Well it's easy to understand why. Worker Bees and Queen Bees are both female. Only the drones are male and are unnecessary to the hive (all they do is impregnate the queen and then sit on their ass... sounds like a man, ay? Useless.). But women put more emotion into everything, both positive and negative. Women are sensitive to others until the point where they severely don't like you. An easy way to think of this is when a man hit's a man, the other man hits back and their done. When a woman hit's a woman, the other woman gets back at her 10 fold... then the original women gets back at that 10 fold, etc. etc. goes on and on. This is what strong emotions do. So when the Queen Bee doesn't fit the lifestyle of the hive, the Worker bees attack her over and over beyond the point of death. It's sad, but follow the stereotypes and they tend to be true.

Great video . You have more energy than I do, to be in your yard so much to catch these things. I work nights come home and try to get 5 -6 hours of sleep. Hit the yard, dinner and then try for 2 hours of sleep before getting ready and off to work. But only 3 more years before I can retire and enjoy my bees more. I've never done it before, always put her in a cage and introduced her. Fingers crossed.
Bees are amazing creatures. Everything about them is astonishing imo. Down to how good propolis, royal jelly etc is but also how a colony works. each bee has a role, its always amazed me. Ive always wanted to start beekeeping.

In a honey colony ,there are three types of 🐝 bees . 1)Queen (only one in a colony) 2)Workers(nearly thousand) 3)Drone(few hundreds) Let's see what's their role in a colony. Queen is a perfect fertile female and lay eggs over it's life time.Drone is the fertile male which is used for mating with queens . After a single mating the drone dies. The workers are infertile female .They go for 🍯 honey collection. The queen controls the colony by secreting queen substance (a hormone). The queen lay two types of eggs . Fertile and infertile .The larva are feed with royal jelly (a substance secrete by worker bee) 🐝 for 2 days .After that it is feed with bee bread (mixture of pollen grains and honey). The fertile eggs feed with royal jelly for whole of its larva stage becomes queen . And others feed with bee bread becomes workers .And then the infertile eggs becomes drones.

That is really interesting I did not know that you can reintroduce Queens to different hives and things like that I'm doing my research to have a little tiny Hive not a big giant one but thanks for sharing I do appreciate this video
Thank you very much for these perfect examples. This information came just in time for me! In two days I am going to introduce a new queen to one of my hives (hopelessly queenless one) for the first time in my life... 😳 Hopefully it will work well, and the little colony will be saved! Thank you again for such great education material!
Dave, two things. The first swarm you showed us, what do you need to do with it. Second, what do you need to do with the first queen you showed on the brick? And third, what will you do with the hive that killed their queen?
That was three things. I dunno about number one, what he could do is integrate it with an existing hive/nuc as long as there is only one Queen reigning (and that being the hive/nuc). He could also put it in a nuc box and set it up. #2, an accepted Queen is that hive/nuc's laying and reigning Queen. She should go into the colony she has been accepted to. As for the hive that killed their Queen, they will have made a new Queen (via Royal cell in a Supercedure cell form) to replace her. Either he can kill the replacement cells and requeen them with another Queen or wait for the in bred Queen to mate and take over.
Good shots! I just had to introduce a new queen to one of my hives. I came back to your video to see how their intentions were...I'm kind of thinking they weren't so thrilled to see her. I guess we will see in a few days!
I'm no bug/bee expert, but from raising other animals, seen them attack their own kin, and it was due to the smell being completely different. Using special feramone (sorry for spelling) products which did several things including making the animals all smell alike, defused the issue. It's very well possible, the queen that came from another hive, had chemical, odor, smell that was offending to the hive she was introduced to. Even possible the hive she originally came from, could have had a fight with the one she was introduced to, and the scent she carried was enough to trigger hostilities.
Than you so much for all of these informations. I’m also amused by the skill you have, handling frames with one hand and taking videos with another. Got to say it’s very difficult cause I tried it myself. Also have a question for you, The first year the beekeeping is kinda of a hobby for me but I like to make it a serious business. Would you please make another video regarding apiary logistics and if there any government grants for starting apiary business? I really appreciate your time and effort you put into all of these videos and for bees. Thanks!

