Hi guys, found you three days ago and am already on episode 12.! LOVE watching you guys so much! So wish I started knitting back when you started (not just a couple of months ago). I have missed out on so many things (patterns, yarns, bags, and the fun..........). I hope as I go through (yes I will continue to binge watch you guys) that you don't change. I enjoy the banter chatting as much if not more than the knitting and crafting stuff. I am going to cast on a Sockhead hat today because of the many times you have raved about it (yes I know I am years behind and will always be behind since I am new to all of this). Just wish I had the farts yarn as I really love the colors and the way it shows on the hat. Just an FYI I have had no issues with the sound on any of the episodes so you guys are true professionals in my book (hahaha). Please don't let a thumbs down get you down. Those one or two crazies are probably the Debbie Downers of life in general and just need to spread that crap wherever they can. **OR** more likely they are just JEALOUS of how great you guys are doing! Hope the next 100+ episodes are just as good or even better - can't wait to find out.
And Boom! I'm caught up! Have really enjoyed you two. You've got it now. The picture's good. The sound is good. Currently busy with some projects I'm hoping to enter in your MAL. I'm a lifetime knitter, sewist and maker of other things. I love that you two are the ages of my two "kids". My daughter's from Feb. '81 and my son, Oct. '82. You two bring back so many memories of the '80's (which were/are a blur to me!) and '90's which were lifechanging in more ways than one. And TARQUIN! Splendid little beastie! All the best to the three of you from the mtns of San Diego!
Tarquin!! You should always do a segment at the end with Tarquin. You can call it "Say Hello To My Little Friend"! Good to catch up with you guys. Happy Birthday Kevin!
Good to see Tarquin again. Oh look at that little face. he looks to be a bigger than my tiny Yorkie. Lovely to see your yarns and finished works and wips.
Happy Belated Birthday Kevin!! Love all the dishcloths! I so need to make some of those for sure! I am so happy to hear you loved knitting with Fox Farts! I love how it stripped. Reminds me of the cowl I did with Finter and even the Tutti Fruity in the cowl I am knitting now. That's that good cast on number! HAHA Those Steven West shawls look fantastic!! HELLLLOOOO!!! HAHA! .... 9 inch circulars!!! I was gifted some from my bestie and I can't get the hang of them!! My hands don't know where to go. lol I like those swatch methods! I haven't made anything I needed to swatch. Love the hat from the make a long! Great episode again guys! Love
I know Im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Ryker Lennox thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Ryker Lennox DAMN IT ACTUALLY WORKED :O I literally hacked my Instagram login within roughly 40 minutes by using the site. Had to pay 15 $ but definitely worth the price =) Thanks so much you saved my account !
Omg! Love the yarn gift from Ray! Colors are gorgeous. I really like all the colors you both choose. I love this podcast..truly enjoy your banter. You guys have such a nice connection.
oh my gosh your dog is the cutest, i think this is the first I saw him in video. Happy Birthday Kevin, love the coffee mug and of course all the yarney goodness too
Love this hat. And yeah, I guess you know the sound is WAY better! Ray, your stitches have gotten so even now. You guys have gotten my knitting mojo back so I cast on a sock from some Reggia yarn I've had an embarrassingly long time. I ordered 1 colorway from Reggia in the Arne and Carlos colors that guarantee matching socks left to right! Yay.
So good to see you guys again. I’m an accomplished crocheter and of all the knitters I know, you two have inspired me to give my hook a rest and pick up needles again. I’ve struggled with socks...the bane of crochet. They just can’t compare to knit socks. Thanks. I think.
I’m currently binging your podcasts and loving them so much. Just in case no one commented on this, I think the “..and then” quote is from movie “Dude, Where’s My Car”. Keep up the good work. 😀
Thank you so much for these videos. I have been sitting and knitting through them while in lock down and they make me happy. You are a charming couple! I plan on jumping into the "Let's Hear it for the Boys" KAL when my yarn arrives from Leading Men. Planning on making Stephen West's Ferocious Briocheous infinity scarf/cowl for my hubby. We usually go to Rhinebeck every year and I make him a colorful accessory to wear. Even though the festival is cancelled I'm making it anyway and will stay optimistic for Rhinebeck 2021.
