CGC's dark secret. The case protects against water damage but not heat. I bought a CGC book which was correctly identified as having color touch on the spine, but when I opened the case and removed the book I found that the heat of being inside the case caused the color touch to bleed into the inside pages.
@@SwarmofComics ...I don't know if I'd go that far, but looking at it again, it's a very good piece, maybe one of the last ones from Byrne I'd call "great".
@@dylanesque27it's not the worst thing ever. The art is fine. But if you are putting out the first issue of a regular series of, at the time the most POPULAR comic character in existence, you think THAT was the cover to go with? And welcome to my lesson in run-on sentences.
Congrats on the great grades makes me wanna grade my amazing Spider-Man books I grew up around the New England comics as well my local comic book store
Amazing you really got a kind grader. I once submitted 10 books with no defects no spine tics sharp corners all received 9.6 none reached a 9.8. No grader notes.
That is so f*cking harsh...I feel that pain in my soul. It's the feeling of helplessness that sucks. Like that ASM 194 in the last video that got a 7.0. Even with a couple of fingerprints it's EASILY at least an 8.0. But not worth cracking and resubmitting. So now every time I look at it I don't enjoy it, I think how I was ripped off. It's the mixed blessing of slabbing. Cheers!
Ha! you are right! There were a couple of books I wrote off during recording, then realized they were still a good chunk of change! I should have put values up, but I got lazy. Too much time wasted on the thumbnail 🤣 Thanks for checking out the vids!🤟
Nice grades! 👍
Thank you! I appreciate you guys letting me share them with you. It's been fun so far. Cheers and thanks for watching!
It's always awesome when you under grade your books! When they come back higher is a great surprise.
And I SWEAR I'm not under-grading just so I can act surprised at the higher grade! 😅
@@SwarmofComics LOL no one ever gets upset at under grading a book.

Holy SHIT, that sucks!! What book was it, if you didn't mind sharing?
Beautiful submission!!
Thank you! I appreciate you checking out the video! 🤟
"This Buscema cover is lame" is a WILD take
Tell me that back cover isn't FAR superior tho, fam?

Some great personal collection books! Looks like we may have collected around the same time, congrats on the grades!
That means a lot, thank you! And thank you for watching! That period between '82 and '92 was the absolute collecting peak. *cue the nostalgic music*

Oh that's awesome! I was a Quincy store patron for a very long time! Which store did you go to?
Definitely dig those ASM's out and get them graded!
congrats on the nm 98! I have a signed copy 9.6 but I’ve been thinking about sending it to cgc for a press see if I get that 9.8
I think it's worth the risk for that grade bump. Go for it and if you do, let me know how it goes!
This series has me thinking about grading some of my copies for trade bait.
I say get it done!!
