Good recall of my network course ..Thank you sir for making more confident on me by watching this video..thanks for wonderful effort ...appreciate one..
I screwed up and started network+ plus , I’m a novice lol 😂 what was I thinking , I thought this was the one I start off with . Well only way out is through it .
A couple of things in the network 1 chapter it would be worth highlighting that horizontal cabling (wall plate to patch panel is 90m (300ft) leaving 5m for patch leads each end. Also in discussing the db9 / serial / roll over with the way it’s discussed may cause confusion. Roll over cable is just a cable that rolls over ie pin 1 to pin 8. It’s most common use is connecting to an 8p8c port on a Cisco device and they made use of serial ports were standard on pcs / laptops at the time bearing in mind this was before usb as well as the fact Ethernet network ports & modems didn’t come standard on laptops until the 2000’s. PCMCIA devices were used to add communications etc. A serial port sends data down one “pipe” as distinct to a parallel port most often used to connect printers to pcs this used a db25 port which was standard on pcs at the time (often one db9 or 25 pin serial port and one db25 parallel port were located together. Now the rs-232 part (RS - Recommended Stand) defines how the data is sent and received b/w DTE (data terminal equipment - the pc) & DCE (Data Communication equipment - modem or router. This establishing the protocol if you will. Two other protocols you may come across are RS-422 & RS-485, the later is widely used in industrial & metering applications as the physical layer for MODBUS. The ts-485 is a single master that can communicate with multiple slaves over 1200meters.
Great course so informative, it's free and straight to the point, watched today half of it can't to watch the other half tomorrow. It's nice to have some knowledge and after that, you can say before i didn't knew anything now you get better perspective about computer network, devices i etc. :)
It's sad that, especially as a guy, people don't care about how you feel until it gets bad enough that it's too late. That's why this video is so great, we need to change this.
You are great sir I want to learn all server and database. I want to learn backend server and database. Please sir reply You make a video on this topic Please reply sir 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can we download the Powerpoint charts, displayed in the background? This would be a great help to follow your great content and presentation and to re-read it, too.
This should be required learning for IT support/helpdesk level one and level two professionals. This entire channel should be required learning or at least something level one and level two IT support professionals should be given this material to go over if they want to get out of the dead-end field of IT support.
Started watching the video and plan to finish it. I'm curious to see what was done differently here. I appreciate the thought and effort. Although I have the feeling that it is incomplete for some reason. Or maybe incomplete is the wrong word. Ir seems like it's what they learn as first years , networking 101 for people on the rush. I guess my sentiment is, where do we go from there?how do we build up on top of that with the right transition etc Thanks again for the video
Seems like it need s some updates or at least some fidelity to the material...which apparently can't really be possible without an update. At 3:46:17 you read the two last lines adding something that was crutial for comprehension but was missing on the page.
This only was this originally created as supplemental material for a bigger course, it was also geared for an older exam (N10-005)j. So while much of the material is still relevant, some is not. Please use with other material.
@@arrikd8358 No problem, I just recently learned that this material was being circulated on different channels on UA-cam. Thought I should at least take the time give relevant answers where I can.
Sorry, this material was originally created as supplemental material for Edmonds Community College's PACE-IT program. Which has since been discontinued, and they own the orginals.
seems like some of it needs to be updated. Also, I've noticed some missing parts, such as the one at 5:16:40 . It jumped directly to the next big point and not the next following section. Edit:something similar happened here 8:29:28 If one only goes by what they read, they might miss the important detail about not using rubbing alcohool.
Are all of these sections snippets of a larger lecture? It looks like these are from a community college course which traditionally has 45-90 minute lectures. Is each snippet part of a bigger lecture?
I am new to networking. Can anyone please tell me what is the difference between a *Host* and a *Node* . I have seen the term Host many times in networking but couldn't find proper definition of Host.
Sorry, but I created this material as a supplement for a larger course at Edmonds Community College. Their PACE-IT program has since been discontinued and they own the originals. You can still find the individual material on their PACE-IT channel, but it is harder for it to flow since they are not in any specific order (at least that I can tell). My CS took the time and effort to pull them all together and put them in one place for people to use.
The original material were all stand alone videos embedded in a larger course (this was just supplemental). My CS took the time to gather them all together into this format.

Good questions, and yes the information is incomplete. It was originally not intended to be a stand alone offering.
