Breadsall Station Derbyshire Then and Now

Breadsall Station was on the The Friar Gate Line. Two photos taken, first one Circa 1968 not sure of the photographer and one taken by me Peter Hallford in 2018. I have put the two together to give a Now and Then view of what it was like back in the 60's. Many people used to go on holiday to the East coast on the Train.

Hi there is a small road which the barrier was across in the 1960’s photo but there was a “Made up” barrier when I took the modern photo. The only thing that was still present was the concrete post at the end of the gate, which I based my whole photograph on.

Heartbreakingly poignant, what a terrible waste of an amenity. It is now a foot/cycle path which is better than nothing I suppose.
