This goes hard . One question why the texturs on the rover looks like there are stuck at low LOD level they are way to "pixelated " related to be made . U can see this in video games if the LOD switch the mesh of the model but got stuck at the lower LOD of texture . I will soon start to learn blender so I may be of more help
The model of Curiosity I got is from the NASA website (nasa3d.arc.nasa.gov/models) and the textures are all low res. The entire model only has 5 textures at 1024x1024 each. So at closeup they look bad. Whenever you see Curiosity with good hi-res textures, that comes either from a video or image that NASA itself made. Not sure why they don't have high res textures on their public models. Good to hear from you. I watched you're live stream the other day and it reminded of the the time when I worked for a hardware company and I had constantly place order to DigiKey to get chips and sensors.
@@ReflectiveLayerFilm I think its low res due to 2 factors the model was made with High res rendering in mind because after looking at he UV its not made for low res , there is UV optimazationg and packing that is done in gaming so u get gg result with 1k lets along 9 files . So who ever made these is use to VFX pipeline not Gaming so they cant get maximum quality out of minimum texture res plus it was downres for web playback that is why is so low quality . image4 of it was WTF its automatic UV with no effort that is why it looks so low quality they must have made huge maps for rendering . DIGI key was my first International import and I learend a lot
It's really cool! I should have started with the first episode 😄
A new Free Return Trajectory is a treat. Looking forward to the next one!
