Brisker is an elite tackler and has an amazing nose for the runner, but he struggles in coverage. This dude would be a HoF'er if he was 2 inches taller and 30 pounds heavier.
Andrew Billings is the heart of the D line, it's hard to choose favorites, Brisker, Gordon, Dexter, Taylor, Byard, but the one that is all pro is Jaylon Johnson, he is the alpha, so happy he is a chicago bear, shout out to him and Poles for getting a contract done.
Agreed, JJ is arguably the best DB in the NFL right now. It’s unfortunate he hasn’t really been acknowledged as a top 3 NFL DB (I don’t think he even made the pro-bowl last year, did he? He deserves it for sure, but I don’t think he made it). Regardless, I’m super happy The Bears realized how skilled he is & gave him a long contract. Its such a big advantage to have a shutdown db who you can put up against ANYONE & essentially remove the opposing teams biggest weapon from the game. That’s a BIG DEAL! Kyler Gordon is also starting to look like a star… I think it’s not a stretch to say that the Bears have the best secondary in the NFL (with everyone healthy at least).
Which is somewhat understandable when you consider how the rules have focused on having a league that emphasizes the pass. If you can stop a teams passing game, it's going to be easier to win.
I actually think our run defense is pretty good despite being ranked 18th…. We just have a tendency to give up a handful of explosive run plays a game that skew the stats a little bit. This defense is definitely cooking
I see people here complain about their run defense but all I see is Lovey's bend but don't break defense. I used to complain about run yards the Bears would give up back then. Years later I realized their run defense is more like bait. Watch the timing of it. It helps set up the passing games take-aways. The bears are dangerous. Very!!!
That first play had bad route concept. All of the receivers ran into coverage or had the back to the qb. If one or two of them had looked earlier he would have gotten it out.
Relax my guy, we’re only about 1 qtr of the season in, and we haven’t seen any elite offenses (maybe Houston) yet. Let’s see how good they are in the 2nd half of the season where our quality of opponent shoots up. If the defense holds up then, I’ll be convinced.
So Andy Dalton, with 5 separate playoff apoearances with 539 yards his last two starts inckuding 319 against Las Vegas is not a real QB. It is good to think before you speak Make yourself look bad
Brisker has been playing probably the best ball of his career. Hopefully he gets healthy

@@hawkeyez46jj was in the pro bowl last year along with sweat
I'm starting my bears 🐻 defense against jaguars this week 6😊
I always appreciate your Bears content and gladly reward you with a LIKE every time. Thanks Matty!
Every single aspect of the defense is good EXCEPT the run D. The run D is just ok. It isn’t bad but it’s like 18th or something in the nfl.
Which is so weird cuz it was 1st last year and they didn’t make many changes
@@rtatluri01true but it was the passing that kills us I rather give up runs than huge passing game threatening bombs lol

@@rtatluri01they lost their run stopping DT Justin Jones to the Cardinals in FA, that’s why the run D regressed
IM A GERVON DEXTER FAN. REMEMBER HIS DRAFT DAY. IM READY. LOVED IT
The Bears defense has looked GREAT! But we have not seen an elite offense yet this season
Ummmm Texans? Matthew Stafford ain't a scrub either.
@@DEEZYD1230stafford was missing his receivers but he is a Dawg.
Texans are a top tier offense in the nfl
Houston Texans?

Only real weakness of this defense as Bears fan is the against the run
Big Dex!

Against the pass yes, but that's about it

First down has been better
Up and coming.......? You clearly don't watch football. Bears defense has been doing this for a while 🐻⬇️
Pump the brakes a little. We haven't played an elite offense yet.
As much as I love my bears, our defense still hasn’t played a real quarterback
Cj? Stafford?
@@LuisGarcia-wq7ih those are two really good qbs
Bro stop bears defense elite they shut Brock purdy down last year
Your the definition of a casual fan and you make the fanbase look bad. Your saying in 10 games we haven’t a played a good qb ?
WELL STAFFORD WON A SUPER BOWL AND CJ SHROUD IS ALREADY CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST...
