Raised in New Jersey by way of New York, Jax got her start by performing a wide variety of genres and in bands growing up. At the age of 18, she developed cancer above her vocal cords, which returned following a couple months of remission right as she relocated to Los Angeles in pursuit of her music. Left unable to sing herself, Jax turned to songwriting for others and found industry success behind-the-scenes. As her ability to perform returned, Jax needed to pivot yet again when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. This time she turned to TikTok, posting a hilarious response to the pop gem “Stacy’s Mom” from “Stacy’s Mom’s Perspective” which exploded with nearly 9 million views in just a few months and follow-ups including “Update from Avril Lavigne & Sk8er Boi 18 years later.” She continued to go viral a dozen or more times over, having now amassed over 9.7 million followers on the platform and over 155 million “likes” to date. With a massive online audience under her belt, Jax began sharing her own original music in late 2020 to an overwhelmingly positive response - ultimately leading to her signing with Atlantic Records for her forthcoming debut full-length.

My Dad, who is in the early stages of dementia, kept playing this song. Turns out he liked it because my middle name's Victoria. He has no concept of the very well-written, relevant, and positive message behind the lyrics. He just knows he likes it because it's catchy and Jax has a beautiful voice. And that "It's about a girl named Victoria"

Oh Megan that is so touching and shows how special you are to him. I lost Mum on Boxing Day 2020 from cancer and 13 months and one day later I went in to wake up Dad and he had unexpectedly but peacefully passed away during the night. Enjoy you time with your Dad, talk about childhood memories and stay strong because I believe there is a part in everyone with dementia that knows who their loved ones are even though the new memories may go the love you had for your father and he for you is inate. It's going to get tough (my Nana had dementia) but you will be strong for him as he was for you. I wish you all the best. X
Dementia is cruel and hard to watch. I've been in your shoes. Try to find ways to have fun with it. Laugh and joke as much as possible. It will be great for him plus it will help you cope. Good luck and God bless you and your dad.
Enjoy every moment you have and try to always look on the positive side. It's hard. Please get in a support group or read, etc ... dementia is especially cruel and hard to mentally process. Be kind to yourself. I'm rooting for you ❤

Every time this song comes on the radio, I blast the volume and sing along. It’s such a jamming song. And the reason UA-cam recommended this version to me within an hour after it got posted, is because UA-cam knows that I listened to the original music video on loop like every day ever since the first time I heard it on the radio.
I love how relatable and fun her lyrics are.

I relate to this song in a slightly different way. For me I’ve always been skinny. And people would bully me for being way too skinny. Saying I need to eat more. I couldn’t gain weight if I wanted. They said I was ugly for being “skin and bones” and I was too flat. It made me lose weight. I was depressed. But now I’m happier. Screw the haters. I love myself and I don’t care anymore. I still remember the day first learned the words "thunder thighs". My own godmother and cousins said I had them. My neurodivergent self thought it meant I was powerful and 💪 strong. That nothing could deny my existence and magnificence.
It wasn't until I overheard one cousin be offended that another called THEM that that I learned it wasn't favorable by the ignorant masses. I liked my definition better. And I'm glad I held my own conviction in my heart.
