Apparently Nickelodeon and Disney doing this was actually on purpose! The clothing styles according to the actors were extremely uncomfortable and hot on set, but the style was meant to grab the attention of children and have something that would remind them ONLY of those two channels

And I was like "I have some cute and fashionable clothes" And he's like: "I hope it's not a camisole under a t-shirt, because layering clothes doesn't mean it's cute" Needless to say, that was what I was talking about, and we didn't go on the date.
I was a kid who thought this was very stylish and cool and i would dress up like this when I'm a teen 😂 (im non American so this was what I thought how teens dressed like) 😂