Just subscribed. Watched you while I was knitting a blanket and taking a break from my own channel. You guys are sooo wonderful to watch. I'll be definitely watching you often.
I really enjoy watching you guys banter and talk about all your projects. Also, thanks so much for caring about the sound of your podcast. I have had a hearing problem all my life and have had to stop listening to some podcasts because the sound is so low. Your sound on this episode was GREAT. 😊
Watching this nearly 2 exact years later… Happy Birthday (in a few days), Kevin! It’s really odd watching this in 2022 and your commentary is centered to when the pandemic was first beginning and hearing your conversations on how it’s going. I look forward to your acquisitions each episode. I repurpose sweaters from thrift stores to satisfy my yarn lust. Hi Tarquin!
Happy belated birthday Kevin!!! The yarns are STUNNING!! Especially the copper!!!! For the fade, I would start with the greys and end up with the copper pot, the progression would be perfect..(definitely makes me tempted for my yearly "to me from me" birthday present) Love you guys, you always making me laugh especially when you go off on a tangent!! And I still don't know how you guys get so much done!! I'm still working on the same thing!! Ok, same 2 things! 🤣😂🤣
Oh my goodness! I was knitting along, enjoying your podcast when I heard my name. How exciting! Thank you so much for the lovely comments about my Godrics Hollow Hat. I love your podcast and really enjoy the comfortable casual way you make us feel like knitting friends. You’re the BEST.
Hi 👋 Thank you so much for joining us in our MAL. It’s so great to see all the wonderful makes people are entering. So glad you are enjoying it as much as we enjoy meeting you all 🥰
Hi guys, love watching your podcast. I've actually knit 2 pairs of the Rose City Rollers socks because of your podcast and I absolutely love them. I managed to get 2 pairs out of 100g of Knit Style Yarns: Christmas at Grimmauld Place, one pair for me and one pair for my daughter-in-law, I'm so amazed with the fit. They are so comfy.
Was so happy when your podcast came up! Don’t worry about the chatting.....it’s one of the things that I personally look forward to. Another thing I don’t mind thumbs downs but really wish there was a way to make them at least tell you what the problem was before the thumbs down would show. Sometimes I am so puzzled when I see them.... like was it the sound or the lack of.....or was it the patterns? Etc. Go figure...lol . Anyways happy birthday Kevin! My oldest daughter turned 40 this year too. So keep up the good work guys! 💞
9 in circular needles are great for sleeves. much easier than double points. I have used 9 inch circulars for socks. had to use double points for the heels, then switched back to the 9 in. you guys are great!!
Thanks so much Marissa! I’m ready to cast on a sock with the 9inch but it’s funny you mentioned the heel. I think I’ll either do double points or magic loop for that 😉😊
I am watching your podcast and smiling and loving the interaction, I am near 70, and learning to do new things, life can be so enjoyable. I am happy to see all you young people enjoying life and sharing with us. Happy birthday Kevin!!
Congrats on the win! Happy belated birthday Kevin! Ooh the puppy!! Ray you're soooooo cute!! I recently made a US food purchase, goldfish crackers are nice! Had to try milkduds. Nice!
Yay I’m so glad the parcel finally arrived...Twisties are my favourite👌🏼in particular cheese! Glad you can use the minis...I dyed them especially for you guys with Harry Potter in mind👌🏼...I look forward to seeing your beautiful knits😘😘
Omg you are so amazing!! We didn’t have time to really look everything through lol. So awesome!!! Sorry not sorry...we are keeping all the minis LOL 😂 🤪🥰
Happy birthday Kevin! I do a Dye Candy yarn club in DK, and I use those skeins to make a Mama Vertebrae. So maybe save the skeins or start a larger project and use months that follow each other well? "And then?" is from the movie Dude, Where's My Car. :) During your fab reading/watching/etc section (since your gamers) could you also mention what games you play? Asking as a fellow gamer...Have you read the Kim Harrison The Hollows series? Ilove them and can highly recommend them. :)
Hi Guys, Found you through Ross, Smell Great Yarn. Enjoy your chatter. I have a knit night whenever I watch you and others. BTW years ago I lived in Waterbury and Derby.
