It’s crazy how every body responds differently to these meds!!!! I honestly wouldn’t imagine that girls could get depressed because of nexplanon, since my experience with it was the exact opposite of that. Since I got the implant, I truly got the excitement to LIVE again. I really mean that!!! My periods were leading me to a deep depression and I can’t even describe the physical pain I used to have too. Finally free from all of this!

@@eduardajasse It's awesome you have had great results. My daughter also had great results up until just a little over 2 years of having it in. She started having really bad acne, anxiety, mood swings, depression. It was debilitating to the point she had to drop out of college for a bit. She had it removed almost 2 weeks ago and starting to feel much better. We will continue to record her progress as time proceeds. Just want to give you a heads up in case you start to get have any of these side effects. My best to you.

My personal experience was horrible. I’ve always had a regular period right until I got the implant inserted, from then on I just bleed irregularly and never have peace of mind with it. But that isn’t even the worst part. The absolute worst for me is the mood swings, I get irritated because of the smallest things, I am paranoid all the time, anxious, panicked. Can’t have a conversation without feeling annoyed and wanting to lash out on whoever I’m talking to. It has affected several personal relationships and I hate it. People have always described me as the sweetest and happiest person ever, like I would brighten up their days and now it’s just the complete opposite.
Hormonal acne is bad, it seems like all the previous appointments with my Dermatologist were in vain. I have an extremely low sex drive (which is uncommon). It seems like all my emotions turned off and I can’t feel a single good thing in my body. I’m bloated ALL the time, I hate looking at myself in the mirror, my face is round and no matter how many times and how hard I work out it never goes away.
I’m really looking forward to getting it removed. It is my first time using a hormonal contraceptive and don’t know what to get on next, or even if I should get on something else. I just want to feel like myself again because right now it feels like I’m living inside someone I can hardly recognize.

I looked it up and apparently mood swings isn’t a side effect that stays and but reading these comments it seems like everybody is experiencing the same thing! Spotting every day, really emotional, crying loads, fatigue, bloating, migraine, it dried up down below if you get me and the bruise on my arm never went away. I didn't feel like me anymore. I definitely don't want to get pregnant again right after this one so im doing my research 😂. I'm so surprised by the comments that you're all okay with not getting your periods. I think it might be a little bit different for every person. So far I've had my nexplanon for about 2 or 3 months but it's been a positive experience for me. I'm a virgin so the reason why I got birth control is because of the painfulness of my periods. It got to the point where I was nearly passing out, so when it came time for me to choose a birth control I wanted something I didn't have to worry about that might affect my period by causing me to not have it or at least have reduced periods. And it did do that for me in the periods I've had since then mine have been regular the same time and the same amount of days that I've had before I took an explanon but the pain is soooo much less. And a lot of the other side effects you mentioned I haven't really experienced. Even the depressive mood I would feel a little bit depressed at times but I was feeling depressed at times before I got an Nexplanon as well, and a part of that was the painfulness of my periods. Also my acne didn't really change and I was able to lose weight while I was on nexplanon as well so I think part of it might have been because I already had a hormonal imbalance before I took it so this might have just helped balance my hormones a little bit, but if your hormones aren't unbalanced then it might not be a good idea for you especially with all the side effects that are being mentioned.

I’ve had nexplanon for 6 months and I’ve had my period 70% of the time. Literally only had 8 weeks without it in 6 months and it’s always lasted 2 weeks OR MORE. Aswell as that, I’ve been tired, moody and low sex drive. Not worth it, especially as there’s other ways out there and my relationship with my boyfriend is more important than sex.

I will have mine for 6 months in a couple of weeks, been a horrible experience so far. I’ve tracked my periods and it seems I get it every 2 weeks, with random spotting in the middle. I used to have regular periods but now it’s all over the place and my acne has gone crazy, huge big pimple on my face and scalp. Tired and irritated easily.
I got the rod to see if it’ll help with period pain and blood loss during periods, which it actually did for a little while, my periods were light and I felt no pain! But after two months the pain has slowly been coming back, big head aches, stomach issues and now I’m bleeding more through out the month than I ever had before.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and she said that bleeding this much is normal which it definitely is not! I’m almost anemic because of it and she tells me it’s normal? I told her about my skin which is breaking out all over my chin and jaw and she said it looked fine, she just dismissed all my worries and left me with no answers or how to help. She said to come back in 6 months but I don’t want to suffer for another 6 months.
I’ve been documenting how it’s been affecting me so hopefully when I get my new doctor she can see how bad it’s been for me. Sorry for the rant but I’m just happy to see other people feel the same ♥️

I got the implant a month after having my son… when I say I feel tired all the time. Been feeling these fluttering feelings in my lower abdomen like I still have a baby inside me but I don’t..
I had like a spotting thing two for two weeks or a week in 1/2. I got tired of all this bloating feeling nonstop. I lost like 13 pounds then once I got the implant. i gained all the weight back that I lost from having my son. My lower back hurts all the time and I constantly feel a pinching 🤏 feeling by my implant all the time even when I lift weight I’ll feel it.
Im ready to take this out I made an appointment and hopefully I can get it removed. I was 160 when I found out I was pregnant and I gained 30 pounds. Then before I got the implant I was dropping the pounds I got down to 170 then I got the implant in my arm and I’m back up to 180 something 190 again as if I’m pregnant all over again I’m just over it….

Then, i was getting my periods regularly. My lastest period was back in September but it was very faint and light. Since then, I've been tired, my breast hurts, and etc.

The side-effects for me are having irregular periods - had it in for 2 years now and I mostly get 2 periods a month that last for 5+ days, sometimes get once a month but that's not usual. Maybe slightly more acne, not too much though and the first 3 weeks after insertion I was SO anxious, but that got better after that. It's not ideal but at least no babies or weight gain!

Most of the time I don't even feel it every once in awhile I'll feel like a little bit but then it goes away and I don't feel it at to me it's a whole lot better than the painful periods I was having and I still am able to lose weight since I've gone on a bit of exercise and diet journey since I got the next put on and lost eight pounds in one week. I got the implant roughly 7months ago as I had a scare and health care professionals told me there was no side effects with the implant...utter joke! It has ruined my relationship, I haven no desire whatsoever for sex with my husband who I deeply adore and love and prior to the implant we would have sex at least once a day and after the implant it's like once a month and it takes a lot to get me in "the mood", this has left my husband feeling like I no longer desire him and makes him feel utterly unattractive or like Im not attracted to him, which I totally am I just have no desire for sex part. I have the worest mood swings and get wound up and paranoid over the tinest thing which i never was like, it used to take a lot to get on my nerves but now i literally just need to look at someone and i want to kill them, my husband leave a draw slightly open and i want to kill him, its ridiculous and i know it but i just cant seem to control the anger!
I've always suffered from anxiety so I can't say if it's made me anxious or not but I am constantly tired, I sleep 12hours a day and can still fall asleep after such a long sleep.
I weirdly feel like my body has aged a bit since having it too, I know it sounds strange but it looks different and I'm only 25 and always slim athletic build with flat stomach but since on it my skins got a bit more loose and wrinkly/ dehydrated and I Cary some weight on my lower stomach which I never did before. My periods are all over the place and can last the whole month some times and come back a week later after I think it's stopped. Before the implant my periods were painful for first 2 days and lasted about 6/ 7 days but they were regular, just a normal period and i would much rather have this back again!
I gave it the best shot to see if it would work for me but it's done nothing but ruin my life and symptoms get worse.
I'm getting it taken out the moment I get back from my traveling!
The only benifit ive had from it is less spots but now i really couldnt give a shit about a pimple..i just want myself back.
