Eazy E’s proteges-Bone Thugs N Harmony-released one of the greatest albums in the history of sound E.99 Eternal and the world has infinitely been a better place since. Over 10 million sold worldwide. #1 for two consecutive weeks following it’s release. Tha Crossroads reached #1 on Billboard and became an instant classic. E. 1999 sent Bone Thugs into another stratosphere and set off tension between 3-6 Mafia, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, and improbably, Nelly. Let’s break it down.

At that time Bones ability to actually sing is what messed everyone's head up. Man people were "tongue twisting" but none had the ability to sing. I hated that bone focused their energy on guys who sonically weren't on their level. None of those groups did records with artist like BIG, Mariah Carey, Big Pun, PAC, Phill Collins, Russell Simons, etc. Bone was 20 years ahead of their time. Bones style helped R&B resurge in the 2000s. Justin Timberlake, Trey Songs, Mariah Carey(who even said she studied bone). This group should be still relevant with their talent. Can you imagine their sound over today's production. It'd be amazing! Thank you Bone!

How does the Cavalier parade not have BONE represent....MGK was cool but where was BONE, the group that introduced us to CLE..don't forget they've worked with many heavyweights and earned their respect from the artists you've name to names like Ice Cube, E40, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Swizz Beatz, DMX, Game, Avant, Akon, Kanye just to name a few. They were All Original

"This group should be still relevant with their talent"
I've always said this, but I think they concentrated on who wasn't Bone so much, they kinda lost their own style. Bizzy started yelling, Wish started repeating 3x, Krayzie switched up his style some (it's still cool though), Layzie's always been Layzie, and Flesh started flowing with the angels lol (Flesh's style is still tight).
They had the right amount of everything in E1999 Eternal and 2nd in Creeping On A Come Up EP. Everything after that became loose. I feel like they would be cold as hell right this moment with the right type of modern production, a few samples, and that E1999 flow everyone loved.

Triple Six Mafia, the real name before they switched to 3-6, was dope, raw as fuck & definitely had Memphis on lock. But they couldn't fuck with Bone. The way Bone flipped that shit was way more polished & the production was better. Now Bone & Twista...that was a battle. All the rappers from the Chi back then were way better at that style than everybody in 3-6. Do or Die, the Snypaz, Twista even crucial conflict all put it down..only cat from Memphis who came close to the talent level of Bone was Skinny Pimp

I swear, the 90s really were superior to this era of rap. I think the NBA today is about as talented as the NBA of the 90s, I think movies today are about as good, TV shows are way better, dance music is the same. But hip hop dropped off. You could go on and on, pitting the artists of 1996 or so vs. the artists of 2017, and it wouldnt be pretty. But for everyone who was grown in the mid-1990s, imagine a rapper like Drake coming along and trying to break in at that time. So many fire rappers would have hopped on his ass so quick with that Disney Canada background and mercilessly bombarded his ass from day one, he would have been stomped to death , maybe literally given that violent ass era, so quick.

cause real mcs dont sign to major labels a good place to start is strange music as a matter of fact i found out about vi seconds thru a guy called the jokerr (who is also a dope mc) who dissed strange music as a matter of fact funk volume (hopsin dizzy wright jarren benton adn swizzz) who are all dope imo used to hold a dont fuck up our beats contest vi seconds won second place in 2014
in case your wondering vi seconds aka shizzy sixx is from brooklyn and has that og flow mixed with heavy wordplay on one of his cyphers he did like an octendre or whatever you call 8 consecutive metaphors using the same words but giving a different meaning each line
my original point remains tho as most people just wait for quality rappers to be played on the radio but it wont happen and probably not ever again

Bone dissed them on Strictly For My Grind. That entire song is diss to Death Row, the 1st verse of the song was supposed to be Eazy's but he had passed away so Bizzy rhymed it. That's as far as that beef went in regards to Bone. That and whatever shots they took at Mo Murda.

Three 6 Mafia and B.O.N.E. are my 2 favorite groups (in that order) of all time, so it was hard for me to listen to some of the stuff they said about each other, but in the end, it was all good music both ways. Three 6 Mafia (As "Da Mafia 6ix") recently did a song with B.O.N.E. on their 2013 release "6iX Commandments", as well.

Everyone got they opinion but I grew up in that era and I'm just in memory lane right now.. but bar none Bone is one of the greatest rap groups if not "the" greatest of all time in my opinion because of their influence and style.. you can argue originality but that's gone nowadays and that's something that made these groups/rappers from back in the 90's like bone, 36mafia, twista, etc. classic.. maybe one day we'll have that principle of originality come back maybe not but hip hop trends are always changing.. regardless, Bone has cemented themselves in rap history no doubt!!!

ive met 36 mafia and bone members a few times. that was prob one of the realest beefs because those are all really street dudes and still all are even though they got money and are mature now for their age, their still from the hood. the only disadvantage mafia had was paul and juciy got little arms but that dont mean they couldnt shoot at someone back in the day. and you dont see bone members alone alot, sometimes krayzie and bizzy, but they usually roll deep as fuck. we did a show for flesh bone when he first got out of jail and dude walked into soundcheck with like 20 people or more. but city people or street people also love to joke around to, so personality wise i think all these dudes would of got along much better if they didnt have a similar album style, but really over time e99 and faces of death really was prob their only dark albums. maybe creepin. everything after that was more towards harmony type of music

Bone fan since day 3, but I have to admit, Thuggish Ruggish Bustas and Bustin Back are my jams.
Crook County is also on my daily play list.
The Wu /RZA beef was left out. Kray answered that and a bunch of other stuff on Ain't Said No Names off of Mo Thugs Family Reunion (which was weak compared to Family Scriptures, so it's an easy track to miss).
I honestly feel that Bone going off with other producers is what caused them to normalise in the industry. When everyone else jumped on the Bone flow, they went to those producers too and tried to sound like the weak immatations of themselves.
Part of what made them unique was U-Neek (and Co)

The 90s was really about skill and having a unique style to stand out, all these groups were hungry and anything that came off as similar to a certain style, each felt that they had to check each other. But there's a clear difference in sound and delivery. And after 20 plus years, they're all 40 something and realized it was a good way to sell albums but a waste of time when focusing on creativity.

I'm from the south, so I would not listen to a bone thugs n harmony song for years over a decade except lately pass few days I played a few bone tracks because of interviews, I been seeing bone making heavy interviews every day online lately, well I love hip hop so I heard a few tracks. I told Dj Paul the same thing months back our gang was very active and only listened 3-6 and when I was very young told him about a altercation with bone fans he laughed and was like "that's dope , fuck em" but he was playing sayin they all good now on his Instagram... shout out to Dj Paul he's showed love a few times #Mafia

Back then, I never pay attention too much to Hip Hop culture. Honestly, I think it’s stupid and to me all rappers are just attention seekers but when one of my school mates played me BTNH (this was on 1998) and from that very moment, my perspectives on Hip Hop changed drastically. It really saddened me that the recognitions for this great group are lesser compare to others.
Btw, I’m a Metal fan and I hope other BTNH fans keeps on supporting these guys.

Flesh did a song with the 5th Ward Boyz (Rapalot) on their Rated G album and Skinny Pimp was there doing a track with Too Much Trouble (Rapalot) Hoe money from their Too Much Weight album and they were all in the same studio as stated on Skinny Pimps track called Let's start a riot off of his King of DA Playaz Ball Album... But I love how you brought up the fact that Tommy Wright lll made a track about bone...
