None of this is exactly "untold". I did a report on him back in school when we were asked to write about our favorite celebrity. This even leaves out a lot of interesting factoids. Like that he was actually born in the elevator on the way up to the operating room. Or that he graduated as valedictorian at the age of 16. He also did the claymation for the music video for Jurassic Park, which I think is pretty cool. Coolest thing though, is that he knew he made it as a musician was when he met Paul McCartney at a party, and Paul excitedly said "Hey! Al is the best!!! Have loved him since the beginning!!!
💖🥰💖
One of the nicest celebs I’ve ever interviewed. -The Music Fan Man
Along with Elton John, Weird Al is truly an all time favorite artist. I have loved him since I was 5, which is pretty much when he started getting popular. I understood his weirdness and the humor, even as a child, and the rest is history. Thank you Al for so many decades of awesomeness!!!
If you haven’t seen UHF you’re doing yourself a huge disservice. It’s my favorite comedy of all time and worth the watch (free on YT).
It also should have been a hit in theaters when it first came out
You are so right!!
Agreed. For me it's a tie between UHF and Hot Rod, but UHF is absolutely criminally underrated and a fantastic movie. Michael Richards makes that movie for me.
@@chaosapiant now I’ve got that itch, gonna have to watch it for thousandth time tonight!
It was a truly funny film. Loved it and laughed hard.
At this point it seems to be an inevitable disappointment that 'The Compleat Al' didn't appear as even a footnote, even though it was a full-length film release.
DOn't know why this is the "Untold Story" Everything in this video is well documented about Al.
this man is a true legend of comedy music. i have been listining to weird al for over 20- 2 years of my life. keep up the great music al. never change keep doing you.
#1 Weird Al fan here. Off the Deep End was actually released in 1992. Alapalooza was released the following year in 1993. Also, Al didn't go into a slump after UHF. He was just taking his time to create and record.
I saw the version of "your pitiful" in a concert I went to in Meadowbrook MI. Let's just say it ended with with yankovic wearing a t-shirt and SpongeBob underwear!
i remember having white and nerdy on my ipod shuffle back in the day lol good times
This man is a legend. "Behold the floating magical orb!!! woooooooh! whoaaaaaaa! soup's on!"
Girl: this is why i slammed his face down on the barbecue grill.
2 of my favorite Weird Al songs are actually not even parody songs. Both One More Minute and You Don't Love Me Anymore.
Both great songs! I've always loved You Make Me and Hardware Store
But you don't love me anymore is hilarious!!!
@@donnamcadams5564 Not sure what the "But" is for in your comment. You will find no arguments here.
@@jeremybr2020 I don't think I ever laughed so hard listening to a song before. It's so funny 🤣
“Weird Al” Yankovic did a great job on his parody songs/music videos between 1980s and 2010s.
🙂
Literally an icon , legend, goat, one of a kind.
I live in Pennsylvania and my uncle loves to tell me that in the 90s the local radio station had a request time and when amish paradise was released for the entire request time every request was for amish paradise.
When Weird Al spoof a track, that track even becomes bigger
"He who's tired of Weird Al is tired of life."
I credit this man for my acceptance that whilst i will never be cool, that was totally ok.
My second favourite musician after pink floyd.
Never forget that he lend his voice as Wreck-Gar in the 1986 Transformers The Movie. We all "Dare To Be Stupid".
Al also graduated college as the Valedictorian at age 20. He literally is a genius in every respect of the word.
He graduated high school as a valedictorian at 16
A few months ago, i went to a bar and got really drunk. I went on karaoke and i chose to sing Eat it by weird al
The greatest feeling in the world is being early to a Weird Al-related video.
Favorite Weird Al song:
Pick ANY song off of one of his 14 albums
UHF is one of the greatest films ever to grace the silver screen.
My favorite Weird Al song is definitely White and Nerdy.
Mine too. Funny as heck Donny Osmond dancing in the background. Guess he doesn't mind being white and nerdy!
If I had a song Weird Al wanted to record I'd say yes in a heartbeat
"Weird Al" Yankovic
Jim "Kimo" West
Steve Jay
Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz
Rubén Valtierra
Thank you, gentlemen, for all these years!
Love this guy! Always 😆
Weird Al, the Lonely Island, and Flight of the Concords were my whole childhood. I dream of working with any of them
I was a huge fan when I was little and remember buying all the Weird Al albums I could find... Running with Scissors was one of the first albums I actually remember looking forward to and got the day it was released. I saw him live once but wish I could again. Such a good musician and seems like a genuine person.
I’d wondered when I first heard the movie coming out if weird Al had okayed it because there was so much that was untrue so it’s great to hear that he wrote or co-wrote the script!
He's in the trailer playing the record executive
Yes. I figure that since he co-wrote it, he could make up whatever he wants! However much fact or fiction is in it, we'll still just EAT IT!
Holy cow I didn't know about the bio pic??!! I've never been this excited for a bio pic!!!!
You did sample my first (The Saga Begins) and third (Amish Paradise) favourites, but didn't even mention my second favourite (Like a Surgeon). That one was excellent!
I grew up watching and laughing with Weird Al's work. In the 80s MTV started with JJ Jackson. I would record Weird Al and many other music videos on our VCR. Flashback to many great times. But I never knew Weird Al would ask to make his parodies. He has respect for those that said yes or no. That's really cool. Rock On Weird Al.
Al pays every artist for the rights to parody their songs.
@@sophiet1576 Cheaper to pay the artist. Then it would be to get sued. I still enjoyed watching Weird Al on MTV in the 80s.
I've said it before and I'll say it again A Weird Al Half-time show would be the most viewed Half-time show ever. You're sitting on a gold mine #NFL
