My favorite parts are when I find myself taking a pause to think about the overall setup, and then I see Joey take a pause to think about the overall setup as well. I love this hobby!
The theme for this entire channel was done was summarized in one quote in this video- “you’re probably thinking , I can’t do this” and then Joey looks right at you through the camera “yes you can”. Good motivation!
Don't worry about how often you upload Joey, we miss you while you're gone but we know you have a life outside of youtube. YOU actually helped me last night. I was at home depot trying to figure out what to put on top of my storage unit that's kind of more like a shed but the top is made of tarp and it's weather damaged so everything inside is now getting weather damaged. So I was trying to figure out what I can put on top of there and I thought of what you put on top of your 1000gal tank and now I have a plan. Haven't done it yet because I wanted to measure how much material I'm going to need so I'm probably going to do that today and get the supplies tomorrow. So thank you Joey for the extremely helpful tip! 😆
You might want to consider a riverine setup featuring Barilius ardens (hill trout). Adding some nice lighting can create beautiful refractions over the fast-moving water surface.
Best of luck with this wooden aquarium. It's quite the undertaking and most of us appreciate the amount of planning, and work, that you have put into it. Also a belated congratulations on your marriage. May it last forever. ❤❤😊😊😊
Hello Joey, I love your videos and this 16 foot tank is amazing. I truly believe that if you added sand water fall and have it come down with moss with all of those community fish....this will probably be the most beautiful and creative community tank ever built.
For the top bracing I would consider using plywood. With outward pressure it won’t split like 2x10. You can also place double plywood with the top plywood a couple inches thinner so there’s a place to rest a lid
I just hope to see larger schools of small species than we are used to seeing. Not 12 each, not even 24. 48+ each!😂 Just the whole length full of life!
Team king and queen of DIY Love the tank Joey, that was my favourite tank you built back in the day you know that square one keep up the great work love all the videos you guys put out ❤see you guys on the next one
Crazy build. I like the idea of a long aquarium. I considered a 12' glass tank at one point but stopped at 6'. I'd like to get a 10'+ tank at some point.
I've been following your UA-cam since i was a teenager, im now 31😂 always look forward to new build videos! One of these days ill get around to building a giant plywood tabk of my own!
This is going to be an epic build Joey when you’re done. I really like the dimensions on it as it’s going to be easy to work on. Is your plan to keep it a certain biotope or just different schooling fish?
Since this building is turning out to house permanent aquariums, you should build another building and call it the DIY building. That way you can set up tanks then tear them down all the time.
A large school of Diamond tetras may look good with the Ultim Angels. maybe black skirts too. Perhaps a few true Siamese Algae Eaters for a heavily planted tank for Algae control besides the Plecos.
for this nice community tank you need atleast 640 plant.. :) then the aquarium will be a natural tank.. and supports its self.. no outside filter needed all is inside.. :)
4:30 - Probably armor-piercing bullets would puncture it, but not go through. Just a foot of water is enough to stop regular bullets (the aquarium would be bust).
I've always been curious about building a tank like this. When considering overbuilding/over engineering the tank/design, is there any reason why you didn't use wood glue to laminate the wood? The wood glue bond would be stronger than any screw/bolt could ever be.
The size vs the actual amount of gallons it will hold is deceiving. I was thinking it would be around 1000 gallons. I'm excited to see it finished and stocked. Hurry up, Joey.... 😂
The tank is looking good you said you want to challenge yourselfI think it would be a good challenge to wrap the whole tank around the room in the L shape or in U shape I am sure how you would feel to that and keep flow in it
I used your initial playwood tank blueprint to build a reptile tank (shared on facebook years ago I think) - now I need to replace it and just like you - I overdid it lol ... I got NO idea how to take it apart again without brute force lol.
How are you going to fix the acrylic to the tank? I’m in the process of doing a small 200g plywood and a 800g. Figure a smaller test run would be a good idea lol
Amazon swords & RT Lotus , if you put 3 - 5 ( a cluster of Amazon swords ) towards 1 side whatever corner of your best viewing angle but which corner should also have a pretty steep slope and that will have your Altums feeling better and then you will have the sweetest scape since T got waxed 😷
Do you use US gallons or Imperial gallons in Canada? Also, as far as incorrectly calculating the amount of gallons in an aquarium, this can have implications when having to medicate the tank for outbreaks of diseases etc.
Sadly - after seeing this - I think the whole room would be amazing with perimeter tanks like this and a super awesome tank in the middle - That would mean getting rid of the 2000G
The biggest aquarium UA-camr and still builds everything himself. Legend.
We all know this tank is done , running and stocked ...can't wait to see the complete tank ..good work Joey
I hadn't considered this, but I bet you're right. Joey is such a tease, making us wait to see the final results. 😆
Just watched, can believe I’ve been watching you 7 years.

