Oh my goodness! I subscribed to this channel way back when y’all were on the Great America Farm Tour. Immediately I was smitten 🥰 by the love you all exude! For the last 40 years I’ve mostly lived overseas; Turkey, Portugal, now Japan (almost 38 years). I watch this channel every day and I’m reminded of how wonderful Americans can be! Our politicians are idiots, but we: you and me white, black, brown, yellow, whatever; we are beautiful people! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful life, Justin and Rebeka! And you’ve raised wonderful children! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
I just can't imagine either of you with anyone else. Typical man...wanting to fix the situation, not really hearing the issue. Typical woman...not fully expressing, but thinking the other should know. Couples, young and old, should listen to the two of you. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite part of this video is where you tell how your parents clearly did not get along, yet never spoke a negative word about the other to you kids. My adoration of Boots lives on.
The 2 other channels that I watch I discovered through yours: The Hollars and Sow the Land - Are they not both high school sweethearts as well?! Your family dynamic is just lovely and healthy and as a couple, it is inspiring to see how you two volley respect and humor; as well you both seem so gracious. Thank you so much for sharing.
OMG WE SHARE THE SAME DATE!!!I WAS 16 GOING ON 17 WHEN I MET MY HUSBAND. JAN 23, 1996. WE WAITED 18YRS BEFORE WE WAS WED. Now we never really fight. And when we do its really short lived. He is my best friend. You all got it right!!
Wow this is very interesting, you two have followed a very contorted path to get to where you are now and this is only the first two instalments. Looking forward to the rest of your story.
Communication ~ Good point about men struggling with listening. Pastor Lew told my husband and I when we visited with him before our wedding, "First, never go to bed mad at one another. Talk it through even if it takes til the sun comes up. Second, Husbands remember to listen, and Wives, remember to listen. Three, Hold onto one another, even in the hardest of times. Never let go!" My Mom told me once, when I was upset at my husband for not listening to me, she said "Men want to fix it, Woman want to talk about it" Truth bomb!!
Oh my goodness! I love these videos and you all even more.... “we were always the weird ones,... swimming counter culture”. YOU ARE MY PEOPLE!!!!!🙋🏼♀️❤️😊😍
I just want to say how great-full I am for you guys, and Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I pray that God guides and protects your family for generations to come.
I am so enjoying this 5 part series...lol...you guys are a hoot 😁 Love getting to know your back story. Standing here in my kitchen, with my ear piece in and my phone standing in the windowsill, doing dishes, feeling as if I'm enjoying a good visit with my lovely friends. Hope you are all enjoying your well deserved vacation and that your Christmas will be filled God's amazing love and His deep abiding Peace.
Awesome 👍 😁❣️ I totally understand the years before the marriage. We have 7 yrs between dating/ marriage. And heading to a total of 50 yrs together, on 10-15-20....... Same high school, he graduated the year I started....met at my neighbors house...
Started watching 6months ago. Love learning from all you do. Have you ever gone to a functional Dr? My brother lives un VA. His wife also has an autoimmune disease and thyroid problems. For years she just never felt right. As a nurse, I know when we do Labs on patients we group everybody's results into certain values that everyone is suppose to fit in. The problem with that is everybody's metabolisms are different. Functional doctors individualized for each patient. I have to say I've honestly have to say I never heard of one until my sister-in-law told me about it. She's never felt better. Just wanted to share that with you in case you ever have problems. You look healthy and beautiful. The kindness and compassion you share warms my heart.
You are Married and evolved together. That is how I explain how my wife and I have been happily married for what will be 30 years. GOD Bless you and your family !
Love this! My husband and I have been married 38 years. Learning to fight fair with the "l feel" this way.... Well if we had it to do over again the first 15 years of our own insecurities would have been smoother! I wasn't good at expressing my needs and he was baffled a lot cause I sulked. We raised 3 wonderful children, all grown and living on our property or less than 2 miles with 5 grandsons.... Love your story
I would love to see some photos that go with the stories. These are good video and it is nice getting to know you . Hope you get some time with Uncle Pete.
Do you take your kids to church. You are such wonderful parents with strong values. The most important thing you can give and teach your children is about God. Hope you have a blessed Christmas.
