I saw the Malarchuk injury for the first time the other day. I actually thought I watch somebody die. Was glad to see he survived, but man that was hard to watch.

    • @sarahprince2412

That really WAS the worst injury compared to all these clips. And no, we can't include players who unfortunately died because that's a whole different topic. I'm just referring to players that had these types of injuries and survived. I'm not trying to take away from these players because you never want to see a player hurt(even if it is someone you dislike) but Malarchuk could have literally DIED on that ice if that trainer wasn't there. On top of that he tried to commit suicide(thank God he didn't succeed) many years later. I just felt so bad for him after going through that shit. So these are bad but no one takes the cake yet(hopefully we WON'T ever get a repeat of that) on Malarchuk's injury.

In a way you sort of did. If that trainer didn’t stick his fingers in the Gash and hold his jugular closed he wouldn’t have made it to the ambulance. We would’ve watched him ushered off the ice never to be seen again.

That may come in a few years. I know that in the NFL, there is a test for a new helmet type protection. Looks like a pillow type protection. Off looking, but hey, if you can cut down concussions by 90%, I think that player will take the “looking funny” helmets.

Sadly, a hockey player has now passed away due to being cut in the neck by another player. He was playing a game in the UK when the other player fell and in turn cut the with his skate right in the neck. Some of the hockey players are now starting to wear neck guards. He fell forward and kicked the back of my thigh as he fell forward. Luckily he caught more of my pant than my leg, but enough to make me bleed.
