Thank you so much! This one definitely has an underwater look to it. I didn't notice that until I walked away from it for a little while and looked at it again with fresh eyes.
Thank you! This is fantastic!! I say it all the time But I can’t help it Your a master at defining I want to practice my hat the weeks to come - layering and layering defining your object with different colors 🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏 Thanks for sharing and teaching us
Chris, I love how this one transformed, I love watching your process, and I love how you decided to add lots of blue which was not necessarily in the reference photo - it came together beautifully. Bravo ❤👏
I love this and it really helped me to learn how to make nature inspired abstract art. Thank you!😊 Don’t listen to others who can’t see beyond the “rules”!
It's a good reminder that you often need to add many layers to achieve the end result. It was with those last couple of layers that the white lines developed and merged into their final design. Often people stop those couple of layers too early. And many people think that they can get the result in only a couple of layers. When you watch a video like this it shows just how many layers it actually takes. Really like this piece. Do you have a video of something along the lines of creating the bark texture as you mentioned in the video? Would love to see something like that to give me an idea of how to approach it.
Thanks so much, Pure Sun! You’re absolutely right-those final layers can really bring everything together. It’s easy to think you’re done too early, but pushing through often leads to something special. I’ll have to work on a video showing that bark texture-great idea!
I think this is my favourite idea of yours so far. I Love the use of the spatula to reveal the underneath colour. I've actually saved this to my 'Have a go' collection! 👍
Fantastic, I like to take inspiration from nature, do you paint from your reminding? A nice colorcombination , thanks for showing, greetings from Germany
Beautiful, you have helped me. I was stuck on my recent heron painting that I posted for the area of the water/ marsh grass. I’m going to try some of your techniques.
Love the way you paint so intuitively...it really makes this image sing. Every time I drop on here I take away something else. Thanks Chris, always inspiring!
Hey Ann! #1-you're 100% correct, I need to do much better at wearing gloves. I'm going to put a check list in my studios with that as the number 1 item. #2-I'm curious why you don't think you can develop skills while playing. I think it is a great way to enhance and develop skills. Maybe not as structured as some exercises might be, but beneficial.
@chrisloudart I believe that play is exactly how you learn to develop your art. I happen to just realize recently that I ha ent done enough of playing, and I believe it has held me back from developing new marks and shapes.
This is definitely one of my favorites!!
Thanks so much, Shari!
Extremely nice! Not the image reference I expected because I thought it had an underwater feel towards the end.

Love what you have made here!!!
Thank you, Joanne!
Love this! More exciting than the original inspiration!
@@DawnoftheDay-mb7zt Thanks so much, Dawn!❤️
I like what's going on on either side of your painting. I always like my pallettes better than my paintings.
Thanks! I agree-I love peeling the dried acrylic paint off my palette and using it in other pieces.
Thank you! This is fantastic!!
I say it all the time
But I can’t help it

Thanks so much, Marion! ❤️ I paint sometimes from memory and occasionally from a photo. How about you? Greetings from Colorado!
That looks so cool!
Thanks, Debbie!❤️

I really appreciate it, Bev! I'm glad the intuitive painting style speaks to you.❤️
2 things ... no chemicals should be used without gloves... the cells are vulnerable. Also, Play is not developing skill its play....

@@chrisloudart no real work is developed thru skill... play is as youth without guidance.

Put your mask and gloves on and go to bed with the covers pulled over your head.
