      I wish I never stopped doing it. I gave up when I reached the yellow belt. Once you start doing something you should go until the end. I regret that I stopped doing karate.

      you clearly don't understand karate. boxe is one thing, karate is another, judo is another, muay thai is another, and so the list goes... karate is about precision and technique, the punches and kicks have to hit the adversary, but you are not supposed to hurt him. but, still, the karatekas are very strong, they can kick or punch you very hard. it's all about technique and focus.

    • @jamesmackenzie3111
      @jamesmackenzie3111 8 років тому +1

      i clearly don't want to understand a sport that focuses on one strike in 3 minutes then cheer about it for another 5 minutes. Your hackneyed platitudes about different sports have done nothing to sway my view. In boxing the aim is to score points and thereby win. Hurting someone is a byproduct of that process. People can read into that what they wish.

    • @netob4758

      It's not just a sport. It's a martial art.

      I know about this game (black belt holder) and, frankly, James is right. Both of these players are bad. The blue chick does not even attempt to score or hustle and corner her opponent; and the red chick is too stiff and knows nothing but throwing that one punch. Modern karate is not designed for street fighting or real combat situations, but good Karate players always imagine they are in a fight for their lives and keep their focus on the opponent 100% at all times. Attacks should never be with only one move. Good players might throw one or two just to get close enough for the third attack to be effective and always have a contingency plan in case that failed.

      Better take it as a sport not street fight as it is a sport and there gotta be some rues and restrictions.

      I'm a practitioner of traditional karate and i don't bounce around much but i stay on the balls of my feet and im way more offensive than this there's a time to be defensive and a time to be offensive not defensive 100% of the time

  • @KillerBill1953
    @KillerBill1953 8 років тому

    For anyone who really believes kumite is fighting, this pathetic exhibition should disabuse you of that notion. If these are the finalists, the rest must have been really poor.

    • @onray1000
      @onray1000 8 років тому +5

      It is sport fighting, not street fighting. If you want to see people kill each other, go watch MMA. One mistake could cost them the win, that is why they are taking time to go for the point.

    • @KillerBill1953
      @KillerBill1953 8 років тому +2

      I don't particularly want to see people kill each other. I'm all about not fighting if it can be avoided. I also don't believe that MMA, BJJ, or any other sport martial art is "the best" when it comes to street survival. If it has rules, rounds, a referee, or a ring, it is sport fighting. In MMA all the things which would allow you to finish a fight quickly, are banned. Look at the rule book. I was once told at a seminar, by someone who should know, "If you want to know what to do in a real self-defence situation, look at the MMA rule book and do all the things that are fouls".
      BJJ seems to be mainly about control or submissions, neither is relevant if some moron attacks you with intent.
      What you do in training is what you will do in a street fight. Think about that. MMA is not about killing anybody, it is about making money.

    this is horrible. both idiots are bouncing at a very predictable rate. very easy to time them and to take them out. bad fighters.
