Hi, do you know how i can let multiple “Tracks” Light up in the “Stellpult” on the CS3, when the Section of track is occupied? So Not Just the “Sensor” but a complete Section or Block.

      Hi Jan,
I assume by "Stellpult" you mean the Control Desk? When using the layout Panel you cannot get that effect - it only highlights the contact. On the Control Desk you can get to light up a section of track. The trick is to snap it to the track. Do note it only highlights a straight section...
      Try the following
      1. Show the accessoires panel at the top
      2. Find the contact you want on the Control Desk
      3. Drag it to where you want it
At this point it time you might think it is attached - but it is not. It has only been put on the control desk and it not attached to the track.
      4. Take the contact and move it around until it snaps to the track. There is a "little hook" you want on the track.
The funny thing is it is difficult to see if you succeeded. When you go out of edit mode you can see it.
The Text and the Routes (Events) behave in the same way where you need to snap it to the track. In this video you can see how to snap those: ua-cam.com/video/dsXjeP-UprY/v-deo.html
Let me know if you succeed. Enjoy ;-)

Nice video - thanks. Suggestion for future video - train control by signals on a single track with trains running in both directions. Is this possible by m83/m84 decoder or by using the relais 7244?

...meaning, one signal controlling trains from the right and another signal controlling trains from the left. The could share the same dead-track.

      Hi Joen,
      Great idea!
I have never gotten around to buying a Märklin 7244 relay and I must admit I dont really get the manual: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/56/57/565764d19417090d655ecf4eba36c4191434542531.pdf To me it looks like one input controls 4 outputs, which seems a little odd to me (and a little expensive). I do agree you could probably do something like what you suggest using two Märklin 7244: one for controlling each directions. Hence, each relay would control a stop track, a signal and react to when the train from the other direction has passed. However, this would mean that a train would wait until another comes from the other direction - not really sure how to release a train if the track is free and at the same time prevent somebody from the other direction. So as I see it, you would make it work, but would not look too natural unless trains are always waiting and a "take turns" pattern is ok. But I might have missed something.
On the other hand I have been considering how to automate a shadow station when you have a MS2. If you have a CS3 you can make events, but this is not possible with the MS2. In this case I have started designing a shadow station and controlling the inputs and stops using a m84. The m84 has input contacts to control each group. Hence you could change incoming turnouts, power off a stop track and power another stop track releasing another train when one is entering the shadow station. I might do a video on this if I make it work. One could perhaps use the Märklin 7244 relay instead.... hmmmmm? why not?
I like the idea - not sure when I would get around to it. But I am interested in making a couple of videos on what I would call "electrical automation". So far I have been thinking about a shadow station and a station using m84.
      Enjoy ;-)

Hi, thanks for these videos, they help me a lot. I appreciate the automation videos. Would like to see more with the mobile station 2 and the M83/M84 decoders. Need help wiring the uncoupler tracks. Thanks again

      Hi Vito,
Let me know ideas for topics on MS2 and M83/M84. Always good to have a list of things to do. For the MS2 I think I have run out of ideas - let me know ;-)
The uncoupler track is on my to do list, but I have unfortunately not gotten around to making a video on this. In the meantime check out the manual for the uncoupler track page 2: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/a6/1d/a61d7af4a808351792e886d683b04f451645426892.pdf
Looking at the manual on page 2 for the m83 it looks like the yellow goes in the center and the blue to one of the sides: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/a2/80/a2802d3f15186f735a645adc4b3c8ebb1566480449.pdf
If you use the first output and put the blue in "1 Red" then it will fit with the description in the technical manual for adjusting the timing for "1 Red" (CV 112 & CV 114) to allow a longer activation period. Check out technical manual page 23: static.maerklin.de/damcontent/3b/44/3b44f7c3c18c5d0a2b0c3e377f3df7281570606458.pdf
Hope this helps! If not, then shoot me an email (check channel about), then I can help over email. Enjoy ;-)

I wish some time would get spent on analog trains. Not everyone does digital.
I have so much of the old Marklin, so I won't pack it all away.

Hi Marvin, unfortunately I do not have any Märklin analogue, so I do not intend to make any videos on this topic. However, there are also UA-cam channels that look at Märklin analogue. My favorite channel is: @The3rdRail This is a really great channel focusing on older Märklin with everything analogue. Enjoy ;-)

Your videos provide a wealth of information to cs3 users but they are way too long. On top of that, it's just way too much information all at once. Make them shorter and cover two or three topics at once. Nobody builds your layout exactly, they are only interested in how certain things work on the cs3. Really, with videos of 15 to 20 minutes you reach a lot more people. And don't tell everything 20 times. People who watch the videos are already working and familiar with the basic techniques so you don't have to repeat everything constantly. Don't get me wrong, this is just constructive criticism!, I just miss good videos on youtube on the concept of cs3 programming. Even Märklin falls short in this and you have so much knowledge that I just think it's a shame that you make it all so complex.

      Hi Richard,
I always appreciate constructive criticism, but I must admit it seems like you copied the same comment to this video you made to another video (automation episode 7) and I don't really see it apply in the same way here? Yes this video is 23 mins and could be shorter, but the other points seems like they belong to the other video?
      Enjoy ;-)
