Just plug in a hitch receiver tail light available for about 20 bucks or cheaper on many truck sites. The truck thinks that you are pulling a trailer and the AUTO-STOP-START will not work !!! Plus you now have an extra stop light for greater visibility and safety from rear rear end crashes.
I had my Auto Stop Eliminator installed now since I bought my Maverick and it's been great having it installed. First of all it was the easiest install ever! Then I found out what it really does is allows the driver to choose the default state. If I turn the Auto Stop system on, it stays on and same for when I chose off, even after an ignition cycle. I mostly leave the Auto Stop Start off but when I see I'm going to be stopped for awhile I'll use it. I also found out that the Auto Stop system is very sensitive to releasing the brake pedal pressure even slightly and it restarts the engine, defeating the purpose of shutting down to save fuel. So I use the Auto Brake hold feature to make sure there's no accidental restarting before I'm ready to go or the timer restarts the engine. Lastly, there's an electric water pump for when the engine is in the Stopped mode. Because of that, it's a good idea to use the Auto Stop system every once in a while so the engine coolant gets circulated through that pump also.
Yep, its a free service. Liberals need to stop worrying about saving a nickel of gas to save the polar bears. Things like this, daylight saving time and the antispill gas cans actually do more damage and spill more than normal and just cost the consumer more money than needed.
thanks for this. Also, i couldnt easily get the thing off so i took the two m8 flange nuts off and removed the obd2 connector, made it really easy. I then dropped one flange nut into the side panel and made it really hard on myself 😂
thanks for the info..if i want to install it...i will be ordering a Maverick when the banks open up in mabee August '22. One of the biggest pet peeves is the stop start-AND_ round knob for shifting......people complained so much about the knob in the Ranger that they went back to old style....................I WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM TURNING OFF THE S/S...........I HATE IT SO MUCH............Ive never own a vehickle with it.
I am so happy to see this is an available option. Your video is very helpful and concise as well; great job! One question: where did you source this item from?
Great video, i would just cut the zip ties back with a set of flush cut pliers at harbor freight. They cut the tie so far back you will never stab yourself with the fresh cut edge. Used to be $2.00, now 4.. love your truck
Question, what will FORD do if & when it is found that the Autostop Eliminator has been installed and some sort of warranty work needs to be done? FORD going to deny the claim??
They can only deny warranty if they can prove the device directly caused the issue. I'm out of warranty now but never once when I when in for service did they ever even notice it.
I was just wondering if the Maverick Eco Boost does this auto/stop. We have a Subaru Forester and it's on by default - drives me crazy! I rarely stop long enough to make that feature worth it. Is it this feature that makes it an "Eco Boost?" Surely the hybrid version isn't as bad...our Forester shakes on start up. There's no way this is a cost effective feature.
The Maverick (and many modern vehicles) have an auto stop/start feature. This "feature" turns the motor off when you completely stop the vehicle with your foot on the break. The motor then immediately starts when you push the gas again. Its designed to be a fuel saving feature, but for most people its really annoying. Its always on by default, and you have to disable it by pressing the button every time you start your car. This eliminator bypasses the button, essentially making it always off by default, which is how it should be in my opinion.
Auto start stop is not good for your engines. But companies know ppl like you don’t understand that and only care about mpg. That’s not an attack towards you but informing you of why ppl would want to remove that feature.
Let me know how much you like the cost of a starter and the labor to install it. You'll wish it was a hundred bucks. Tree huggers are the nuts that hang on trees.
Just put everything back the way it was before taking it to the dealer for warranty repair. If they see any sign of tampering or that is there, they will avoid your warranty on the spot. After the warranty is up, I wouldn't care after that.

But then your blind spot monitoring stops working if you have a Ford Maverick
Worth every penny. This was the first thing I bought for my '21 Ranger. Plugged in and forgotten, out of sight.

Auto stop/start can be disabled via programming at the dealer. Had it done on our 17 Escape. Zero cost while having normal service.

I did this too, but anticipated the nut dropping behind the trim so I held a magnet on it as I unscrewed the nut.
Great product. Easy install. Great video. Nice job.
Thanks for sharing, got one ordered 👍

$99 is a pretty expensive for a harness.

One question: where did you source this item from?
What is the pigtail wired connector for hanging off the autostop?
The memory function I believe, like flash memory.
Where does the "second" plug in go to ?
There isn't one. That other little box holds a tiny circuit board. It includes some zip ties to tie it out of the way
Where does the smaller plug go that’s coming off the side of the eliminator?
It's the memory function chip I believe, It just zip ties up.
so short sighted of ford to not place this option in the settings for users
I believe this is federally mandated so they would not be allowed to have a setting to defeat it.
I think the current administration required this, not Ford

Easier if you remove two 9mm nuts and drop the OBD port down. Then you can unlatch and unplug the original cable and plug in the eliminator.

@@MaverickTruckMods thank u
Should I be concerned if it eliminated itself which it did on my Maverick ?

How’d you get that dash? Mine looks different like a cheaper one but my model is a xlt
Como faço para comprar?
My hybrid one does when I select sport mode, and others mode are off
For what reason was your engine speed showing 1,000 with key on engine off?
Anything is better than this stupid auto-stop curse so this is worth it no matter what it costs.
Dealers will do it for no cost
All you have to do is pull the small wire from the negative side of the battery. Cost nothing
Whats the advantages of this...thanks for any info.
@zerocryption thanks
Will buy.
Does this works on the ecoboost & the hybrid? TIA
Did you have to disconnect the battery before beginning the install?
No

its amazing how terrible the stop start is compared to Volkswagen atlas
So I pay a hundred bucks to make my MPG go down. GENIUS!
