So what is the advantage of the pinch. Or is that just how they are designed and why not just make the skid skinner or other mounts wider so there is no pinch.. I am pretty new to this kind of crawling truck so I am trying to learn. Thanks. Love your content
No advantage just the way it’s designed, most are like this.
The advantage is it adds rigidity/ strength to the chassis

@@TRDAdventures 10-4. I’m looking everywhere for run footage of it and can’t find anything. I’m trying to decide what I’ll build on my newly acquired set of AR44s. I have done TRX and Capra portals in the past and am doing my first straight axle build. I run a stock enduro hd too. Just trying to decide on flat or angled skid one of the local compa requires flat skid and 4.19” tires for class one and that about i other than front bumper. 🤔
@@covecityboys it’s not out yet. But if your looking at class 1 chassis, I recommend the brazin c1 pro, CCW razors edge or the Exo Everest
@@TRDAdventures yeah I’ve been looking at them. I honesto don’t see anything in my area competing with the enduro in class 1 flat skid. Folks around here just usually run class 2 or really tiny incapable tf2 stuff etc.
@@covecityboys gotcha, the Everest chassis may be “class 1” but I actually run is as my class 3. The Exo chassis are very nice.

They are very very close obviously there are some different shock mount locations for tuning and it has a 7.5 degree angle on the skid vs gspeed with 6

The Sherpa was designed towards portals and the angle helps with break over

Like other than an lcg rig? Oh yea, I do still enjoy taking out a more basic rig something just cruise with and such.

@@TRDAdventures I have a black sr5 Tacoma I turned into a pro ,all badgeing 2" lift , armor plates from front to past the transfer case and hidden winch,12,000lbs it's a beast

What skids are you running..I like the orange dude.
Normally I run in most of mine just a 3D printed scx style high clearance skid. The orange one is a custom skid for a lcg transmission I’m building

Im in this considiton also, im using salinas transmission with 84width and use tgh dsm and im using Gspeed G10. Is that okay if im bending it into the short DSM?
Yes it will be fine, I’ve seen it done many times.
