In the oddessy it's made extremely clear just how close they were to home, they could literally see their homes, people could literally see their fleet returning. Then they all watched as a storm came out of nowhere and blew their fleet away.
For clarification, Hades never makes an appearance in the Odyssey. I theorize the reason he isn't is because he's too busy ushering the dead from the Trojan war to really care about Odysseus' story. Unlike all the other gods, he has no real qualm or hatred for him. And he tends to not mess with mortals unless say, he was trying to take someone dead back to the land of the living. So sadly no Hades. *shrug*
Yup even in the bit where he is speaking to the dead in the odessy hades never apears, although Minos does and I THINK some of the other underworld court, and Minos was kind of made to be a sort of delegated rule or spokesperson for the underworld in some myths so if hades does apear without appearing it’s via delegating etc
It's also been theorized that Hades wasn't as big as deal back then, but take this with a grain of salt. Remember, Ody in the original thinks it's PERSEPHONE sending spirits to taunt him, NOT Hades.
The only difference i wished you had made is to watch the live stream because it is ACTUALLY what jorge has deemed what happens in his stories and the animatics made specifically for the live stream were beautiful.
As a father, I love the odyssey. Also, 1000% would drop a baby from a wall if it meant getting back to my daughter. Tbh Odysseus’ slowness to “Dad up” and just start merking people irks me slightly lol.
The thing is even if he takes the baby, the gods will tell him what happened in the past. He will learn Odysseus attacked him home and the little kid will want revenge when he’s older. No matter what Odysseus did, the gods would tell the child the truth about his origins and he would want revenge in the future.
Fun fact about The Underworld: the souls are stuck singing their final thoughts from before they died The soldiers died blaming Odysseus for things going wrong Polites still believed in open arms His mom held onto the hope that she would see him come home
When you asked if Poseidon wanted Odysseus to kill Polyphemus the short answer is no. The long answer is when Poseidon said "Ypu totally could have avoided this of you had just killed my son...but noo..." it wasn't his fatherly pride that made him fight Odysseus fleet nor was it that he wants the Cyclops dead. More was it that he was annoyed that he had to get involved. Like all greek gods our lovely wet Hades here wasn't the fatherly type at all. So basicly what he was saying is: Why would you let him live AND tell him your name ffs now I have to do something bc my son told me to.
Your reaction is so amazing and I’m only on the horse in the infant right now as I’m watching. You should get more subscribers you’re incredible! Edit: kinda sad that some the songs got spoiled especially Done For and God Games
I know the full song of done for and god games bc I had to learn them for covers. The small clips in some songs are the popular ones that were everywhere on tiktok
I do know some clips from the musical on tiktok and got spoiled done for and god games. Also I'm annoying when it comes to singing along 😂😅
@@AwkwardIndividual not annoying at all!! Added to the experience for sure 😂

the fact you caught on to how athena copies odysseus' singing patterns when they meet before dropping it as she leaves is crazy

Hades is too much of a nice guy compared to other gods to annoy someome
Or if someone messes with Persephone. Damn Pirithous tried to used her as a bargaining chip, and didn't listen to Theseus.

Nha, not all the heores know all the gods, heracles never know Afrodita or Atenea, or even Poseidon, its random
the moment i saw u got attached to Polites i immediately went "oh no she's about to go through all 6 stages of grief for the next 2h" xd
The only difference i wished you had made is to watch the live stream because it is ACTUALLY what jorge has deemed what happens in his stories and the animatics made specifically for the live stream were beautiful.
The reason why he "sacraficed" 6 men to syclla is because at the start of the song you hear him say ' light six torches ' syclla has six heads

Being spoiled for God games before seeing the rest of the musical is wild since God games contains literally every spoiler lol
Yeah 😅 my friend wanted me to cover it with him, so I learned it before knowing I'd actually enjoy this a lot 😭
Contrary to recent media, Hades is the patron god of minding his own business; he's got enough on his plate with the influx of a ten year war.

for all the people saying Apollo, Helios is the god of the sun in the Odyssey not Apollo
Oooh
1:02:30 Hermes is actually Odysseus's great grandma soooo 😅
The Y in ody’s name makes the sound of the I in “it” not a hard E.

Was she not singing the songs before she started reacting?
probably heard it somewhere like TikTok or something, Epic is pretty popular on there..
She said she’s heard some of them from tiktok
Some sections of songs have become popular tiktok audios at some point or another
