Ironically their downfall was that their game was too good and they were too generous; I don't think I've ever seen a game developer go out on nobler terms.
Well, its not that bad! I mean yes not having friend lists, group ceueing and having no skins is kinda annoying! But only OG players are playing rn! So you get some competetive matches! 3v3 is rare and so ceues take ages like 15 min but an aral in 30 secs is normal! 5v5 can take anywhere from a few seconds to 10 minutes! but after your match you tend to get quicker ones! also played since 2015
I miss Vainglory, I wish i could go back in time and play it at its prime. I remember first hitting Vainglorious, 1 of the best moments of my life because I worked so hard to get there
i hd been plying since its beta but only reached vainglorious in like 2016. This game is the best to ever come out on mobile devices and nothing compared to it has ever since come out.
The best rank I could do in Australia is reaching Tier 10 Bronze in the 5v5 map, Sovereign’s Rise. Going there in the Halcyon Fold is a lot harder, in my experiences.
Ok akson is GOATED for covering this game. Vainglory literally was a decade ahead of any other mobile game. To this day its the only game that has managed to have fluid and flawless touch controls. Man i miss this game
This game was the shit. I still remember how I saved my teammate from certain death by blocking an ultimate. I loved it so much... Edit: And I will never forget the Kraken. He was and always will be the goodest boy.
@@sushiaki6752 yeah u can't play rank games anymore since the developer changed the game to Community Edition which means this game is played only for fun nowadays. They also made all heroes free2play when it's actually u have to buy a hero to use it before.
@@seniorsr4107 wtffff that sucks😥 too bad for the devs and the community i guess. The essence of the game is not here anymoreeee lmao this is actually a nice game tho!!😕
@@treebugg The devs did say that they would resume working on vg as soon as they finish catalyst black, but honestly you really can't get your hopes up...
well...balance is similar to rito(league), sometimes pretty broken but mostly it's pretty good. I used to play it everyday, reached a somewhat high rank and watching other moba games just makes vainglory feel so much more superior in terms of everything. God I miss those days
i agree with you for the most part, however there were many times where champs were completely broken and ruled the meta, then eventually they were nerfed. I remember crystal powered Joule was an absolute monster at the beginning of the game. Just jump and stun, which was easy to land, then use ultimate. Her ultimate could absolutely obliterate the entire enemy in seconds. I also remember krul and taka dominated for quite sometime. Skye too.
I was truly awed and impressed when I discovered that the heroes have sneaking animation when moving in brush. Legit mind blowned me up. Not even Mobile Legends or Wild Rift have that at this moment. I miss Vainglory for that.
Same...this game is not only underrated, but also underappreciated, wierdly enough most of the people are crazy about how Aov's brush is moving when a hero walk over it, instead of getting mind blown over how detailed the animation in vainglory was...
@@Bestontiyo Good info there, in Wild Rift, the bush also moves when the player's hero move in it. But not sure whether we can see the bush also move when enemy hero move in it or not.
Rip Vainglory, the best mobile moba game out there. Not even Wild Rift can top the throne in my heart, and I'll always hold high the tap-control scheme as the best of all control schemes. F.
This game got me into mobas. I found out about league and vainglory around the same time. I did not have a stable pc atm to play league so I would spam vainglory with my friends freshman yr. I would main lyra and go glass canon build lol. My friend would play taka, and the other would play this champ with a gun I dont remember her name lol. But, it helped me through a lot of stressful times. I slowly started to focus on sports and school more, and by the time my junior year hit I would reinstall every soo often just to play with friends for a few games, and reminsce. Flash forward to last yr we graduated, and play league together. Decided to check out the progress that was being made on vainglory pc version and realized that the game seemed dead and all progress seemly halted. It was a brutal surprise since we thought the game we loved was a really popular one with a rising esports scene and engaging discord that would reveal champ lore etc. But, I guess we were wrong
This is crazy man we must have been the target audience, but SAME HERE haha. I started off my undergrad in 2016 playing vainglory as a stem major it relieved stress big time throughout freshman and sophomore year with my friends. Me and my friends would literally get together hangout and play every weekend. As time went on and we got busier with life we let it go and then we graduated and split ways. But damn it brings back some good memories. I remember I was disappointed that they would let it die
I legit remember going into a discord or you know something like that, no it was the in game voice thing and I remember playing with people and comming with people sometimes
Hahah I used to Solo Kraken with Taka when the other team were busy on lane, his first skill that you can dodge any attack proof useful on taking this objective alone.
