town.
Really enjoy y’all’s videos! Keep up the great work. The mural of the creeper is painted on my aunts old store and the family property is close to the devils staircase. Brought back some memories thank you.
Melody, you are such a hoot!! Funny and awesome!! Love your accent. I always look for your vidoes wondering where in the world you and your handsome husband are to going to visit. You visit such interesting places. West Jeffersonville is a beautiful place that I visited many many times when I lived in Winston-Salem. Nice and friendly people. Glad to watch this up-to-date video on West Jeffersonville since I have not be able to visit for. a few years. Take care sweet folks!!
Probably the "best kept secret town in western NC". Everyone knows about Asheville and Boone. Asheville is a fortune with lots of homeless. Boone is very pricy as well. Highlands and Black Mountain are gorgeous but off the charts expensive. But West Jefferson remains an under the radar ADORABLE little clean, thriving mountain town!
I'm about 3 1/2 minutes into the video. Right now I'm wondering if there's a Jefferson to go with West Jefferson, or if there's an East Jefferson. We have a West Milford, up in Passaic County, but there's no Milford or East Milford. I thought it was pretty funny, Melody saying "Stop, stop, stop sign, stop..." We have a lot of 4-way stops around here, but they are usually treated as yield signs, meaning most people don't stop unless they feel they have to. They always get away with it too. We had a local art museum right here in Atlantic County, but a couple years ago the local college bought it, supposedly because it was in financial trouble or something. but as soon as they bought it they promptly shut it down. No one seems to know where all the art went. I think they've got it in storage somewhere. I love that Presbyterian church, and I'd be disappointed too, about the doughnut shop being closed! I love all those murals. I get pictures of every mural I see. I can't help it. So that's a really cool town, and it seems like it's a lot bigger than it is. Thanks, Barry
I fell in love with this place so much that I bought property there and it has become my permanent home away from home.
Thank you,for sharing the town I live in you make me appreciate the life I get to live here more! Great video, God bless!
That’s awesome, Kevin, God bless you too
I grew up in Wilkes Co & spent a lot if time in Ashe Co. Love the town, the history, the people & the bluegrass & old time music there!

I lived in west jefferson in 1954. Close to the train station turn around. Old cemetery next to our home. I wonder if it all is still there.
Thanks for the tour. I delivered to the Leviton plant a couple of times, and then had to be on my way somewhere else. Never had a chance to explore the town.

We hope to get there someday soon
Recent shooting in NC leaves 5 people dead. Be careful down there, Shane & Melody!
Where that happened is over 3 hour drive from us.
@@sandradee8880 I had a feeling it probably wasn't' close by, but just incase, wanted to let them know we're thinking about them.
OMG - I’m only half way through the video and I want to move there…….😂
Come on down lol
I think you'll find the phrase is ''slug bug'' not ''punch bug'' when you see a VW beetle. Lol
No they say punch bug here lol
Yeah we say punch bug here! Lol must be a regional thing! - Melody