I keep going back to watch your plywood tank builds from time to time. I love this builds. I’m working on my own plywood tank soon.
"I just couldnt wait to put my wood in it" "I dont have as much wood as i thought I did" At the end of the day, every man thinks alike.
🤣 absolutely
FACTS 😂
when he first saw Lewinsky
Came to the comment section, just to point this out! Ofcourse someone is ahead of me! 😂😂😂
Hur dur no
Awesome, can't wait for the next update. I'm curious how the blue epoxy will look...
This aquarium build is totally unique (in my experience) and I'm here for it! Nowhere else have I seen anyone making something like this.
Dimensions changed a bit. This will make sense in the next video!
448 gallons going by rough internal dimensions. 183.5" x 24" x 23.5"
You might want to consider a riverine setup featuring Barilius ardens (hill trout). Adding some nice lighting can create beautiful refractions over the fast-moving water surface.
So excited for the update video

Joey is also a motivational speaker
“Oh I can’t do that”
Joey: “Yes you can.”
Good build good ideas. Think I might make a smaller version. Can’t wait for the next one

Awesome you referred to that 540g cube tank!! That was the very first videos I watched of yours!
The old plywood aquarium!!!!!! I never thought you’d mention that again. It was like a 6 part series an that’s when I first found you 😮
can't wait to see it finished, i think nano fish was the right call for this one
it'll make the tank look even bigger
I just hope to see larger schools of small species than we are used to seeing. Not 12 each, not even 24. 48+ each!😂 Just the whole length full of life!

I built a stand for my 5ft saltwater aquarium based on your designs using 2x4s. It's still going strong 5 years later 👍
Looking Awesome Joey.

Excited to see a community tank in that tank 🤩
Crazy build. I like the idea of a long aquarium. I considered a 12' glass tank at one point but stopped at 6'. I'd like to get a 10'+ tank at some point.
Joey, go get that plywood. I'm already excited for the next installment. Love and Peace.
Awesome video Joey thanks for sharing 👍 sending love ❤️ from IRELAND 🇮🇪
Congo tetra or community rainbows would look so cool swimming back and forth in this tank

JOEY THIS IS AWESOME YET AGAIN
Can't wait to see what AquaDecor does for this tank. 16-foot rollout background. 😮
I've been following your UA-cam since i was a teenager, im now 31😂 always look forward to new build videos! One of these days ill get around to building a giant plywood tabk of my own!
Awsome build. Can’t wait to see the rest of it!
You make it sound so easy. I wouldn’t know where to begin. I’ll just leave it up to the professionals 😂.
Awaiting your fancy goldfish tank someday
That would look amazing as a huge dirt planted tank. With a ton of community fish.
The king of DIY, I really liked this video! I subscribed too!
I can't help thinking what an awesome size reef tank this would be
This is literally the kind of aquarium I've been thinking about.
In my case, I want a "river" for small/nano fish.
This will be cool i was always a fan of long aquariums
THIS IS WHAT I BEEN WAITING FOR
Wow Joey that tank looks awesome!
I could bot imagine going through all the changes you go through good for you! Once i have something its pretty set in stone 😂
Beautiful build man really love it
Super jealous!!! Absolutely love it!!!!!
You should consider inserts if you ever need to place a divider for whatever the reason may be.
Wow that looks amazing ❤

great vid joey
Can’t wait for this one
if you have the room on the end you can make a rock wall/waterfall that the filter runs up into them back into the tank :)
Aquarium genius
I can't wait to see what corys you choose to get
I had built it like a ”mountain/reef ” and have Tropheus in it from Tanganyika. Had been awesome imho 😊
Roseline shark as a schooling fish would be cool
Never mind not all of us got enough wood at birth hahahaha ❤just joking looks great joey can't wait to see this finished wow 😊

Awesome can’t wait ❤❤😂😂😂
Looking forward to this build man
Unreal. Do snails and shrimp
The king of DIY, You're amazing! Let's be friends and hang out!
Looks Great Joey!
You should do an over head sump that you have done in the past and put plants in it.
A large school of Diamond tetras may look good with the Ultim Angels. maybe black skirts too. Perhaps a few true Siamese Algae Eaters for a heavily planted tank for Algae control besides the Plecos.
Beautiful aquarium 😊

Now we have to wait until July for another video
Joey's honeymoon video!
(hoping for an axolotl someday) pretty awesome project youve got there Joey
4:30 - Probably armor-piercing bullets would puncture it, but not go through. Just a foot of water is enough to stop regular bullets (the aquarium would be bust).
Looking good
Love it bro

Finally!! I think Joe is making us wait purposely 😂
Can you cooment on the bubble column. What stone are you using? That is a ton of bubbles!
Awesome video!!!!!!! I'm doing my research on having my first ever fish tank but also salt water. I want clown fish in my room!!!!
Can you please show more of the labor on the new 60 foot tank please.
You should make that tank a foot taller 👍🏻
I currently looking to do something like that thanks for your ideas
man a huuuge school of rhummy noze would be amazing with there schooling habbit :)
Are you going to do something like a bubble wall to help with water movement
The size vs the actual amount of gallons it will hold is deceiving. I was thinking it would be around 1000 gallons. I'm excited to see it finished and stocked. Hurry up, Joey.... 😂

Move the Birshir into the 16ft!

what about a long over the top sump like filter, with several outputs?
I’m building a plywood tank for my living room without a stand how would you recommend I do the base? Thanks