This is possibly the best mobile moba in the market. I've played a decent amount of all the major mobas but nothing is as polished, balanced and fun as this game. Not even wild rift, which is backed by riot.
Easily one of the best mobile games ever made. I was there since the start and Vainglory 3v3 was one of the best MOBAs ever made; the controls, the heroes, it was perfect, and the lore was legitimately very interesting too. I know somewhere, Vox is still being nerfed. I hope someday it comes back in some shape or form
@@wesleygaitan its good and was the best mobile 5v5/3v3 during their times till the company kept investing on their e-sports which made the game die cause the profit was so low
Ahh the memories. Remember playing Vainglory all the time throughout middle school. I'll never forget when Taka's T3 skin finally came out and the excitement I felt for the next few days while I grinded for it. Still haven't found another moba or game quite like Vainglory, and doubt I ever will. Wish it was still its old self. Although I stopped playing as often, I hated watching it go down hill every time I tried to hop back in.
The nostalgia hit me like a truck. I also mained Taka, I remember the days when you had almost no tools against his second box ability, so it was quite fun to fuck around with an op hero.
And therein lies the problem with this game. The fact that you knew you could grind the awesome skin without paying. I blame this partly on the devs for their naive thinking and the customers for just being plain entitiled
This game was my teenage years…I loved it, spent a stupid amount of money on it, and loved every character and mechanic. 8 years later I get on to hear the music and sit waiting for a 3v3 match for 10+ minutes, all I got was a wave of depression.
That's the thing it's too dumbed down to the point where establishing a playerbase that seeks higher skill ceiling not viable. Moba players don't play mobas for simplicity we play it for competition and the skills you develop on the way.
@@toopink4death492 bruh not at all. when this game came out, it was perfect. There was like 7/8 characters instead of most mobas that have 200 characters at launch so until your 300th match you really have no idea what is going on
I'll never forget how cool it was when I first played skye.. she was easy to understand but hard to master.. i especially liked her 2nd ability which allowed her to dash in around her enemies.. it was mind blowing to me back then.. and the terror krul was whenever I saw a big blade suddenly got thrown from the bush.. man those were the good days
I used to main Krul lol. Maybe I played you in a random match a few years ago and killed your entire team XD. The old krul was so fun I could literally 1v3 or solo Kraken every game. If I get rich someday, I would definitely want to revive Vainglory if I could.
Man I miss playing this. I don't play Mobile games anymore because of my pc but this game is literally leagues ahead that I haven't found a single MOBA (on mobile of course) better than it. I wish I could play Vox, Ringo, Glaive or Catherine with my old friends again
@@genieinthepot2455 yeah money that will sustain you as well. Micro-transaction is essential to any online game in order to support itself and further improve the game, so long as it doesn't affect the quality of competitiveness in it
I really hope Vainglory will make a comeback.. This is the best MOBA of all time. All that night push ranking, I miss it. Almost reached skill tier 10 when the server shutdown
I like how they pointed to Baptiste as "the typical laner" since he is one of the few heroes famous for being able to fill every single role almost flawlessly. Roamer Baptise can even be better than some designated roamers especially in the days of Echo. I miss the echo.
You just triggered a flashback I had of playing some blitz matches and every Joule would choose that talent that gave her 2 ULT's along with making a glass cannon build and top it off with Echo. Those were some dark times for anybody against a Joule. Still was kinda bummed they removed that item
@@user-pr3jm9jx1f The thing I remember most about Echo was the double Ardan ults with the enemy laner panicking in that small gap where the cages overlap. I loved that so much.
Sure, Baptiste can fit every role so well, but one other Vainglory hero can also do it, yet more effectively. Although most heroes can do well in other roles. Which hero I’m talking about in terms of best role flexibility? I’m referring to Adagio.
