Overwhelming sweet sorrow of America's muddy River core. For every miner, for every riverboatman, for every steel mill worker...the last train. God Bless Tony & Norman, living legends of Musical America.
The best ever!I miss Tony and thankful;y Norman is still going strong!I love the man and his music.[and his wonderfull wife.As his musical and weddrd partner,no way any petformer can touch them!] Pure heart ❤️🔥😂
Absolutely my favorite version of this song....by a long shot. Can't any better than these two playing guitar together and Norman's haunting voice. Brilliant
Gracious. This is Blake leading Master Rice through his masterpiece. Damn, I wish i had heard this in person. I'd heard them other times together in the late 80s and 90s. Classic, like no other
What a sigh of a song. . . I have felt drawn to southern appalachia for a long time now, and I see that there is a certain sadness there. Maybe its these memories lingering in the hills: How could man have done this to me? Whilst the men ask, "how could this have happened to us?" 0:39 really hits me hard.
john kotab. This past November 2021, I was layed up in a hospital for 10 long days awaiting and recovering from a heart surgery proceedure. I was depressed and bored beyong belief. If it wasn't for the music of Norman and Tony, many other musicians of all genre, I would have lost my mind. I had this one nurse than I almost fell in love with while in hospital and shared many tune cuts with her. She was very kind and personable with me. I related how Norman had spent 10 days in hospital recovering from a surgery as well. She empathized with my dispair, I believe. I most likely will never see this lady again while I am above ground, but we shared a rare few minutes during my stay. When I was preparing to leave, I kissed her hands and with a small tear in her eye, she wished me well. This music touches my soul.
had many uncles and cousins that worked for Ohio 11 and Peabody old enough to remember when they shut down funny how people throw the word "redneck" around and don't even know it's origin Mattwan Sid Hatfield RIP