Hi Kevin and Ray! I’m Charlotte, Fat Wool Co. It was fun playing bingo, and I’m glad you like the project bag! I enjoy your podcast very much, see you in a fortnight!
Hi Kevin -Happy belated! Hi Ray. I’ve stopped your video part way through, to jot this down. I wanted to mention that I tried the thunder shirt for my dog who had serious separation anxiety and it turned out to be a complete waste of money. Sorry. Didn’t work at all. Maybe I did something wrong, but I wanted to tell you incase I didn’t. I tried it many times. He didn’t like wearing it. Also, since you (Kevin) were talking about knitting your toe decreases down to 14(?) st per needle for a better fit, I thought you might like the “seam free rounded toe”, free pattern by Lynne Ashton. This is for a toe up sock. She has another full sock - toe up with heel & gusset that’s also free that I’m looking forward to knitting. I also wanted to say, that I really enjoy your videos! I don’t watch too many knitting podcasts these days, but never miss yours. Thank you for doing what you do 😁👍🇨🇦
Thank you so much! It really means a lot to us when people comment and join us for a little while. We will definitely check out those patterns! As for the thunder shirt, we may be in the same boat...ah well 🤷♂️🥰🥰
I feel like I've lost my knitting mojo over the past couple of weeks (going back to work, the yard that just screams at me for attention, and 3 wips with issues... uggh) but watching you guys has helped, i fixed one of the wips, knitted, and put together notes for my podcast - now I'm about to cast on for my Let's Hear it for the Boys project - go me LOL - Paul
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast it's the So Basic Sweat from Max the Knitter (Maxim Cyr) so it'll be designed by a boy, the yarn is coming from a boy, TedKnitsUK, and knitted by a boy (or so I've been told) a trifecta of hearing it for the boyz (John from STNS said it's boyZ lol)
Hi Guys! Happy Birthday Kevin! The yarn colors choice you both make are fantastic. Always a sucker for green and the Rain Forest Heather is wonderful! And Ray, your Garnet Heather yarn for your first sweater is fantastic. Love your echinacea bag! Douglas fir Dishy and Kenai! You got me at green! Your KAL….I will be knitting a first ever sweater at some point and even if I begin it today, there is no way I could complete it during your Let’s Hear it For The Boys KAL. Lars Rains mens’ design. His Asymptote Pullover. I may be crazy to choose to tackle this but Lars didn’t nix the idea as a first sweater…., and I’m very stubborn…. You mentioned virtual knit nights. Can anyone attend them and if so, how would I do so? Best wishes and thanks for another great podcast! Peace, Mike
Good for you! Stubbornness could be a great thing sometimes..haha. We would love to see the progress of the sweater if/when you start it 😊. The group from A Likely Yarn is open to everyone and she has the link to the zoom meeting on the website www.alikelyyarn.com
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast Thanks again! Will keep you posted but may have to check in with you to figure out how to share progress on the eventual sweater. I'm a dinosaur with some computer stuff....Thanks for the information on the Zoom meeting. Hope to attend on Saturday. Best wishes!
I had a mug that did that when I was little and I thought it was MAGIC!!!! I'm the exact same way with books, that's why I like trilogies👍 The look on Ray's face every time Kevin says dislike or thumbs down😝 I love you guys💜
Yay!!! I can hear you. I had a pup that looked like yours. They could have been twins. Her name was Forever Me Amore. (Forever My Love) Because I always wanted a pup and I got my first one when I turned 18. (Many years ago.) My current pup, Mona Lisa ( a rescue originally named after a New York Housewife), loves all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Especially watermelon.
Happy Blessed Birthday Kevin!! Awesome podcast. Sound quality was perfect. Continue to chat away. I like the company especially in this crazy pandemic world we're living in right now. Until next time Namasté. 🙏🏽💜💜🙏🏽
Smart with both the knots or yarn overs on the swatch. Nothing worse than not being able to remember the needle size. Right now I pin notes to my swatches, but the knots are much less cumbersome
You guys are so dang funny....so many laugh out loud moments. Thanks for the ongoing inspiration for yarn dyers and patterns. Ray, your sock head hat project has spurred me on to have 3 going simultaneously for friend gifts. Kevin, is your cowl pattern still in the works?