@@ioannishussein8038 I will be honest, I never thought jungle Adagio was any good. Yeah he could definitely do Roaming items, as well as Crystal and Weapon buuld. But he always went lane. I guess jungle Adagio could have been a thing. Just as a side note. I don't think Weapon Adagio or Weapon Baptiste is good. I disliked it when people forced Weapon builds on heroes that did much better as Crystal builds. *flashback to Weapon Celeste and Lorelai*
@@aldohorn1704 interesting... I remember Catherine echo as "the shit" Could be cuz my friend was a cath main... Or cuz the item and cath's ult kept getting changed every update xD
The game clearly had problems with monetization and gave too much with it's players to the point that they had no income from it yet, they spend luxuries to venturing to Esports to keep the hype. I guess it's their problem since they give to much than what they can get.
I remember playing Vainglory with my Aunt and I would always main the old wizard. Such great times and the only reason I got into MOBA games. Truly ahead of its time 😞
i cried. Miss my girl Gwen, she has a kit with everything, physic damage, mana damage, slow, stunt, cleanse, gain vision, extra speed, like everything but still balance.
I miss playing Catherine too. She is my first main, and I climbed with her all the way to rank 9. I still remember how happy I was when I unlocked all of her skins. My favourite skin was Paragorn. Her design, skills, playstyle, quotes... Everything was perfect for me. I played other moba games as well, but no character was as interesting for me as her :'(
I think she's balanced because extra speed is relatively less mobile than, say, blink or dash. And her passive teaches last-hitting, but doesn't really synergize with the usual marksman ad-as-crit build. Thus she needs the disable + cleanse-run to keep up
I might just tear up. This game was the best go to I've had when I was 15years old. Even if my cheap phone overheated, I'd played on days on end. Truly heart breaking that it had shut down.
Yo, remember when Vox was liked picked every single game (even in pro play) and Taka in low elo games. God, that was the shit back then. Also rip for my legendary Alpha skin I had back then.
not really. To utilize tap control for moba mobile need the phone to have extra screen size. Imo i like the tap control when playing on my ipad however it really a hassle to click on the screen when using a average size phone(at that time around 5inch ++). I prefer the analogue control. Make the game feel much faster.
Nope. With touchscreen, the less to touch the better it would be. Just seeing this video alone made me feels so horrible imagining to actually play it. Well, touchscreen is never good for gaming, but tapping definitely not it's best form.
As I watched the first few seconds of this video, one thing my ears immediately recognized was the background music. I played VG since 2014, I was desperate to play LOL during that time cause it was so popular but what I only have was my Ipad and my whole dedication to play League then became loyalty to VG instead as I enjoyed playing it so much day by day (especially when I have to grind for the skins of Bug Petal and Dark Parade Adagio) but now, hearing the main menu of VG gave me so much nostalgia and at the same time, it hurts a lot. I really wish for VG to be revived honestly.
To revive the game, it will need a company that can buy the game and rework the game and the company must be smart enough to be able toadvertise the game and make the game comeback to its former glory. They will also need to rework the monetization system. It will be really hard to revive that game. Even if the game is revived, there is no gurantee that the game will make a profit and company dont eant to take to much risk to revive the game and they dont know will the community accept the changes
Way ahead of its time I remember playing this on my iPad thinking god damn these graphics are amazing. Also it had really unique champion mechanics everything about it was so good for it’s time. I stopped playing it after a year or so got interested in console games. When I cameback to check up on it years later it was practically dead :/ which sucks because this game was so great.
Vainglory is probably the best mobile game ever created. I played for thousands of hours and it never got boring to me. If you were good at this game you could express it through high mechanical heroes like Skye. The controls allowed a high skill cealing, which is unmatched to this day in mobile. There was no such thing as pay 2 win. The community was nice and friendly and no where near the toxicity we see in League for example. The only big flaw the game had was its small playerbase which sometimes made ranked games unenjoyable for both teams. I hope one day a big company picks up whats left of Vg and makes it great again
I used to play this a lot with my friends and we would never get tired of it. All of the builds you can think of actually works. And if you ever need a break from the competitive scene, there are other game modes that are just as good as the ranked game mode. Heroes also are very unique and introduced some of the mechanics we see in popular mobas. Not to mention their lore. I can go hours about how good this game is. Such a shame it died.
