Wow this looks Fantastic!! I'm 51 years old and still consider myself to be a Mod. Ever since I saw Quadrophenia in the early 80's I fell in love with the scene and it has never left my heart and soul. I've had several scooters in my life and now ride a GTS 300 that I Moded up myself with all the extra mirrors ( 14 in total ), Extra lights on the front, Air horns, Chrome crash bars, Stickers of the Who and targets, arrows, chequered strips etc. It took me many hours and 4 attempts to get the "look" that I was satisfied with. A real head turner and I could ride all day around South London and not see another even remotely similar. I've took most of the Bling off for the winter because I use it to commute to work down the M23 Motorway and with all that stuff on just wouldn't be practical. I'll probably put back on April/May time when the weather improves. Some people tell me that I am just trying to relive my lost youth. And I just tell them that I'm not reliving anything because I haven't stopped being into this scene since I was a teenager, so it's just a continuation. I was basically born 25 years too late and should have been 18 in '64.
I think it's awesome
how I wish I lived closer to your shop
I can only imagine what we could do together
this is really special I appreciate that Mike let you share it with us as well
well done
Great bike! Great job Robot!! But you gotta convince Mike to hook up dem horns!! Seeing that baby coming down the road then...blasting the horns!!
We'd love to hear that too!
Love it! That’s what scootering is all about! Putting your stamp on your own machine! Great Job Robot! 👍
You got that right!
Excellent work. Love the part about getting into a grove with the project.
This clip is Designer approved 🛵❤️🤖
Yes! Thank you!
Well done Robot it looks great. I don't know if there ever were any Mods in America but at 55 years later its never too late. I started out on Lambretta's, had a couple of Vespa's before leaving the Mod scene and getting a car. Almost ten years ago I took it up again but I want the effortlessness and reliability of a modern scooter so I have a Vespa GTS, Its got 68 on the plate so that fits. No extra mirrors or lights but lots of chrome, a checkered flag decal as a nod to my old GP Lambretta an RAF roundel. Keep up the good work Robert and remember, Mod, its a way of life, lol!
Keep the Faith James.
Down in a tube station at midnight... whoah a ohhh 😎
I like it. Being a Who fan. Thanks Robot!
Fair play, its awesome.....giving me ideas for my new GTS which I have just ordered back her in the UK.
Love the look! Well done Robot!
Awesome job. I put mod imagery like a roundel and a Union Jack on my Vespa. Now after seeing that, I'm going to go the next step and add horns, mirrors, etc. 'You really got me going, you got me so I don't know what I', doing.....'
Awesome, have fun!
I see what ya done there! 👌
The Brighton '64 Special Edition. Awesome work, guys!
So classy and nice💚
Looks awesome robot you are a magician
Good to go! I love it.
Looks great!
Great job!😀
Are the horns just for show?? If not I would’ve loved to hear em..
Just for show on this one, but they could be hooked up. Would love to hear that too!
A lot different Vespa Mr. Robot 😎🛵
I purchased more parts from scooter west for my 07 Piaggio mp3! Mr. Robot
Looks great
Thanks!
The checker with Faco rear crash bars is a good idea
Frigging awesome
Love it ❤️
Nice customs ride...
Thanks!
fine young canibals video. good thing scooter culture theme. cool tunes and mods.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great! I want to add the back lights (signals).
Go for it!
This is amazing, would love to give my GTS the treatment, Lambretta boy originally but now of an age where I need my comfort and reliability. Great job Robot.
Thanks....Go for it!
Go on go for it. You only live once!!
If I get a Gts, I'd like to add a GTV front fender with the light on it. That would be functional and so dope.
Omg, its the Fiaggio Mod of the GTA V
Its a green relax ???
💙
Great build Robot! Like the new individual style. Yes, it all started with the classic Vespas, but why not tying the old fashion revamped on the new scooters?!
now i know what to do with my gts300...👍
Go for it!
I got to have everything functioning. Horns that are only for looks and a spare tire only for looks and the array of mirrors aren't my style. But, that's ok. It's his style and that's cool. He wants a certain look and I get it. What I did like is the chrome add on's. The center and side stands being chrome looks great. The additional lights,,,,,,,,well the jury is still out on that. Don't get me wrong. I like bling. But the mirrors and additional headlight is a bit much, even for me. It won't be mixed up with any other scooter parked in front of the cafe that's for sure. Lol
Love the colour, what is it..
Verde Relax
hell yah robot, shes a beauty!
OFF THE HOOK ❤️🙌👌🔥
Look in rear view side mirror.. Holy Crap there's 5 cars coming at me in that lane!
If the customer is happy, then that’s what matters, but it’s not my cup of tea, ol’ chap!
Quadrophenia didnt start the MOD scene it revived it after it died off
Very nice 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
Robot,no offence, when the mod scene came back in 1979,i was a biker, and got some pretty much a bad image, cuz if these mods...yes,been here in the UK,aint nice.
Im open minded and if that's the owners choice then good on them. Ride and custom them as you want but im sorry mate but a twist and go will never be a proper mod scoot you can never beat the classics.
Luna park 🤡
so very uncool, to let a custom shop build your mod vespa, very uncool
Very cool
Scooter dealers have been offering this service for decades and plenty of Mods in 60s London would’ve bought “Dealer Specials” from the likes of Eddie Grimstead. Anyways it’s not like the customer just bought an off the shelf Mod scooter, as he specified exactly how he wanted it look and what accessories etc he wanted. It’s really no different to Mods going to the tailor to order a bespoke suit etc. Most Mods I know aren’t too handy with cutting patterns , tailors chalk or needle and thread , so they take their ideas to the tailor, who has the skill and finesse to turn their ideas into a beautiful , well fitting piece of couture.
In the same way, if you’re not mechanically / engineering inclined, you apply the same principles to your scooter.... the creative inspiration still comes from the individual.
@@ossian1937 You have a point with the tailor, and maybe I should assume, that the customer wanted a bike that reflects that scooter from the mod era without beeing itself part of that culture, a cultural quotation on two wheels. And to get this reference right, he went to the best to actualize his ideas and then I get it. Anyhow, a "mod" vespa in this time and place can allways only be a statement to that era and never being the original itself, and so changes in implementation are inevitable. I shouldn't be so harsh with my first impulse.
@@oldcrow187 I really like that quote of yours; “He went to the best to actualise his ideas”. That in itself is very Mod! 😎
You’re right though in that with this scooter and all things regarding the aesthetic of “ Mod”,it can only ever be a reflective interpretation of the original era.. However in these curious and dangerous times in which we live ,a little bit of familiar certainty can be quite grounding... no bad thing in my humble opinion., but then I’ve always been retro and have shamelessly plundered from the past in terms of music and aesthetics! 😁
Anyway thank you very much for your kind and considered reply... it’s a rare thing on the internet these days and much appreciated. 😃
Incredibly cool. Someone has to keep mod culture alive!
Embarrassing