OMG you have 3 going? It’s such a great and easy knit! Honestly, it has really become my go to whenever I needed a TV knit 😊. The cowl is still in the works, Kevin needs to write it out still...DO YOU HEAR THAT KEVIN? LOL 😂
Twisties are my favourites (cheese are the superior flavour though)! Fantales are a snack often bought when you go the movies. Lucky guys - Kathy has sent you awesome Australian treats.
Love your podcast. Great to see knitting from a different point of view. Ray, so impressed with the projects you are tackling for a newer knitter. No Fear! Went back and watched your past episodes. Wondering why Ray wasn’t in the first two podcasts?
Hi guys, you will love Twisties, the cheese are the best also mmm Fantales, you can read all about the movie stars! I have just discovered your blog, it is a pleasure to watch you both. Thank you.
Ray, I have the same issue with toe up socks....the dreaded bind off. I have tried that Jenny's super stretchy bind off and always found it to flare out. However, I have tried the sewn bind off (Craft House Magic tutorial) & the suspended bind off (chilly dog) and found those to be better and have less of a flare out. Kevin, happy belated 40th. And keep the chit chat coming. I love it.
Good seeing you guys. Nothing better than watching professional podcasters. 😁. Your yarn purchases are great. So glad your “get together” turned out nice Kevin. It was funny when you talked about not seeing anyone except cashiers since March. That’s the only in person people I have seen and all are wearing masks so I see eyes only.
BTW, you are the best babysitters because when I have things to do, I play you on the TV and my son sits and watches you over and over 📺 😆 Adriel knows you by name now and laughs a lot! Hahaha it is great!
Hi Guys! Great episode! I haven’t been doing much knitting lately, but I managed to knit on a mitten while watching you. That was crazy they shot off a firework on the middle of the day like that! My dog would be nervous too! See y’all next time. :-)
You guys should try some Tazo Chai Tea with Natural Bliss or equivalent vanilla almond milk coffee creamer in. It's great, either hot or cold. In the summer, I brew a big pitcher of the chai, let it cool to room temp, pour the whole bottle of coffee creamer in and refrigerate it. SO refreshing.
Hello neighbors! I grew up in Trumbull but currently live in Bridgeport. Love your podcasts. I mainly cross stitch but have tried knitting a couple of times.
Sashiko (I hear it pronounced SAH-shi-ko) is a form of Japanese embroidery. You usually see big stitches in white or light thread on a dark blue background. I assume the color is because the blue of the yarn looks like the blue background in Sashiko embroidery.
I just finished my first ever Flax, I made the baby size to get the idea of the pattern and enjoyed it very much, I hope to make the adult size as soon as I decide what yarn to use x Love from the UK
Yalls microphone challenges are my lighting challenges. 😂😂 Great episode guys, glad you were able to spend some time with family and friends. I think Sashiko refers to a type of traditional dyeing or embroidery technique in Japan.
New subscriber ☺️ I started using 9”circulars for the first time yesterday and I’m loving them! I’m using Addi Sock Wonder 2.5mm and I’m converted. Keep up the great work guys 👍🏼
Sashiko is a type of Japanese embroidery:) kind of like a simple embroidery but you are making a beautiful pattern. simple yet elegant. I learned it in home economics while I was in high school. usually the fabrics they use for sashiko is a dark blue color and the thread they use is white so the pattern pops out. It is a Japanese traditional style. :) If i notice any Japanese words or anything on your pod cast and you guys were wondering what its about, i will try my best to help you guys:)
Kay, The Crazy Sock Lady, is running Summer Sock Camp and has posted three really great tutorials, including socks on 9 inch circs. Do it!! Love your podcast.
Happy birthday, Kevin ❤ The YT channel 10 Rows a day, has a video with 3 stretchy bind offs, and I think, she shows the trick to 'Jennys...' so it doesn't stretch so much... oh, and Im absolutely in love with the bag Kevin won!