Now I may be wrong because I have never played Vainglory, but I play a lot of Dota. Its similar in Dota, “everything” can work, but in the highest level only a lot of things work, not everything. Everything can work when your opponents aren’t playing the very best meta strategies. At the end of the day, when you have a list of characters and playstyles, there will inevitably be a best and worst strategy. When everyone is playing the best, then you can only play the best as well unless you’re much better than them.
@@kneticnrg nah, everything will work because Vainglory literally have multiplier for every build. You can go Physical, you can go Magic, or you can even go support Tank. Can also mixed it up. And that's what makes the game very unique.
I really, _really_ like how VG managed succeed in what LoL failed to: making both AD and CP builds near equally viable(for heroes that aren't tanks or mages, that is), without making either so OP it had to be basically removed(like AP Yi). They also feel different from each other(e.g. autoattacker vs nuker Baron). And hybrids often work well too
I remember this game, it was so incredibly unique, even compared to now. The 3v3 map was intuitive, the hero designs were original and fun. I had so much fun playing skaarf and phinn
Having played vainglory since 2017, I do agree monetization was one of the factors for its downfall, but I feel like other factors were also present. I feel like when 5v5 was announced, it was hyped a bit much, and when it was released I feel like it did not meet the expectations of many players. I personally think Vainglory with its heroes and gameplay were perfectly suited for 3v3. Other things like the removal of the potion, new wards, joystick controls and who can forget when they removed the (?) ping are all just minor changes but in the end I felt like when they switched their focus from 3v3 to 5v5 it just changed the way I enjoyed the game.
Weirdly enough While 5v5 is really hyped through community, it also kills VG, putting final nail to the coffin and Dev decided to shift to project catalyst black Idk why, probably the 5v5 being too generic and veterans hard to adapt to 5v5 bcs most heroes arent suited to fight in 5v5
@@Aru_im I really thought they gonna do something like 1 big jungle and 2 lanes (I mean this can work cause we already have something like jungle miners to contest and in the very middle is the kraken for 5v5) sadly they did go with the generic 3 lane though I can't blame them cause it's the proven and tested map for moba. Damn I miss VG. I wish I was born in universe where VG popular.
A vainglory veteran here. I was so sad when I uninstalled VG. I remember stealing the kraken with kestrel ult and all its golden moments. It had memes Like the potato, its content creators and shitting on the dog water that is Mobie Legends (And i always will). Also, if I remember correctly, it almost never had a meta, it always needed to be inprov and any build would actually work (EX: Crystal / Tornado Trigger Krul). I feel that the downfall started with 5v5. I wish that I'd be able to go to the past and play old vainglory.
I am so glad someone else finally said it! The introduction of 5v5 was the beginning of the end for vainglory. The final nail for me was removing the ability to play 3v3 ranked. It showed to me that whoever was in charge didn't care about vainglory's unique niche and wanted it to become like all the other mobas. RIP Vainglory.
i was 10 or 11 and loved this game with all my heart. it was one of the few things i was able to get good at and see cool ass characters. I had was in a competitive clan called Slay the fold which was such a sick name. i feel like it waas less toxic than most other mobas too. but the 5v5 really was the start of the end for it everything became alot more complex and sweaty, and the new items made it feel like i cant play characters the way i wanted used to main taka in a weapon build like the edy 11 year old i was, but in the future he felt hard locked to crystal builds and the game was
I forgot to mention but 1v1's in VG for fun were ACTUALLY FUN. We'd just be doing dumb fun builds like support skye or Tornado trigger arden, or just a try hard potato 1v1 and it'd still be fun. The player base was so chill as well before (like someone mentioned) so no one really tryharded. It was a casual game that actually would've done better if it didn't recive updates.
this game was my life, I immigrated to the us in 2015 and I had no friends, and for the longest time I had the hardest time making connections irl. This game introduced me to esports, to the small dedicated community of players, and life long friends. It did so much for me and I can still remember the feeling of grinding out koshka’s t3 skin 😭 thank you for covering this
Vainglory was such a good game in its prime, and it's a gaming experience that i'm very happy to have been a part of extensively. Very happy that it's getting some coverage given the rise in popularity of mobile MOBAs. Rip VG
I've played VG ever since it came out , my main was Lance and Reim . To this day I haven't played a moba which looks as good as Vainglory did . Everything about VG was phenomenal . I've tried Wild Rift , League on PC , Dota 2 but nothing has been able to replace this game for me . Maybe it's because i used to play VG with my friends and now none of my friends play any moba anymore but nothing has come close to VG for me , i spent countless hours on this game grinding for champions and skins and also spent quite a lot of money but i don't regret it one bit . Vainglory will always have a special place in my heart .