I am allergic to bee stings. I know they’re amazing insects and vital to humans. I wouldn’t go poke the bear just for the hell of it. He obviously knows what he’s doing but I can’t help but cringe.
I love your videos thank you. I was going to buy queens off of you this year until I saw that you would not guarantee delivery. I couldn't bring myself to buy bees that could show up dead.
For some reason, your videos popped into my recommendations. I'm bloody terrified of bees. I'm so terrified of bees that when I was younger I was terrified of flies because I couldn't tell them apart. I'm running out of the room frightened of bees. Seen those women in cartoons standing on chairs screaming cause there's a mouse in the house, that's me with bees. So, of course, I started watching your beekeeping videos.
@@Jitsnapping904 The workers and the Queen are all females, bees that are male are not called bees, but drones. All bees are female and drones are not allowed in the colony just when the Queen needs to reproduce. All bees are female, all drones are male, look it up

Good question, The reason for honey bees death after stinging is their sting get arrested in the human body .Their stings are like a saw so it is arrested in human body
Per BBC Science, “Honey bee stings have a barbed ratchet mechanism that pulls the stinger into the initial wound. This didn’t evolve as a suicide mechanism - honey bees can pull their stings out after stinging other insects. It’s meant to drive the stinger in as deep as possible; it just happens that mammal skin is too fibrous to release the sting, so the abdomen is torn open when the bee tries to escape afterwards.”
I just subscribed. 1 sting will kill me. I carry a epi pen. Would you please make more videos like this. I would love to see what they do to the combs. I still do not understand what brood is
If I was as big as that dude a few honey bees wouldn’t scare me. I think if they were to turn on me I’d just close my hand on them and crush them like a bug lol
Well I don't know much about this but maybe there's a new queen born and she's taking dominance does something like that makes sense is that possible if a new Queen is born to take over the hive just a question please give feedback would love to know the answer if you know

1 teaspoon of honey is the life's work of 12 honeybees. Interesting little fact, that's after cycling through all the jobs they do before becoming a forager.
Hi guys, i have two questions. 1) I have a langstroth beehive (vertical) it has three floors. I have a queen grid but i don't want to use it inside maybe the grid should be disturb the bees. Which floor or floors put the eggs by queen and which floor use as honey storage? 2) I don't want to give to the bees sugar, i want bees eat their own honey; i wonder that is it possible. The weather is -10 in winter here. Maybe the honey get freeze and they can't eat. Can the bees feed their own cristalize honey in cold wheters. Is it necesseary to give them sugar with water. Thanks for the answers.
Have you ever had a hive that "Keeps killing queens?" - I had 3 hives of 15 for which introducing a mated queen OR letting them make their own queen failed this year - 4x each! - that's a lot of lost time. Would like to know what's wrong - each 'killer colony' is in a different out yard. I ended up letting one die and newpaper-combining the other two with queen right colonies. Don't know why they kept killing their queens. Any insights?
Only for the greater good of the colony, if she is failing(not laying or laying drones) the workers can sense it and proceed to supersede her, once the workers have a couple of cells ready they conspire to kill her they will ball on her stinging, suffocating or overheating 🥵 to death 💀
I think they continue the attack, mostly due to pheromones. If the queen has been rejected by the hive, they know the smell of the queen. Pheromones play various roles in a hive, from mating to death...
I don’t know how or why this is in my recommendation at 1am but this is interesting

