Growing up…I would have NEVER viewed a .410 as a turkey killing tool…squirrels, yep…but for anything else, nope…it’s amazing how everything changes when viewed through the lens of time…love y’all’s channel 🫶🏻👍🫶🏻👍🫶🏻👍
The .410 is no slouch, I hand load #4 shot magnum loads. Around here in the swamps of New England, the longest shot you get is 20 yards and there’s plenty of turkeys. Had a couple in the smoker this weekend. Thanks for the video, well done as always. Be well and God bless.
Ive been hunting with a 410 and TSS here in Missouri the last couple years. Stevens 301, Burris Fast Fire on a Sumtoy mount. Comp N Choke 390 tube. Verdict and Viper Ammo. 3" 9.5's. Been deadly for me. Very Effective.
Nice shooting! Glad to see you got some Viper Ammunition. I love it! Craig and Andrew are some of the best guys you'll ever meet. Can you mention the prices of the Ammunition? I know not a single company can touch the prices that Viper is selling for!
I love the .410 and it will probably be my next rifle. Didn't know CVA made one. Never been turkey hunting either. Hopefully that will change this fall. That CVA would be much more enjoyable than my heavy 12 gauge. I'll be taking a closer look at that thing.
Have you guys shot the Browning tss loads yet? I just picked up this rifle and two boxes. Apparently I should have watched this before going shopping. 😂. Now I'm nervous I just threw $100 down the drain and that load isn't going to come close to these.
@@ReviewThisThing which is crazy to think about. They are a "top dog" and not even the cheapest. I just bought 2 boxes of the verdict. The cost of the ammo and shipping was still cheaper than 2 boxes of Browning TSS off the shelf.
That’s crazy. You would think the hand loaded stuff would cost more, but apparently not. We haven’t found a factory load yet that can come anywhere close to the others.
Never went turkey hunting. Are you not allowed to use say a marlin795 22lr? I get 4" groups of 10 rounds at 100yds. At 50yds it's almost 1 hole. I mean just one 22lr to the head and your done. Cost less and you don't get bb's in your food.
I can tell you that in our first .410 test, we shot through a stack of 8 layers of cardboard at 40 yards, and every load we shot went through. I also know a lot of folks who have killed turkeys out at 40+ yards with the TSS loads.
A #9 TSS pellet going 1,100 fps out of a 410 has the same kinetic energy as a #9 TSS pellet going 1,100fps out of a 10 gauge. It's simple physics! The only difference is the # of pellets that fits in different gauge shells.
Yeah I have heard the same thing but I believe that the reason why the 410 is doing so good has got a lot to do with the wading because it covers past the shot itself and doesn't let the shot start expanding until it gets out to around 35 yards. It's definitely a great combo but it's unlike people thinks all 410s will not do this good
This channel keeps getting better and better!
Excellent information guys, yall are saving us a lot of money by doing the testing for us.
Thank you so much! We’re trying to grow as the need grows! Thank you for watching!

Thank you so much! We appreciate you watching. Yep - it’s amazing the advancements they’ve made with ammo!

Heck yeah! We love the Viper and Verdict! Have you seen the Gavel? We just did this video ua-cam.com/video/SZYb7cVSuK0/v-deo.htmlsi=PR8TTPNkQo9kd1BA
I like that cva
It’s a fun little gun for sure!
I’m using the Tristar Viper, Trijicon RMR and Apex Small town blend with a Jebs and it’s straight poison outta my .410 .
Yes! Sounds awesome!
Nice review.👍
Thank you so much!

Ahhhh. Excellent point. I’ll add that to the next few. The Viper has been pretty amazing! Wait until you see it out my Mossberg 500!
@@ReviewThisThing I'm looking forward to it! Thanks 😊
Thank you!

Oh my, yes! I shot my 20 gauge this weekend after shooting The .410 a lot - VAST world of difference!
...and you can shoot .410 with the Judge. @@ReviewThisThing
Yep! 😊😊😊
The judge what the hell
Haha. Never have and won’t.
Stevens 301 410, Verdict Ammo 9 shot, and Indian Creek Choke tubes would be a great review!
People keep talking about this Stevens. We may have to take a look.
I am looking forward to the scope review.
NEXT SUNDAY!!!

Mossberg sa 410 with pattern master code black. 40 yards 187 pellets in 10 inch circle. Viper 1 ounce 10 shot.
Heck yeah! Nice!
We would like to see something about the Winchester SXP 20 g Turkey Shot Gun. Hunters are taking about it ?
Hmmmm…I’ll see what I can do
I’m shooting the Steven’s 301, 20 gauge with Apex TSS this year Kicks Goblin’ Thunder .560 choke
NICE! Good luck this season!
@@ReviewThisThing thank you, you too
Thanks!

🤣 Sorry about that. We have some but haven’t shot it yet. I’ve wondered how they would do, though. We haven’t had a lot of success with Factory loads.

Look into the Indian creek choke and the new herter's tss ammo I shoot apex ninjas I think you get more bang for the buck
I saw those Herters are fairly “cheap.” I do need to shoot them.
@@ReviewThisThing they have been using them on blue collar outdoors and getting tight patterns at 40 with them in 410 and 20 gauge
I need to head to the Bass Pro, I guess. Thanks

No rifles for turkeys where we are. They want them to have to get in close so it’s more sporting.
Only thing I'm wondering about is the knock down power that comes from the 410
I can tell you that in our first .410 test, we shot through a stack of 8 layers of cardboard at 40 yards, and every load we shot went through. I also know a lot of folks who have killed turkeys out at 40+ yards with the TSS loads.

Great point! I have read, too, that with TSS, you have similar kinetic energy from #9 as you do with #5 or #6 lead shot.

I cringe, every time you pull that trigger $10 burns up.
They are definitely not cheap!