I had some yarn leftover from a pair of socks, so I decided to make shorties for the first time. Halfway through the second sock I ran out of yarn! So one sock has a color change. The next time I knit a pair of shorties with leftover yarn I decided to weigh and split my leftover, so if a color change occurred, it would at least match.
Hint..... Do you block your socks to get gauge? Nope, I don't. I bet you don't either. In fact I pretty much don't block anything I knit. I wash it , I dry it, but I don't block. Why? Because I'm not going to block a item every time I wash it before I wear it again. Knit it to fit, don't block it to fit.
Happy Birthday Kevin! Have you seen the Spring Thing shawl by Espace Tricot? It calls for 1 skein of fingering and 1 mini. And I love a good long chatty knitting podcast.
Guys, regarding blocking, may I suggest that you check out Arnie and Carlos remarks regarding Blocking. The purpose of blocking is to cause your project to be nice and tidy, straight, shape it example, square. You should be getting gauge before blocking. Also if you have to block a item in order for it to fit you, then your gauge is off. Check Arnie and Carlos podcast. I must agree with thine on the topic. I think for some strange reason Americans are stuck on blocking to get either gauge or correct fit and that is not the reason for blocking. Also I've noticed that washing my item assists nicely in making my stitches sit nicely beside each other and tends to even them out. Great podcast, happy birthday and you guys keep on knitting! Stay safe. 😀
THundershirt was a fail for my boxers as well. I now give Benadryl starting in the morning and they are a little sleepy. If the dogs are frightened by fireworks it's really hard to do much for them but stay home, keep them inside and don't make a big deal about it. If you act like its normal they seem to be less upset. Thunder is another my dog was terrified of.
You guys are so awesome together! Love this podcast ❤️. I’m suggesting you look at the new Steven West shawl called Lava Lamp. It’s a stash buster. Uses 5 colors! Happy birthday Kevin! ❤️❤️❤️
I want to thank you for this podcast. I have 12 at risk young men who I work with. They started knitting after I bullied them some. :) (Men don't knit, Only old women knit yada yada yada ) Then I came across this podcast...showed the boys that men DO KNIT. The boys are hooked. Thank you for being such great role models.
This is extremely humbling...Thank you so much for your kind words! We have never thought of ourselves as role models but are very glad to be part of making a difference for someone. Thank you, again and say hi to your guys for us :-)

"9 inch circulars". DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! I think you'll love it. Lol
Haha totally tempted!
Crazy sock lady podcast (Kay) has an awesome tutorial for 9" circular socks.
I agree! I got so much faster when I switched from magic loop to 9” circulars.
The best 9 inch circs I've found were the addi easy knits. My socks go so much faster.

sound is working GREAT.One of my favorite things about this podcast is you don't really prepare, it's like you're just hanging out with me .
Aww thanks! We just wanted to create a space where we could hang out and it be natural. So glad that translates 😊🥰
Happy Birthday Kevin! And Ray’s smirk when he said “we’ll just buy more yarn.” Priceless. Love you guys.

Superwash grows with blocking. Keep that in mind when planning your sweater size. Happy knitting!
Agreed, I think that’s why we tried blocking as “aggressively” as we did lol. I’ve heard so many sad sweater stories! Happy knitting to you too 😊❤️

Needles at the Ready Podcast good for you...🤣😘😘
You both make my day and you both are funny, cool hat , coffee is so yummy, enjoy your day and have fun crocheting and knitting 🌟
Aww thanks so much! Your comment made me smile 😊
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast you are very welcome 🙂
I'm guessing you guys go over 3k subscribers today! Congrats (a few numbers shy of it) Enjoyed your episode today.
Thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed it! We can’t even begin to wrap our brains around that number 🤯
Happy birthday Kevin! I do a Dye Candy yarn club in DK, and I use those skeins to make a Mama Vertebrae. So maybe save the skeins or start a larger project and use months that follow each other well?