I have tryphopovia, I'm scared of bees, and I'm scared of the noises bees make. I still find it VERY fascinating
Yes thank you for sharing
For some reason, your videos popped into my recommendations. I'm bloody terrified of bees. I'm so terrified of bees that when I was younger I was terrified of flies because I couldn't tell them apart. I'm running out of the room frightened of bees. Seen those women in cartoons standing on chairs screaming cause there's a mouse in the house, that's me with bees.
So, of course, I started watching your beekeeping videos.
that’s literally my situation right now. i can’t believe i’m watching this but i can’t seem to stop now, i’m completely fascinated
Me too seriously its addicting but terrifying
Those bees are simping hard
😂
Aren’t they all females??
@@Trashmagic_girl no
@@Jitsnapping904 The workers and the Queen are all females, bees that are male are not called bees, but drones. All bees are female and drones are not allowed in the colony just when the Queen needs to reproduce. All bees are female, all drones are male, look it up
@@Trashmagic_girl Ohhhhhhh never would've knew that. I was thinking it was 1 female in the colony. And all the dudes was taking care of her. 😂😂😂
So interesting and educative
i was in the pool the other day and a bee landed on my marg i let him chill there, even was drinking with me. He dissipated and came back soon there was 40 bees in my marg lmao they arn't mean creatures just dont like to be smushed lol
Why when a bee stings another bee, they’re not dead but when it stings a human, its stinger got stuck and die.....
Good question,
The reason for honey bees death after stinging is their sting get arrested in the human body .Their stings are like a saw so it is arrested in human body
SIVA SUBRAMANI correct...but what about when they stings another bee? They didn’t die
When they try to pull out the stinger from human skin, their abdomen gets torn apart. When they sting another bee it doesn't happen.
Zerg Zergx yes. I’m not sure , is it because the collagen on human skin maybe is more dense than bee’s keratin body that’s y the stinger got stuck?
Per BBC Science, “Honey bee stings have a barbed ratchet mechanism that pulls the stinger into the initial wound. This didn’t evolve as a suicide mechanism - honey bees can pull their stings out after stinging other insects.
It’s meant to drive the stinger in as deep as possible; it just happens that mammal skin is too fibrous to release the sting, so the abdomen is torn open when the bee tries to escape afterwards.”
So will u make sure ther is another queen in the hive i appreciate u taking your time to show us this video
I just subscribed. 1 sting will kill me. I carry a epi pen. Would you please make more videos like this. I would love to see what they do to the combs. I still do not understand what brood is
Brood is eggs and babies
Bees are so intresting
Such a cool video. Been watching bee videos for awhile but this was always a question of mine
I love bees
How are his fingers not getting stung ?
They only sting when u try to hurt them or for self defense or they don’t have stingers👀
@@nonietheyandere5196 ye
If I was as big as that dude a few honey bees wouldn’t scare me. I think if they were to turn on me I’d just close my hand on them and crush them like a bug lol
Jessica Sutton he has become one with the bees
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing!!!!
Well I don't know much about this but maybe there's a new queen born and she's taking dominance does something like that makes sense is that possible if a new Queen is born to take over the hive just a question please give feedback would love to know the answer if you know
Nature has created everything beautifully.queen will be of different color.and others are all same color.bees always protect their queen bees.
Love your foundationless frames! Do you make or buy them?
Hello David, I am president of the Eastern Indiana Beekeepers club in Indiana. I'm working on a presentation and I wanted to ask if I may show a segment of this video in the meeting? I'll be sure to give you credit for the full video and a link to this video as well.
I have slapped my ears 10 times before learning that the sound is actually from the video .
thanks so much for showing the best and worst, a lot of people wouldn't.
Lol It's 1:45 in the morning and I'm watching this
Aww I can’t help but feel so bad for the queen 😢
The bees aren't social distancing

You’re not funny.
When they sting the queen do they die like they would if they sting us?
No
Have you ever had a hive that "Keeps killing queens?" - I had 3 hives of 15 for which introducing a mated queen OR letting them make their own queen failed this year - 4x each! - that's a lot of lost time. Would like to know what's wrong - each 'killer colony' is in a different out yard. I ended up letting one die and newpaper-combining the other two with queen right colonies. Don't know why they kept killing their queens. Any insights?
These ideas are so helpful! Thanks.
Amazing and interesting behavior. 👍🏼🤯
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
do they not loose there stinger when they are killing the queen?
How are they not stinging your fingers?
We are new in this business but with a alot work plan to be around for a long time. How much are your queens.
Wow this is amazing that was my bee study:do the bees betray their queen
Only for the greater good of the colony, if she is failing(not laying or laying drones) the workers can sense it and proceed to supersede her, once the workers have a couple of cells ready they conspire to kill her they will ball on her stinging, suffocating or overheating 🥵 to death 💀
Wearing earphones and I feel like a bee is just about to land inside my left ear...
I think they continue the attack, mostly due to pheromones. If the queen has been rejected by the hive, they know the smell of the queen. Pheromones play various roles in a hive, from mating to death...
