@@jessehammer123 It was mentioned in the podcast. Ed Gamble was confused and inquired why it was being shown as a full task during the ad break, and Alex said "you'll see why we've made it a full task in a moment"
@@jessehammer123 I highly recommend the podcast. Ed is a great host and you learn lots of behind the scene stuff. There is the taskmaster podcast and the people's podcast which is hosted by Lou and someone else. That is a look at the show through the eyes of super fans of the show. Sometimes they have contestants from the show but it is mostly fans talking about their fave episodes. I haven't listened to that one as much. Also they mention it becoming a full task on the show.
I just realized David violated the rules. It says you must stay behind the line at all times and he clearly went in front of the line when he went to the RV to get spoons.
Is it weird after hearing the task my immediate thought was pushing the line up? Like staying behind the line but pushing one end of the rug or whatever up until it was close to Alex so you could just plop it? XD
Do they all pronounce it “la-soo”? I assumed British people would pronounce it “lah-so” and only Australians or New Zealanders or something would pronounce it “la-soo”.
It's an initial-stress-derived noun. The pronunciation depends on whether it's a noun or a verb. It's like 'Rebel" or "Contract" or "Permit." "Lasso" is special in that it's a geographically specific variant. It fits the case in British English, but has only the one pronunciation in American English.
@@47Jaspers Oh, I see! I just assumed whether the initial stress mattered to the pronunciation didn’t vary by country- as an American, I’ve only ever pronounced it one way and never considered that it could be stress-dependent in other dialects.
I feel like Ardal could steal that title (particularly the shower curtain task, where somehow he asked Alex for a spoon and yoghurt, then ended up sitting in his underwear with a face painted on his knee hoping to convince Alex it was his neck) Or Bridget if you replace "man" by "person" (at some point Alex started to explain the task in bite-sized bits of information because "all the information is on the task" is pointless to say to soneone who either has the reading level of a 7yo, or is willfully acting stupid)
I love that this wasn't even supposedl to be a full task just a tie-breaker and David was so bizarre and bad that it was shown on TV.
Is that true? I don’t remember that being mentioned in the episode. But that’s crazy if true.

"I'll be honest. The spoons haven't helped."
You don't say.
"huh, this isn't working. I know, I'll grab another spoon"
I seriously want ro know what he was thinking 🤣
David not even acknowledging the top line of the task pretty much summed up his TM experience 😂
I just want to check... Have I been placed on a team with David Baddiel?
David and Ed were such a treat 👌🏻
I just realized David violated the rules. It says you must stay behind the line at all times and he clearly went in front of the line when he went to the RV to get spoons.
TBF though, that's the least of his worries!
It really doesn't matter for him
"David asked for help almost every task and I always said yes, because I knew, ultimately, it wouldn't affect the competition."
- Alex Horne
He's also more traditionally over the line about 3x in this clip. Its a short so no timestamps but just watch it through again.
I just love hearing them say “lassoooo” 😂
Right? It's so adorable how they pronounced it 😄
How come? Is it the British accent?
@marie8553 As someone who's lived in Texas for almost 10 years: Yes, it's the accent 😂
It's adorable and I love British humor ❤
He acts exactly like a dad who has just had a long night of his kids screaming
spoony neeson
Did anyone end up moving the carpet so the line moves?
Yes, Rose did. Also, at least a couple of people moved the line itself.
I mean that or just asking Alex to move closer as nothing in the rules said anything against that
Omg. I love David Baddiel.
As an electrician this hurts to watch
I am upset I wasn’t in this challenge. I so would have owned it. 😂
I don’t think there were any rules I heard here that you can’t just toss our man the rope and he adorns the lasso.
He puts the "bad" in BADdiel
Just freaking move the line. It is in a carpet!
I think Jo did that, if not her then someone else did
a couple of them did, but David "another spoon" Baddiel was not one of them
Nothing makes me realize how American I am like wondering where the challenge in lassoing someone standing still is
They never said they can't ask Alex to walk up to them.

Where was health and safety for this episode 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just move the rug
I would have evicted up the carpet and moved the line right up to him, then I can just place it over him 😊
I would’ve moved the line unless if the rules specifically said not to lol
Fold the mat toward Alex?
Damn John Oliver got old fast
wait they do actually look quite similar now that you're pointed it out! can't believe I didn't see the resemblance
Roll up carpet
It never said they couldn't move the line.

Canadians also pronounce it la-SOO.
Rose Matafeo used both pronunciations.
I don't even know how you're supposed to pronounce those 2 spellings differently. 🤣
Maybe should be la-sue versus la-soh

Why didn't he just fold the carpet
Haha why did he add spoons?
i think he thought it would weigh the lasso down and make it easier to throw... i think.
Would have just bribed Alex to come to me
Stealing Ol' Moneybag Murray's idea now, are we?
Hard to watch...I'm more accustomed to seeing this David person with a proper talented sidekick!
the most non sensical moment from the least common sense having man in the history of taskmaster