I remember when Excoundrel’s video came out and I had to fight to hold back tears. I put so much of my life into this game, so sad to see it go. I have made peace with the fate of the game since then. Thanks for covering this. Vainglory meant a lot to many people.
Omg, thank you. Thank you for talking about the game that I played for more than a year between 2016 and 2017. The game was great. But another issue in my opinion is that the 5v5 alienated most of the community and made me and many others stop playing for that reason. The game was sooo fun tho. I might pick it up or something and be apart of the community. I truly appreciate the video you guys made right here. The work here is just amazing.
yeah that truly was an underrated feature of the game - how versatile almost every hero was. there were plenty of characters that could have reasonably been played bot ad, ap, as a laner, or a jungler. off the top of my head - skye, kestrel, maybe vox? there were SO many meta possibilities to explore at any given time and yet the game still felt relatively balanced with all those factors considered. fucking crazy, man
@@КатяОсипова-ш6э yeah its fun how u go into the game then adapt your hero to what the game state is. I was spamming Idris and Baptiste heavily back then, you could use the same character in 10 games yet it didnt feel stale at all.
Yeah that's the reason it died and also adding analog controls. If only they added a 5v5 before other mobas are on peak, maybe vg would be relevant till this day. The reason 5v5 was added because some players requested it and it did hype the game up. But it took semc to released the 5v5 mode and the players did not took interest on it anymore.
I really think what killed this game was the addition of 5v5. Vainglory had something really unique, exciting, and fast-paced in 3v3 format. But as it got more popular, it started drawing in veteran MOBA players who flooded SEMC social media with requests for 5v5. There was only one teammate for each role, so everyone had to carry their weight. Winning a 3v3 felt much more hard-earned than in 5v5 where you had more teammates to cover your mistakes. You could get caught alone by the enemy team and maybe make it out alive against 2-3, but never against 5. But the absolute worst thing that resulted from 5v5 was the devs’ decision to de-incentivize 3v3 by getting rid of its Ranked mode. 3v3 essentially became Practice Mode filled with players who were new, just practicing/trying out a hero, or otherwise didn’t care about winning. I will never understand their decision to try to make Vainglory like every other MOBA by *removing* the things that made it so special. I’ve still got the screenshot from 9/29/2017 when I finally reached Vainglorious in solo after playing for years. Best feeling ever. I’m really sad that others can’t experience it.
I just redownloaded it after not playing for years so I had no idea any of this happened until I was looking for what was different since the last time I left and found this video. What do you play now?
This was the first game where I met some good online friends. Kinda sad seeing your guild slowly lose its members until you also lose the will to play. Vainglory will always have a special spot in my heart.
Vainglory, I remember when it was released. Most fun MOBA I ever played. Stopped because of server limitations, but playing Taka on good ping was a great time. The non-solved build paths, fast pace map and charming graphics were a blast. Frankly, it was probably graphically better than all the current Mobile MOBAs even though it released maybe 7 years ago? Really impressive game, sad to hear it closed down.
This brought a smile to my face, amount of time I spent playing this game and grinding for skins is unreal. Truly a masterpiece and will always be remembered as one!
@@Daniel-lx7hn Man, its pretty ironic that both HoTS and VG are the game that is better than other competitors in their respective platform but they "died" first.

It's eternal love my friend, VG will never be forgotten, at least for me. I play other MOBA like AOV and ML so I can play together with my college friends, but nothing beat the joy of playing VG, I always remember terrorizing enemy from the bush with Krul's giant sword, good old dayd
I remember learning about Vainglory through Hyun's stick figure animations -- after doing a series based on League of Legends champs, he was picked up to do a similar short with Vainglory, and even through those I could tell the game had a lot of charm and uniqueness to it, and that was indeed the case when I did try it. A pity it couldn't last very long, but it deserves to be looked back with fondness.
