I saw this band in Columbus, OH. Also, I just found Jazz3+ channel about a week ago and he's/they're killin' it! Can't wait to start watching the Gateway band.
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Mekhi Gary I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Joe Farrell, Billy Cobham, Joe Beck, early Stanley Clarke, John McLaughlin . . . here you go back the path and find their ancestors in a compendium one stll can cal "Fusion-music" today; anybody got a problem with that?? Even more so on "Ultrahang".
4/4 x 4 + 1/8= 33/8. Very useful counting method suggested by remijazz: count three bars of 4/4 and count the final bar as a 'false' 5/4 (leave out an eighth note on the last beat).
You're right, the cycle is a 17/8, but I prefer think it like 3 bars in 4/4 and one bar in 5/4, it make improvisation really easier, at least in my head :-)
Good advice Remi but you should be cautious about calling that last bar a bar of 5/4 since it is actually a false 5/4 (I know you know this). And I made an error- I left out a bar of 4/4- it's actually 33/8.
Terence Blanchard, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, they all wanted Lionel Loueke in their bands, but the problem with him is that he tends to be a scene stealer. He’s so unique and innovative in rhythm, phrasing, chording, and tone that he stands out whoever he plays with. Moreover, he’s also a good vocalist - kinda like a guitarist’s answer to Bobby McFerrin. Yes, Lionel Loueke is a total package of music. Amazing talent!
I like his playing, it complements the music well, but his tone leaves much to be desired. I'd love to hear him through a real tube amp that's dialed in. But tube amps are instruments unto themselves and if you don't understand how to make them work for you, then even they would be of little use.
@@Cambodia69 I play on a mono canal tube amp, never used a kemper. I just read lot of stuff about musician moving to kemper because it's convenient to carry and sound the same on stage for most "non-musician" public
is there a religion or cult where is believed that we live several times so we can listen to all the music we want to...?! i wanna be a believer...lol...im pretty sure im gonna die without listening to everything i should could or want to...
What an absoluty pleasure listening to this.... several times now! Truly ...all time!

whats the time signute for the first song... reallystruggling with this time...please help...
I think it's 25/8 ... divided 7/4, 4/4, 3/8 maybe? Not sure about how they're thinking about it.
The bass solo seems to shift to 7/8 7/8 7/8 4/8
for me sounds like 7/8 6/8
25...7/7/7/7/4, i felt
@felix this one is correct I think
Loueke!

4/4 + 1/8 doesn't make 17/4. 9/8 at best.

21:30
Kind of weather report - steps ahead vibes....
Is that a ring modulator on the guitar around 20:07 ?
indeed, with what may be a wha or a whammy i guess
🤯 10:30
41:23 love letter to frank zappa
17/8 crazy? One bar of 8 and the next of 9, However you want to slice it! Hip tune though.
The theme in pentatonic scale (from 2:16 m.) sounds close to Joshua Redman's "Indonesia" (Back East, 2007) or am I wrong? Nothing new...
Too bad the sound is in *mono*... :/
This would be an out of this world experience if the sound would be in stereo.
40 people give up their instrument practice
Loistava bändi. Näin ja koin Tampereella viikonvaihteessa.
great!

@@Cambodia69 Kemper is the go-to for almost every touring musician now, it's just so practical
@@rosettag7292 If that's what inspires and touches you on a visceral level, then please, by all means, do continue to enjoy your "practical" tones.

One of the best Holland albums out there, live. Aziza is the shit. Every time Holland and Potter meet, something amazing necessarily has to be born.
Orjazzmic

Que se puede pedir más???? Buena música, buenos músicos y grandes improvisadores!!!
un super groupe de jazz ,imprégné d'un son de fusion démoniaque ,çà vous transpose dans un univers musical de groove diabolique !!
This band is my favorite Holland's band same as one with Kevin Eubanks and Marvin Smith.
The video gets way out of sync about halfway through. It's a shame, because I can barely follow what Eric's doing anyway.
GREAT MUSIC - Happy Birthday Dave!
Ils ont un talent fou, ce n'est pas un scoop, mais il faut le dire ça fait du bien.
One of the best online concerts I've seen. WOW!