"And then?" is from the movie Dude, Where's My Car. :)
During your fab reading/watching/etc section (since your gamers) could you also mention what games you play? Asking as a fellow gamer...Have you read the Kim Harrison The Hollows series? Ilove them and can highly recommend them. :)
Yes! We will definitely add a gaming section as well 👍🏻😊
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast Score! 😎❤️
Hi Guys,
Found you through Ross, Smell Great Yarn. Enjoy your chatter. I have a knit night whenever I watch you and others.
BTW years ago I lived in Waterbury and Derby.
Oh small world! We used to live in Shelton 😊
Your fish lips heels look great! Good job!
Thanks! Very comfortable too. I don’t think I mentioned that 😊
Hi Kevin and Ray! I’m Charlotte, Fat Wool Co. It was fun playing bingo, and I’m glad you like the project bag! I enjoy your podcast very much, see you in a fortnight!
Hi! Honestly, the quality of that bag is amazing! Thank you 😊 and see you in a fortnight 🤣
As for the thunder shirt, we may be in the same boat...ah well 🤷♂️🥰🥰
I like to hear ya'll chat, your podcast are never to long. I'm always happy when I see ya'll have another podcast up.
Aww thank you! We are just chatty people..haha 🤷♂️😊
I love Ross’s Adam dishcloth pattern but I agree that it looks so much better with a solid color yarn.
I just finished the Adam dishcloth and I completely agree 😊
Loved the glimpse of Tarquin. What a cutie!
Thanks Tyanne!
Hey Paul! So glad we could help a little with the mojo 😊 We are very excited to see your sweater!! Fingering weight for your first sweater!!! Omg 😳
Peace,
Mike
Good for you! Stubbornness could be a great thing sometimes..haha. We would love to see the progress of the sweater if/when you start it 😊. The group from A Likely Yarn is open to everyone and she has the link to the zoom meeting on the website www.alikelyyarn.com
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast Thanks again! Will keep you posted but
may have to check in with you to figure out how to share progress on the eventual sweater. I'm a dinosaur with some computer stuff....Thanks for the information on the Zoom meeting. Hope to attend on Saturday. Best wishes!
One of my favorite podcasts. You guys Rock!!!!
Thank you Juanita.
I had a mug that did that when I was little and I thought it was MAGIC!!!! I'm the exact same way with books, that's why I like trilogies👍 The look on Ray's face every time Kevin says dislike or thumbs down😝 I love you guys💜
Kevin had an idea of using likes and dislikes as like a “voting” option....It gives me anxiety!! Hahah 🤣. Love you right back 😘
Yay!!! I can hear you.
I had a pup that looked like yours.
They could have been twins.
Her name was Forever Me Amore. (Forever My Love)
Because I always wanted a pup and I got my first one when I turned 18. (Many years ago.)
My current pup, Mona Lisa ( a rescue originally named after a New York Housewife), loves all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Especially watermelon.
Aww, such great names!! Thanks for coming by to hang out with us for a bit 🤗😊
Another fabulous podcast! Ray, have you looked at a sewn bind off for toe up socks? It leaves a neat, stretchy and non-flaring edge.
No, I’m going to look at it though. Some other people have suggested the same thing...I’m not a sewer so hopefully it’s not that crazy lol 😂
No worse than the Kitchener stitch 🤣
Happy Blessed Birthday Kevin!! Awesome podcast. Sound quality was perfect. Continue to chat away. I like the company especially in this crazy pandemic world we're living in right now. Until next time Namasté. 🙏🏽💜💜🙏🏽
Thank you so much! Glad the sound was better and you enjoyed hanging out with us 🤗
The audio is perfect! Thanks! Belated happy birthday Kevin. 😉
Thank you Deb.
Smart with both the knots or yarn overs on the swatch. Nothing worse than not being able to remember the needle size. Right now I pin notes to my swatches, but the knots are much less cumbersome
Hi Tyanne! That was one of the best tips that I have seen for swatches.
Happy Belated Birthday Kevin!
Thank you!
LOL 😂
I look forward to every other Saturday so I can watch your podcasts. You are real and genuine. 😀
Thanks Tina! We are glad you enjoyed it and that you came to spend some time with us 🤗
Enjoyed your podcast. The pup is soooo cute!
