I have been struggling with sleep for a while now and have sought the Lord again after denying him for many years. I ask him for help with this and next day this appears even though I am unworthy of his grace......he hears ALL our prayers ALL of the time and that gives me and I hope all of you great comfort. Try to walk as closely as you are able with Jesus. Obedience, reading the word regularly, prayer, thinking of God. More time with God is more intimacy with God and the closer you are to God the safer you will be. God will help you in doing this if you continue on your walk with him in earnest. When it gets tough again; and it will........keep walking in faith. One foot in front of the other and you will overcome. Where we lack in strength and virtue; God has an over supply and has shown to be willing to provide for those who seek to do his will. I'm happy for you :)

If being bold does not work; try what did work for me one night early on in my walk. Be very humble before God; honest about your need for him; that in your weakness his strength is made perfect. Slow down your prayer and make it very gentle. When I did that; I felt a gentle nudging on my words and the prayer. The prayer was answered and the unclean spirit was immediately gone. I believe this was the Holy Spirit guiding me in the prayer or praying it for me. Trust in God. God is Almighty.

I pray constantly but still can’t sleep. I pray all day long but still can’t sense God’s presence. It’s been like this for 3 years.
Hold captive your thoughts. His presence is in the still, quiet thoughts, the "everything will be ok" type thoughts. As long as you keep repenting everyday for pride, stubbornness, presumptuous sins, etc. Read the Word, that's crucial. Just keep clinging to Him and don't give up. Those who endure to the end will be saved. A lot of times when you can't sleep it's a call to prayer and to talk to Him. It's a relationship. Ask Him what you should pray for/ repent for and wait for a thought to come to you. I've been a Christian like 20 years and have only heard an audible voice once. Oh! And get a prayer partner!! Getting a prayer partner to pray with significantly increases prayer power. May God bless you and I pray that He gives you a sweet dream of Him in Jesus name!!
