Well done re the new TEF6686. In my radio shack, I only use a TEF6686 'desktop' tuner version for 65-108 MHz DX. I also use an Icom R8600 for shortwave and low VHF DX. Both use up little physical space on my monitoring table. The TEF6686 sounds better connected to a pair of Edifier R1280DB bookshelf type stereo speakers.

Did you have to modify internally to allow PC control?
@@Scotscan no it has a usb connector. Ive changed the band edge on fm so it starts around 83mhz . But that is done in the menu
