So a bit about the situation with Kallen's father. How is Kallen and when did the war break out? They probably had a good relationship as husband and wife at one point. Until the war broke out and his personal life was seen as consorting with the enemy. The father was able to convince his new wife to adopt the kids since she couldn't have her own but that's not gonna work for his now ex. The new wife also wanted the old one to go away and thus never see her kids. She bargained to stay as a maid. She wasn't coerced into anything. It was her idea.
No one in the Emperor's good graces. I mean his speech said it all. Doesn't matter if you're Black, White, Britannian, Japanese, son, daughter, he does not care. You wanna prove something to him, well, good luck..
Lelouch's mother was a knight of honor. One of the highest ranks in the Britannian Empire. It can only be bestowed by the Emperor himself and open positions are not filled unless someone is up to the task.. But because she was a commoner a lot of people didn't like that. Always found that interesting. Makes me wonder if he'd ever make a honorary Brittanian such a knight. See if he actually believes what he says.

Just think of refrain as like having marijuana in your possession or any major drug I know they’ve been lenient on it as of now, but back in the day just having it on you would give you a lot of years in prison
