The cdc actually recommends to doctors that patients take a deep breath before a height measurement, so not doing that is really just under measuring yourself
Busting a gut is legit every doctor I’ve went to told me to do it plus you should claim the height that you measure at in PM not night so if you get 5’8 5/8 and there’s a 1/8 error you’re truly 5’8 1/2 174cm
I know it might sound weird, but considering the fact he runs a website dedicated to Celebrity Heights(Or Height in general), it's probably to avoid any accusations of over scoring himself. Personally, I go by my evening height of 182cm(without shoes), which is roughly 5'11.

No you can hold it for long and talk you just have to work on your breathing technique. Plus as a model you do stretching if you want to be perceived as taller. Then you have to work on your feet working the foot muscles and additionally whilst being measured moving your feet so they are not flat on the ground can give you a full centimetre. The back and the neck you can stretch it out whilst being measured but you should do stretching and strengthening exercise for those with scoliosis everyday physiotherapy exercises to straighten out your spine can make a difference varying from case to case up to 10 cm
Usually before a measurement, I bust a gut, then breathe out completely while maintaining that posture, and then only I take the measurements. I feel by doing this, it helps you to stand as straight as possible, yet at the same time not really "busting a gut" on purpose to get a few additional mms.
but this is the afternoon not the morning i doubt your height would decrease much. rob you are 5 foot 8.5 end of story claim 5'8 all you like. we all know you are 5'8.5.
So busting a gut during measurement is proper? When i measure myself, i do not bust a gut to maximum, but I am standing as straight as possible with empty lungs.

i think you need to bust a gut when measuring coz those mms are really helpful for example without maximizing your height you're 176.2 when you maximize your self you would be scraping 177 so yeah there is a difference

When did your growth spurt start? Check if you have a growth chart. I dont if its possible but you can if you got the spurt lately, for example at the age of 15yo

Hey Rob! Where did you get your stadiometer I can never get an accurate height measurement of myself but when I hold a tape measurer in front of my face standing bare and flat foot my eye level is about where the top of your head is on your measurements (5' 8.5")