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for making my Saturday the best reason to sit and knit. Love you guys.
Aww thanks! We love hanging out with you all! 🥰
Twisties are my favourites (cheese are the superior flavour though)! Fantales are a snack often bought when you go the movies. Lucky guys - Kathy has sent you awesome Australian treats.
We love them all!
Love your podcast. Great to see knitting from a different point of view. Ray, so impressed with the projects you are tackling for a newer knitter. No Fear! Went back and watched your past episodes. Wondering why Ray wasn’t in the first two podcasts?
Luckily our schedules aligned and I was able to join Kevin after the second video. That wasn’t the case in the beginning 😊😉
Shasiko is a kind of Japanese embroidery most commonly done on indigo dyed cotton with white thread. Enjoyed this episode.
Thank you for that info.
Hi guys, you will love Twisties, the cheese are the best also mmm Fantales, you can read all about the movie stars! I have just discovered your blog, it is a pleasure to watch you both. Thank you.
We didn’t notice the little “riddles” and guessing game on each wrapper until we read this! 🤯
You guys need to learn 2 at a time socks. Changed my sock knitting life forever!!
2 at a time is next on the list 😉😊
OMGoodness 😮 did you see “we” are now 3,000+ 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 yay we get a live chat! 🎉
🎉It so amazing!! We will be scheduling a live chat soon :)
I love it.
Thanks so much! I’ll definitely check those out. I loved doing the toe up, but was a little disappointed with the cuff. Glad enjoyed the chit chat 🥰
Have you tried Lori's twisty bind off? I think it works really well-stretchy but minimal flare. ua-cam.com/video/31nfF5pG-8I/v-deo.html
Totally professional...lol 🤣 It’s going to be weird seeing people’s “full face” again 😳🤷♂️
Kevin and Ray I enjoy y’all podcast so much.
Thanks so much Karen! Glad you stopped by 😊
Volume is excellent. You are doing an excellent job.
Thank you!
Another great episode guys. Appreciate all you do. Chatty is good and thank you for highlighting so many great makers.
Hi Kelley - Thank you for much.
BTW, you are the best babysitters because when I have things to do, I play you on the TV and my son sits and watches you over and over 📺 😆 Adriel knows you by name now and laughs a lot! Hahaha it is great!
Hi Adriel!! Hahah that’s so great! 🤣👋🥰
Hi Guys! Great episode! I haven’t been doing much knitting lately, but I managed to knit on a mitten while watching you. That was crazy they shot off a firework on the middle of the day like that! My dog would be nervous too! See y’all next time. :-)
Oh my gosh I know right?! It’s literally like ALL the time 🥺
Have you thought about knitting a sleeve in the round and use it as your test gauge?
What a great idea! Thanks!
Love the banter. You guys always make me smile. Have a wonderful day
Thanks so much!
That sounds amazing, we totally will.
Hello neighbors! I grew up in Trumbull but currently live in Bridgeport. Love your podcasts. I mainly cross stitch but have tried knitting a couple of times.
Well hello there neighbor!!! 🤗
Hi Guys, great shows. Loving more male presence in the knitting world. And it’s Margaret “Cho”, the OG Asian comedian.
Chatri - Thank you for that, I totally couldn't remember her last name.
I am a binge watcher. I can hear you so much better.
Sashiko (I hear it pronounced SAH-shi-ko) is a form of Japanese embroidery. You usually see big stitches in white or light thread on a dark blue background. I assume the color is because the blue of the yarn looks like the blue background in Sashiko embroidery.
Thank you for that information, we will have to look it up.
Bringing a smile at a well needed time yet again 🌍👍🇦🇺
Hi Lynda - Thank you for watching, we are so happy to hear we got you to smile.
Another great episode. Always fun to hang out with you two. Seeya in a fortnight :)
Glad you enjoyed it.
I love dishie kitchenette! Reminds me of autumn and halloween
It is such fun colors.
Thank you for the etsy shop just ordered the towel for my college bound granddaughter. Love your podcast
Hope you enjoy it!
