Edictum - Mercury (the Winged Messenger) (Synthwave/Drum'n'Bass/Outrun)

"Mercury - the winged messenger" is the first single of my upcoming planet themed album (with vinyl release) that is heavily inspired by Gustav Holst's work. The song tempo of 173,6 BPM was calculated from astronomical data and Synthwave sound design was combined with elements of liquid Drum'n'Bass to give the track that extra uplifting energy normally supplied by a set of wings ;) The hybrid track fits both Retrowave and Drum and Bass playlists. It is also the 2nd track I release with my own vocals :)

It is inspired by his cycle. I've produced a whole album releasing over the next couple of months that took inspiration for most songs one way or another. But not just covering/remixing it. It is more subtle. Either the feel, the harmonic framework, fragments of his motifs and similar things. Listening to the whole album will be a similar journey but not just a modernized ripoff. I hope that answers your question and raises your interest in what is to come 😀