I had a potato phone, yet the game was playing 40fps at high graphics. This game was truly amazing. I was extremely sad when the game was losing its player base, the longer time passes, the longer the matchmaking also takes. I truly hope that they make a comeback one day.
This game was a huge part of my adolescence. The community, the developers, the orgs. Everything was amazing. As an old pro I’d like to thank every single one that took part of that amazing journey. Vainglory will always be a part of me
If my memories serve me right, vainglory was my favourite MOBA game, the movement fluidity and skill activation is 10/10 for a mobile game even now. Then i deleted the game when the game started using game currency to level up your skill to increase its damage.
This is why games die. It doesn't matter how many people play a free game. Free player hours don't pay the bills. VG spoiled it's players and then, when they tried to make it so that they could actually stay afloat financially, people like you left. THAT was the true nail in the coffin.
@@nerdherder9340 for OG players, the “normal” mode was 3v3, not sure if you’re referring to the 5 v 5. But yeah I remember spending so much time and money in the game I unlocked almost all the legendary skins :( I played to the point right before they introduced 5 v 5. How sad
i don't remember they had something in game currency to level up dmg. i spend most of my playtime during 3v3 only but i still occasionally play after 5v5 + analog control and i don't think they have such features. sure they had talent but it only works on spin-off mode (brawl/deathmatch mode).

This used to be my major pass time in a time when I didn't have pc access and couldnt play dota. To be able to play this game from India through 4g network at 90ms ping is nothing short of impressive. This game was a gem. Everything in it was perfect.
Vain Glory was the only game I had full investment in till its demise. I will never forget the friendships forged and good times I had. I wish SEMC will bring the game back to its former glory, catalyst black was very disappointing for what it costed.
I will never forget the days back in middle school when me and the boys would play this after school, during lunch, or even sneak in games during class. Seeing this game literally rot and turn into a shell if it's glory days shakes me to my core and still does today. I often come back to look at videos like these about vainglory to just remember the good old days and think on what could have been the absolute best Mobile game in history
I remember when I first discovered this game and instantly fell in love. Played for hours on end. The heroes, graphics, and touch controls all felt so nice. It was hard to find good mobile games. I’m still so sad it shut Down, Rest in peace Vainglory
I was wondering what happened to this game. I played it back in 2016 and loved using a Crystal-build Saw. I remember 1v3ing a team while my teammates were spectating late game, then coming back for the W. Great memories. Sad to see it go!
2:52 Scout mines served as this games ward on the 3v3 map. Dropping many scout mines throughout the map was very important so I don't agree that this game required less warding. It is important to keep track of the enemies movements.
i remember how much i loved playing krul and just how fun it was every match-sure there were times I'd rage but I'd just continue playing because it was FUN and it saddened me after finding out what happened to it, I've made so many friends and had a lot of time on the game aaa
Vainglory made me fall in love with moba. u can really feel the love and dedication of the dev and the community, the gameplay, the lore, the events... but the audiences are one of the most ENTITLED and immature player base ive ever seen. they were so generous to the players (the new blue print system), with their only way of monetizing game and complains still flooded in.
Vainglory was and will always be the top mobile MOBA. Their downfall was so heartbreaking for me, they’re building a new game “ Catalyst Black “ you guys should really check it out

Looking back again… I truly loved this game as it showed how much mechanical skill a player has. Carry, jungles and support has such important roles to play
ahhhh i frking LOVED this game, i enjoyed playing every character in that game and playing either full cp or wp was both viable and fun, like how going full wp ozo was an inescapable, unkillable monkey but going cp ozo was a super burst, super mobile, and has an insane amount of lifesteal monkey xD ahhh i miss playing all of them and i specially miss my waifu and main, Catherine 😢

Weirdly enough
While 5v5 is really hyped through community, it also kills VG, putting final nail to the coffin and Dev decided to shift to project catalyst black
Idk why, probably the 5v5 being too generic and veterans hard to adapt to 5v5 bcs most heroes arent suited to fight in 5v5

I wish I was born in universe where VG popular.