I Love it. Details about your history of meeting each other for the first time at church, learning the good & evil, caring & listening, talking about things you want in life while praying & hearing from God. Love this peaceful Vlog about What We Fight About.
you guys got together the year i was born, you have the sweetest relationship never stop being the way you are, i enjoy your content thank you so much 😊
Justin, I hope you've had time to watch this video. It is so special the way Rebekah looks at you. And that smile. In all of your vlogs, I see her smile. But I only see this smile and her eyes light when she looks at you. This is exactly how I look at my husband.Twenty two years tomorrow and it seems like I married him yesterday. What we fight about? Nothing! We've had one argument 21 1/2 yrs ago. God bless and be safe.
@@TRuth.T Your life has been blessed.Congratulations on 45 years. That is amazing. My grandmother told all of us grandchildren, when you find the person you want to be with for the rest of your life...demand respect, only then will love follow. God bless you and your family.Have a Merry Christmas!
Love your story. We met in 89 and married in 97, still together 30 years. Relationships like this are amazing because of the closeness. Love your channel and your family.
High schools sweethearts here at 16 as well Meeting at a church event. Blessed and 5 kids, homeschoolin and farming. Love your story and humility! Love seeing your crazy in love about each other!
You guys don't live "different" you live the way it should be and was way back when. You are living right...but society has pushed your lifestyle out. So its different to most now....but it shouldn't be. Love you all ✌💛🇨🇦
I love you two your relationship sounds so much like my hubby's and mine he was 17 and I was 14 when we got married we were also best friends growing up.we married 42 yrs ago and had 3 wonderful kids and we're still going strong. I love watching your videos.
I was also 14, he was 17! Met in '97, first baby in 2003, married in 2005 lol. Second and last baby in 2007. We like to do things out of order! LMBO! Cheers!
I love the fact that you are Christians. Before I knew that I could tell. Bless you and your family. It’s so refreshing to see a good and wholesome relationship that defers to one another. Thank you!
Hi Becky. I had a similar experience with blood work. I was diagnosed Hypothyroid after the birth of my first child. And I went to an endocrinologist, who prescribed the typical dose of the typical synthetic medication...but I suffered for a couple years because my condition was not inside their paradigm. I didn't fit. And I also did not have a good internet resource. However, I was lucky to encounter a couple good nurses, who (on the sly) gave me great advice. I actually changed my own blood orders (they were on paper then) to finally get some answers. The best thing that happened was a nurse telling me about Armour Thyroid. And every doctor tried to stop me or talk me out of it. Also, years ago I started eating as much pastured, organic food as I could find or afford, and giving up grains and sugar. I am glad to see you two as great role models for healthy living.
Wow guys, super cool, crazy how you put yourself out there but I’m down for someone like yourselves setting the example! Thank you for contributing to a greater cause and better life for us all through that example. Happy vacation n holliday
And I actually found your channel googling videos on Laura Ingalls Wilder for my homeschool co-OP class that I teach. I found your video on her farm and I fell in love with you. We have 30 chickens. We aren't really homesteaders but I'm so fascinated!
I love hearing you talk about praying and being active in your church. A foundation of faith leads to a successful life. Thank you for sharing your personal story!
I absolutely love you two and your expanding family . I’m a true believer of fate and Karma and you have proved that in this video , fate that you met and Karma that life as got you to where you are now - along with hard work obviously . So glad I found you while in lockdown in the Uk last year and now you are my coffee video every single day before work - which is at home still as we are back in lockdown . I’ve taken tips for my vegetables and am happily growing my own , but most of all I just love following your family and can’t wait to meet Snowball. So basically thank you x
I am so enjoying this vlog as I do all of yours. We are married 53 years and were also high school sweethearts and I am glad to see the proof in the pudding that nothing much has changed....LOL You two are so genuinely cute and loving of each other. Even the old memories of "iffy" jealous moments looked like the memories hint a cord....so that means you all did care then and care now still. God bless and keep on doing what you are doing......You're so refreshing! Love this channel!