I just finished my first ever Flax, I made the baby size to get the idea of the pattern and enjoyed it very much, I hope to make the adult size as soon as I decide what yarn to use x Love from the UK
I just cast mine on last night! I think it’s going to be a really fun knit 😁
I love watching you both love seeing more guys knitting 😊
Thanks! We are so happy you enjoyed it and we love seeing the guys in this community! 😎✌️
Kenai is a peninsula in Alaska. Pronounced KEE-nye, if the crew on cruise ships are to be believed. ;) Gorgeous colour!
Thanks Wendy! I just knit it up and totally love the color 😊
Yalls microphone challenges are my lighting challenges. 😂😂 Great episode guys, glad you were able to spend some time with family and friends. I think Sashiko refers to a type of traditional dyeing or embroidery technique in Japan.
Haha the struggle is real sometime lol 😂
My first time here. Really enjoyed it. Just starting my channel, will watch you guys more!
Welcome! So glad you stopped by and that you enjoyed hanging out with us 😊
New subscriber ☺️ I started using 9”circulars for the first time yesterday and I’m loving them! I’m using Addi Sock Wonder 2.5mm and I’m converted. Keep up the great work guys 👍🏼
Welcome! So glad you popped in! I was soooo close to casting on socks last night with the 9 inch. I cast on a sweater instead..lol
Kenai: a peninsula in Alaska and a national park. Pronounced kee nigh (like high). I love your podcast - thanks!
Awesome! Thanks so much, we love learning new things! An Alaskan cruise is on our wish list :-)
You should try kay Jones' Umbrella Socks pattern. The last 4 pair I've knitted were that pattern. Love it, and I made mine shorties. They fit great.
Oh great suggestion! Thanks 😊
Yay! Thanks 😊 Now that you mention it, we might have done something similar in high school too...🤔
Kay, The Crazy Sock Lady, is running Summer Sock Camp and has posted three really great tutorials, including socks on 9 inch circs. Do it!! Love your podcast.
I started watching her tutorials in the Summer Sock Camp. Camp Counselor Kay...lol
Sound quality perfect...thanks so much for trying out the new set up it makes so much difference. ..love to you both. X
Great to hear! Thank you for watching.
Happy birthday, Kevin ❤ The YT channel 10 Rows a day, has a video with 3 stretchy bind offs, and I think, she shows the trick to 'Jennys...' so it doesn't stretch so much... oh, and Im absolutely in love with the bag Kevin won!
Oh awesome! Will definitely check it out! Thanks 😊
Happy birthday Kevin great podcast as always
Thank you Joan.
Great show guys! Love your puppy, what's his name? He's a big yorkie. My daughter has one that weighs five pounds. Have a great week!
Hi Sharon. His name is Tarquin, named after a character from Anne Rice. He is about 15lbs.
OMG! I love Beaver Nuggets! So addictive! 😂
OMG Lynne they were so good.
Good advice. Although there is something to be said about a fun and wacky pair of mismatched socks too 😆😃
:)
Happy Birthday Kevin! Have you seen the Spring Thing shawl by Espace Tricot? It calls for 1 skein of fingering and 1 mini. And I love a good long chatty knitting podcast.
Awesome! Will check it out, thanks! So glad you enjoyed our chatting 🤗
Stay safe. 😀
Thank you. That's really good to know, I got gauge before blocking :)
THundershirt was a fail for my boxers as well. I now give Benadryl starting in the morning and they are a little sleepy. If the dogs are frightened by fireworks
it's really hard to do much for them but stay home, keep them inside and don't make a big deal about it. If you act like its normal they seem to be less upset.
Thunder is another my dog was terrified of.
Hi Jan - Yeah the more normal we act the better he is it seems. He also loves the be held :)
The hat pattern that Pat made is a free pattern. I am going to make it too.
I’m adding it to my library as well 😊
You guys are so awesome together! Love this podcast ❤️. I’m suggesting you look at the new Steven West shawl called Lava Lamp. It’s a stash buster. Uses 5 colors! Happy birthday Kevin! ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t think I’ve seen that one yet. Will definitely check it out 🥰
I want to thank you for this podcast.
