A friend of mine walked past a neglected dog everyday that tied in a yard, far from the house. This was in Minnesota and it's gets well below zero in the winter. One day he knocked on the door and told the guy "I'm taking your dog." and the guy was like ok. That dog never left my friend's side, he didn't need a leash, and lived a good 10 years, loved.

There was a cat locked in. It was in a stinking mess with no food, it's owner kept going away and leaving it for a week or two!. The owner had her children taken away for abuse and neglect. People were posting food through the door for the cat. The skinny cat scratched at the window. Some workmen accessed the flat for repairs they were overcome with ammonia and upset at the poor cat and it's mess all over. The owner kept getting visits from the RSPCA called by the workmen. They gave "advice", the owner said they would do better but they never did and left it again. People were posting food again. One day the police visited questioning if I knew who had broken in next door. I didn't know anything. They asked to see my CCTV it had been switched off! Kevin the cat "renamed after Home Alone" sent a postcard and photo! He is living his best life in a large house, with lots of cuddles, treats and a fluffy bed & toys!! ... Mission accomplished !!

They are talkers….. I had one and she always had to have that word, she kayaked, hiked and did everything with me. I once had ranger at a State Park camping, come up to me regarding a growling dog, then met her and it was fine. She was the best home protector ever…. That growl meant “there is nothing to see her” keep on going….. She also never had 1 dog fight or any aggression, sweet to kitties and small dogs, kids.

@@felinelvr27 It's so odd to me, I absolutely expected constant talking and singing, when I adopted a Husky-Samoyed mix. I've had her for 6 months, and have probably heard her say something about once a week on average, unless it's in her sleep. THEN she can bark. She's the quietest dog I've ever had! The tiniest bit disappointed, actually, I was quite looking forward to having a dog that would answer me when I talked to it, lol.

I grew up with about 40 Siberian Huskies in my backyard and two liters of puppies every spring once I was old enough to carry a bucket of water it was my job to take care of all of them all summer long that meant getting up at 7:00 in the morning and feeding the two mothers of the two litters of puppies that were very close to the house actually I could hear one of the mother's crying because she knew she was going to get fed and then the other dogs the other adult dogs were put up way up into the woods because we had no shade where they were and we didn't put boxes up there they dug huge holes in the dirt and they love laying in that dirt and there was a stream up there that I could damn up and get nice great water for them I would clean up around them every day I'd give them clean water every day and if somebody spilled their bucket of water they got another bucket later on and once the puppies were weaned the two litters will put together and we put them way up a hill half of a mountain I guess you'd call it and it was a huge pen and we put them all in there and it was difficult for me to feed them because I had a long walk to go and I would have pans of food for them and in the morning they got hot food which I cooked in my mother's stove and they were all waiting for me and I would count every one of them to make sure they were all there and then the rest of the litters I would make sure that they got in on the food because usually they get knocked away by the other dogs or the other puppies, our dogs and puppies were well cared for and we loved all of them especially one that meant a lot to me his name was Timmy of gat now and he was my father's lead dog when he would go racing he started racing when he was 10 years old in Canada and then when he went to veterinarian school his father sold all the dogs and then when he got married to my mother my mother claim that she knew nothing about any dogs at all haha he got her on that one I guess. So glad these owners gave up the dog I think it is so cruel for someone to do that to an animal and as far as I'm concerned they should never ever own another animal again, have a good life Joey!!!

I had two Twins, black and white looked exactly like Joey! Then I went back and got his Sister. Their Sister , the last in the litter was Solid White. I had a big nice home for them to come in anytime they wanted. But only 2 acres for them to play and run.
They were diggers, so I had a 8 ft. Chain length fence put up around the entire property. Also electric wire buried deep around the entire place. They knew it was there, so they never got zapped or hurt. I went to another town, and found 3⃣ more Solid White Huskies.
They had tons of toys, and they loved their swimming pools. I fed them very nutrious food.
They were all so happy and Beautiful. I still miss them everyday. My Vet , I trusted after 25 years got sick, and sold his practice.

Seeing Joey growling like that suddenly without a reason is very alarming, but I can also see the potentials in him. He is still somewhat good enough that he would stop when Lee told him "enough" and eventually calmed down. That alone is pretty amazing given how he has been neglected in the backyard. Snow won't harm him given that he has double coats if there's a shelter, but the darn rainy seasons in Oregon can be dreadful for sure.

Lee the dog whisperer. Joey knew from the second he met you that his life was going to change. That’s why he’s so eager leave with you. He can smell the happiness in your truck from the the other happy pack. Thank you so much for what you do.
