When mrpete 222 presented his version of this project , I made one for work , and one for home . They are quick to use and much safer than a loose vice on the drill table .
I need to go back and finish that project. I had a few things happens in part 3 and got a little disenchanted with the project and started working on something else. I still have he part 3 video half finished and more footage for part 4 and more work that’s not been done yet.
Keep an eye on notifications, because some how the bell got unrung. Shame about the bow. Once you start grinding they really show. Were you using cold rolled? 6:54 get a rubber tipped stylus (1st grade pencil - lol) Did you see doubleboost's repair to his mill to eliminate a similar noise? See his SNNC 301. Nice work. Looking good so far.
Odd about the bell being unrung. Yea. I was using cold rolled. It’s possible I ground it in too. I need to surface the chuck. Yea. Just bad habits. I just got use to using my middle finger. :) I’ve not seen doubleboost’s post. I’ll go check it out. Thanks!
Yea, I had fun doing that. I'm using 2 iphones and a ipad for my video gear. Since the two iphones were already setup to shoot the views of the project, I ended up using the ipad to capture the DRO. It's a older ipad, so, the video wasn't as good.. but, it didn't mater.. I just zoomed in on the DRO and in post I cropped it down so you couldn't see anything but the DRO. Turned out really good.
You didn’t miss anything. I had started the editing on part 3 and ran into some issues with the video editor and took a step back for a while. Ended up doing some other projects and never went back to it. I have video for part 3 and probably 1 or 2 more parts. I still haven’t finish up the vise. :(

Very satisfying to watch! You have a lot of talent as a machinist AND as a camera man!

I like the picture-in-picture for the DRO, nice touch. Keep it up.

Are you going to do a part 3? Or did I miss it somewhere.