I’ve been following your family and story quite awhile. My heart was so sad when your Dad passed on, but so thankful he knew Jesus. So now listening to your story about how you both grew up helped answer some questions I had. Like did you go to church, do you know Jesus as your personal Savior, do you take your children to Church or have devotions with them? It sounds like you both have a solid background in the Word. It’s so important to teach your children those principles also. God bless you folks and love what your doing and have so much enjoyed your homesteading. II Samuel 22:29; John 8:12. Merry Christmas 🎄
I love this story. My brother is 47 years old and he married his kindergarten sweetheart. They have 2 boys that are over 20 and a cute lil boy that is 3. They are still going strong!
Most guys are geared to hear a problem and immediately want to fix it or start brainstorming a solution. We are simple creatures; project, solution, BJ.
I watch your videos and assume I know you two but after realizing the vlogs are only a snipit of your whole life I am so much more impressed with you two and I believe it is both of you being so open. I have been married for over 52 years and still cannot keep my mouth shut till she is done talking so I can figure out if it is just talk or asking for help. I also have realized that the two most important words in Marriage are " Yes Dear".
Men want to solve problems, women want to talk and talk. Basic psychology...so you are normal, dont even try to change each other. Iwas 17 when we met. Dated less than a month. Married as soon as i turned 18 and he had just turned 21......i am not sure it will last....55 years so far.
You are at your prime from age 15 to 25. What disappointed me in the Catholic Church when I was young (I am now 61) was that you entered the church without talking to anyone, and left the church after Mass, without talking to anyone, except to be greeted by the priest. Can see you both are very much in love. Growing up together seems to increase the chance of a happy marriage!
My husband and I never “fight”, we have disagreements and we discuss it. 25 years of friendship and love and we are each other’s best friends. We have never used words that hurt, you can’t take those words back and the hurt stays in the heart. We never want to hurt each other, so mutual love and respect.
We...my hubby and I have been married for 47 years. Started dating when I was 15 and half...he was 18 and half. We dated for 3 and half years and engaged for almost a year. So we grew up together also. Have 5 adult children and 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild! Born and live in northern California! We are city folks who would enjoy some country living! We are DIYers! Great stories. Thanks for sharing! Really enjoying the videos!
My husband and I are from the Jacksonville, NC area. We started dating when I was 13, him 17. We dated off an on for 4 yrs. We married on the day he turned 22 (his birthday) I was 17 at that time. We have been married for 47 yrs. Two children (1) boy (1) girl. 3 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons. My husband did 29 yrs in the Army. We have traveled all over. We lived 9 yrs in Germany, 18 months in Colorado, 6 yrs in Louisiana, 2 yrs Ft Bragg, NC, 2 yrs in Va. ( live at Ft Bragg twice) Texas (for 18 months) moved to Georgia in 1995, have been here ever since. My husband did work in Kuwait from 2001 - 2008 (after retiring from the Army). While living in Germany, we traveled to Denmark, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, France, London England, Scotland. We have been to Canada. Finally retiring in Georgia. All my siblings and his live in NC. Since retiring we do missions trips with our church, Haiti every yr, Dominican Republic every yr, Africa every 2 yrs, Puerto Rico just once, Cherokee NC every yr, Shelby NC every yr., my husband does Guatemala every 2 yrs. God has truly blessed us. So my prayer to you both, is to have a very blessed, full and long lasting life. Enjoy those children, they are awesome. God bless you all.
OMG! I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 17, too! But mine evolved in about a month, lost 20kg in 15 days. Am 24 now and just got off the meds :D Feels like life is under control at last (as much as it can be, lol). They found out it was auto immune three years after I got sick, and then about three more to balance my system. It's cool to find other ppl who've been through something similar... Hope we can give hope to teens out there going through chronic illnesses, you guys will get better and learn to balance your needs and feel better. Love to you guys S2
I see so much stress in both of you sharing this. Wrinkles in your foreheads. I want to tell you both don't stress, we adore you both very much, please keep sharing.
My husband of 50 years and I met at age 11 and were a couple since age 12. We worked out all those dumb issues by the time we were married age 19 and 20. Service in first two of marriage gone a lot didn’t help in some ways but made us appreciate each other. We are opposites and so different. But those differences have helped us. It’s ok to be different. But like you we grew up together. We learned how to work our differences out. We argue but never have had a huge blow out fight. Listening is key. One being an extrovert and one being an introvert was hard Is hard but loving the other person and caring more about them than yourself works for us. Appreciate you sharing your story.