I wasn't too stoked with the 5v5 either. 3v3 was so novel and just fit the mobile scheme.

The game died with the introduction of 5v5. They did not stick to their roots and put all the focus into 5v5 and even removed some 3v3 mode :/
3v3 was never removed, at least I don't remember that
@@julian5742 casual was removed, only ranked 3v3 stayed
5v5 most tragic idea.
The 5v5 slow motion still remembered and thats the fact of fallen of Vainglory begin
I gotta agree with you there. Changing the game from 3v3 to 5v5 are what killed the game imo
I just redownloaded it after not playing for years so I had no idea any of this happened until I was looking for what was different since the last time I left and found this video. What do you play now?
This game was the shit at my high school we had a group of like 30 people who just played this at lunch
W o w. Now that's something really cool
Same!
Vainglory is my favorite mobile game of all time, if not one of my favorite multiplayer games of all time! RIP VG.
"Let's just say it, you are not the smartest one in your family, are ya? by Petal is my favorite voice line in this game
I miss my squad :(
“I’m not small, Im just sitting down”
“Travelling in style!”
This brought a smile to my face, amount of time I spent playing this game and grinding for skins is unreal. Truly a masterpiece and will always be remembered as one!
All I'm gonna say is, VAINGLORY DID KRAKEN BEFORE LEAGUE GOT HERALD
uhm, actually, Heroes of the storm did the whole "neutral creep that helps push lane" first
@@Daniel-lx7hn Man, its pretty ironic that both HoTS and VG are the game that is better than other competitors in their respective platform but they "died" first.
@@Daniel-lx7hn uh actually dota
@@justpepe253 Uh... no? Roshan doesnt help push, it gives aegis and these days also gives agh and cheese
who tf cares bruh
They had a Healer that was a blue angel, I farmed so much to play him, the characters were real good and fun, it's rare for me to play characters that don't support, yet I had a lot of fun with everyone I tried
Aeigo? Don’t remember his name but yeah remember the CP builds
Adagio if not mistaken
Adagio and was a dragon.
Right aha, Adagio yess, and also an Angel! A) was "Gift of Fire" , B) "Agent of Wrath" and C) "Verse of Judgement"! Used to like him but have started playing him Attack damage more recently! Very strong
@@nikiniewerth8148 if his not an angel I'm sorry if I offended you ^^; my younger though he was cool with his wings and I never cared about game lore until I discovered LoL
I'm sad to see this video because I had high, high hopes for this game. It was really well made from the characters, builds, the shorter matches suited it's mobile platform. I'm a long time LoL player and while I do enjoy wild rift, there was something special about this little gem
Love to see how much love this game has reading the comments......made me smile and emotional at the same time
You can see how good this game was. It was well balanced and had a very unique 3v3 map which so many of us fell in love with.
It's eternal love my friend, VG will never be forgotten, at least for me. I play other MOBA like AOV and ML so I can play together with my college friends, but nothing beat the joy of playing VG, I always remember terrorizing enemy from the bush with Krul's giant sword, good old dayd
To this day, there's no game I was as invested as vainglory.
Vainglory was the only moba I ever truly enjoyed. I was so saddened to learn it was gone.
My phone was a potato too but this game works, look and feel flawlessly.
This game was a huge part of my adolescence. The community, the developers, the orgs. Everything was amazing. As an old pro I’d like to thank every single one that took part of that amazing journey. Vainglory will always be a part of me
I still remember addicted to this game, playing 16 hours a day in the weekend
If my memories serve me right, vainglory was my favourite MOBA game, the movement fluidity and skill activation is 10/10 for a mobile game even now. Then i deleted the game when the game started using game currency to level up your skill to increase its damage.
This is why games die.
It doesn't matter how many people play a free game. Free player hours don't pay the bills.
VG spoiled it's players and then, when they tried to make it so that they could actually stay afloat financially, people like you left. THAT was the true nail in the coffin.
