We've just handed over the biggest warehouse line marking project ‪@LineStriping.Expert‬
This was a mammoth installation and took 4 weeks to complete!
Here's my complete process for indoor lines:
1.Shotblast / grind etc depending on the area and desired finish (walkways / filled in areas etc).
2.scrape any loose bits with a long handled scraper - i tend to go over the full line.
3. run a magnet brush over the area to remove any spent shot
4. Vacuum the area thoroughly. I also run a blower over it after vacuuming to remove any last bits of dust etc.
5. Tape out using a high quality tape like the 48mm 3m 101E (again, my favourite)
6. Press the tape firmly down with a roller. This will stop any paint seeping underneath / bleed.
7. Paint your first coat. Paint it lightly and don't worry about blemishes. If you go too thick it won't cure properly so go light!
8. Wait for the first coat to fully cure. (approx 30 mins for HS).
9. Paint the second coat - again go light on the painting. this should smooth over the primary coat and leave a clean looking finish.
10. Wait for the second coat to dry. (approx 30 mins for HS).
11. Seal in using the Geveko Matt sealer - it's very potent so make sure the area is well ventilated. Curing time is approx 5-10 mins.
12. Peel up the tape and bin accordingly.