This is a sweet story. About 4 yrs ago one day i ask God for a girl for my son someone who would love him as much as he would love her (my sons a really good person)anyways, he meant this girl one day she is so sweet and the way she looks at him you can see the love in her in both them. I just wanted to say that.
You guys are amazing. I loved your story about meeting. So cute! I watch your channel everyday. Your kids are equally amazing. Such a credit to you both. Love from England x
Justin, you said something there when you pointed out that not listening thoroughly enough is "a lot of guys' problem". I've heard that in talks on marriage at our congregation, as well as from the guy who wrote that book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". And, Rebecca, "not speaking my needs" is a good point too! As young as y'all are, your good upbringing and your thoughtfulness, wisdom, and maturity are evident.
My partner and I have been together for about 25 years now. We don’t fight: we bicker sometimes! We tell people our relationship runs like clockwork - you can tell by the way we wind each other up! But it’s never serious stuff. Our minds work very differently on some things, but we’ve discovered that makes us a strong team. Tolerance is one of the most important things in any relationship. Effective communication is probably the most important of all.
Totally love the share, yes - all men try to solve the problem for their mate, instead of just listening - which we are terrible at directly asking...and growing together is key, blessings always!
High School sweat hearts. Married at 18 and 20. 20 years together this past September and married 17 in February. Ups and downs wouldn't trade a minute of it for the world.
Oh my goodness! I subscribed to this channel way back when y’all were on the Great America Farm Tour. Immediately I was smitten 🥰 by the love you all exude! Yes sir!!! Beauty is found in all things. Have a beautiful day!!
I searched school bus conversion one time... who would have known the road would have lead me to know and love the Rhodes family.
Ah, that's a fun story.
This is how I found them too! It just showed up in my suggested videos once because I like watching tiny house videos (I assume).
I just can't imagine either of you with anyone else.
Typical man...wanting to fix the situation, not really hearing the issue. Typical woman...not fully expressing, but thinking the other should know.
Couples, young and old, should listen to the two of you. Thanks for sharing!
Communication is the key to a relationship / marriage. So glad that you both are so open and can talk about this.
My favorite part of this video is where you tell how your parents clearly did not get along, yet never spoke a negative word about the other to you kids. My adoration of Boots lives on.
I’m liking this series!
don't worry about the time Justin. listening to y'alls history is fascinating
Love that y’all are high school sweethearts! My husband and I are HS sweethearts and have been married almost 18 years.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts as well . We've been together 25 years this April💕
High school sweethearts here too! 30 years married in May!
Best show on TV OR UA-cam! 27 minutes went by in a flash!
What made me smile most during this video, was when you both said you were in church when you met. I am enjoying hearing about your journey.

Y'all, I laughed through this whole thing. So happy to call you friends.

BTW that holiday is Martin L. King birthday
Oh, no....I want to know about the "I thought we were dating"....Laughing so hard- ya'll are a hoot.
Yes, seems like there could be a fun story behind that.
Justin: shy, can't make friends
Also Justin: talks to over half a million "friends" via video daily
Hearing your story is amazing. I can see a lot of Justin in Jona. Work ethic is something you just to don't see in young kiddos today.
I am so absolutely envious of you two. You two are inspiring.

Communicating directly and fully without offending. One big problem for humankind. You guys are an awesome couple. It shows in your children.

What a wonderful journey. Waiting for the next part eagerly
FYI: Hashimoto's Disease/Thyroiditis was discovered by Dr. Hakaru Hashimoto in 1912 in Japan.
Not all Catholic Churches are like that.
Very nice story guys. I think being friends first is the real key. Congratulations to you both. Have a Blessed day.
This perspective of your divorced family is very close to home. I’m older than you but can relate❤️
I love these stories! Thank you for sharing!
I am also liking this series. I hope your family time is an awesome adventure

This is so much fun! I love starter stories. 😊❤️
Love this episode. Such great guidance.
This is a sweet story. About 4 yrs ago one day i ask God for a girl for my son someone who would love him as much as he would love her (my sons a really good person)anyways, he meant this girl one day she is so sweet and the way she looks at him you can see the love in her in both them. I just wanted to say that.
It is so fun to hear your story! Thanks for sharing with us! 💜💜
This is great, loving getting to know you from your early days