That was only for the blitz mode though, talents didn't exist in the normal mode
I remembered going to vainglory when fates forever died, although vainglory game is dying, i am proud to be one of the earliest players in this game, i am proud of this community, and i am proud to have this as a part of my childhood.
I'll never forget you vainglory, I'll never forget Catharine's shield.
Always thought she did a lot of damage for someone who you can't kill. But I'd prefer Aiden, bait strong
@@jayduong9838 yeah, trick with her was to stack her passive (using low cooldowns) and become your team's kraken on turrets
@@jackbrunato8960 used to grind at 4 am on glaive, got 9, one level below vainglorious if I remember
@@jayduong9838 think highest I got was 29 and I just wasn't taking damage cause opposition didn't have any true damage and such

Rip vainglory, much love to SEMC
man this game had my life in a choke hold when I was in 8th grade, played this pretty much from launch and managed to hit somewhere close under vainglorious which I believe was the highest rank, idk how but every character was so fun to play idk what made me quit cause this was like 10 years ago but damn this video brought some memories also krul mains are unloved
They are truly ahead of the time, what a game truly, they put a maximum effort to this game
I played this game from 2014 to 2018. This was the best game and community I ever had the privilege to be apart of. From competing and attending in Live Tournaments to the awesome friends that I still talk to till this day, RIP Vainglory 💔
This used to be my major pass time in a time when I didn't have pc access and couldnt play dota.
To be able to play this game from India through 4g network at 90ms ping is nothing short of impressive.
This game was a gem. Everything in it was perfect.
visual, gameplay, control, community. 10/10
So nostalgic.. some of the pros have transferred to wild rift esports on team tribe.. I think like almost all of team tribe used to be in vainglory
I was among the players of this game prior to 5v5 (I started around 2015, one year after its launch)
Felt emotional watching this 😢
I remember when I first discovered this game and instantly fell in love.
Man I loved the shank-out-of-nowhere CP Saw, just hide in the bushes until a stray Celeste passes by and BOOM, Shank out of nowhere
2:52 Scout mines served as this games ward on the 3v3 map. Dropping many scout mines throughout the map was very important so I don't agree that this game required less warding. It is important to keep track of the enemies movements.
Yeeeah the mine spam was real. One team always spammed them and the enemy had to slowly walk throught them to start the fight. Good times.
@@kerruo2631 goddamn I remember checking every corner of enemy jungle, having my own spots, coloring the enemy jungle with mines just to flex
i remember how much i loved playing krul and just how fun it was every match-sure there were times I'd rage but I'd just continue playing because it was FUN and it saddened me after finding out what happened to it, I've made so many friends and had a lot of time on the game aaa
Not all people own iOS device, thats why VG easily fall. Nowaday still the same, gamer came mostly from android phones
@@dohoof why is Ios or android even matter?
@@dohoof the game was on both ios and android
Vainglory was and will always be the top mobile MOBA. Their downfall was so heartbreaking for me, they’re building a new game “ Catalyst Black “ you guys should really check it out
Holy, the nostalgia I felt when watching this and seeing Koshka show up. I had forgotten how much fun I had with this game, shame it wasn’t able to be as successful as other games.
I remember back in 2016 playing this instead of pc games at home just for it's uniqueness and simplicity. I miss those days
I miss this game, the memories with friends and guildmates.
Edit: On the chance that you see this, Members of Halcyon Warriors guild. Sky, Waff, Pho, Oscar and everyone else, I missed ya, best of luck in the future and thanks for the memories!

Looking back again… I truly loved this game as it showed how much mechanical skill a player has. Carry, jungles and support has such important roles to play
ahhhh i frking LOVED this game, i enjoyed playing every character in that game and playing either full cp or wp was both viable and fun, like how going full wp ozo was an inescapable, unkillable monkey but going cp ozo was a super burst, super mobile, and has an insane amount of lifesteal monkey xD
ahhh i miss playing all of them and i specially miss my waifu and main, Catherine 😢
SEMC was too generous too us, they deserve better.
Oh my feels. I met one of my all time best friends in Vainglory and now we play everything together. Deandre the Catherine God, bruh this ones for you! Someday something will come along relatively close to the level of fun we had with this game, but until it does I’ll forever my annoyed lol. Oh well. Back to Wild rift.
