Great job. Since I left Lexus several years ago I haven’t worked on a convertible car. I loved your diagnostic process on this one
Awesome approach! Using the uScope... it's just so handy! I love that thing. I think you did the best repair possible, replacing that entire harness. Professional job Mario 👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
Mario employed a technique generally known as the "stereo effect." SMA has used it occasionally when diagnosing wheel speed sensors.
I can appreciate the time that was taken to find the service info! I have the hardest time with that part of the diagnostic process. Finding info and basically key wording is the most difficult in my opinion! Thanks for sharing your process!
Mario you are Mr. Fixit. Cars nowadays are so unreliable with all the electronics packed into them something is bound to break. Looks like every system on the car has a module. Mario I thank you for sharing and hope you don’t see to many more convertibles. Stay safe and well Artie 😊
Bravo👍
Thanks for sharing Bro, it was challenging at the point, where service info was not matching with the actual voltage values, but you fixed it with experience😉
Stay Safe👍
Great job
Nice fix! Strange circuit design.. Thanks for taking the time to share!
Man some of the service information can lead ya down rabbit hole if not careful
Thanks
It is still a 5 volt supply, because it is negative swich and a pull down sensor between positive ( stable) to changeable negative through the module.
Great find Mario! Liked
Great video Mario good fix man
Great job, damn service info led me down the wrong path many times.
Tx Mario, your video helped a lot.
Great diagnosis..
Great Video
great video, just curious why the customer did not go to the dealer of bmw ? :)
The same with my 2015 bmw 228i.
Well done Mario. What kind of scanner did you use? Crazy how a low mileage wiring harness failed. As for the service data, trust but always verify right? Love how you aren’t afraid of a job you haven’t ever done, but you just use sound diagnostic steps to confirm a fix.
Thanks! I used an autel im608
Did I get it right.. There was some DTC stored, but that the sensor is shorted to ground you saw in some live dada, am I right? Good fix.
Nice work Mario. Hey question.....I own a very busy and well respected Porsche/Audi shop in mid-city Los Angeles. Were looking for a diagnostic tech who's good with customer service and has a chill attitude. In other words, someone a lot like you. If you're interested, let me know. I would love to speak with you about it. You're an awesome tech bro. I'm a diagnostic tech also and I love watching your approach to problem solving. You make it look easy....I guess that might be the editing too but either way...thats a compliment, man. You know your shit. Anyways, hit me back. Lets talk
When the top gets used multiple times daily... designed for occasional use!
I like the mini scope what brand is It Mario ? I have had issues with all data misleading service info hahah
It looks like Uscope from aeswave
Hello would you have a video on how to replace a Hydraulic Unit, Convertible Top Motor, Hydraulic Pump for a M235 F23
The top is like the turn signals on a BMW; not really meant to be used
How to disable to BMW f30 hood alarm? I want to disable the sensor. Can you help?
¿Podrías activar los subtítulos e Español? Un saludo y gracias de antemano
Love the video; you live in southern Florida and you don't work on many convertibles?
😂Ironic i know LOL
What's the part number for the sensor?
How were you able to find the part number for that sensor? I have a similar issue on a 640i but can’t seem to find the pn for the sensor. Is it a harness?
How did you released the top roof front lock? Manually or just from trunk with those two black pullers?
Since the top attempted to open i didn't have to manually open it. But yes there's a small tab you can pull and manually open the top lick
This is not supposed to be this difficult he says... every time i work on bmw this phrase is uttered.
Hey there, this is Liz from MXR, a brand of rebuilding and car parts. Are you interested in any FB Group collaborations?
We could see better if you had a brighter headlamp.................🤷 Perhaps......🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
