Is am7 better to use?.. i take my index to 1st fret 5th string, put pinky to 3rd fret 6th, then C, then G... Easier and same sound... Is this not correct?

I suggest to practice it more and more. Don't try to slow it down though because that seems to do more harm to players then it does good. I guess just more practice. For a simpler strumming, just do four down strokes on each count.

Once again your C maj chord is a C2 or 9 depending on how your looking at it. When it comes to part writing you should never double the 5th of a chord as it makes the chord sound empty. The important notes are the root C or the 3rd E. Those are the notes that should be doubled and not the G. I know you play your C that way for convenience But to a trained musician like myself the chord sounds empty! You would be much better served to play a C in the normal fingering as your moving from am to C anyway. I realize bad habits are hard to break. However you really shouldn't be teaching bad habits either.
