I am getting my 2 year son assessed soon and I am excited to start getting him the help he needs! I can’t wait to see his progress. Thank you for easing my anxiety!
I’m trying to decide if I want to go into speech language pathology and this is so extremely helpful. I’m glad I discovered you channel. What a cute little boy, and you are just great with him! :)
My daughter’s pediatrician just referred her for Early Intervention Speech Therapy, 18 months old. She babbles like a baby still. I’ve heard 10 month old say more. This was definitely helpful
This was good to see, but it would have been nice to know the results. Is this normal toddler reactions/speech or not? Maybe say what you were looking for during each part of the assessment.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the account password. I love any help you can offer me
@Jaxson Kai Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
My three year old doesn't like engaging strangers, how can this effect an evaluation? I watched him practice alphabet flashcards with his grandmother, he wouldn't answer her without my wife encouraging him to. He is most verbal with my wife and I but rarely speaks in complete sentences.
You are a wonderful early language therapist! As a fellow SLP, it’s fun to see someone else’s techniques and ideas. What formal language assessment battery do you use for your toddlers?
What is the difference between delayed developed w/receptive language but only says two or three words and autism w/no receptive language and not saying any words??
I'm concerned that my grandson may have some delays in speach. I've made my concerns known to my daughter. They still have not gotten an assessment. I fear that he is going to lose out on early intervention if they don't address his challenges. How do I help them see that he may benefit from early intervention?
My son just turned 17 months and only saying mama and Dada. He mimics what I'm doing when I play with him, I play with him lot's and repeat words we use everyday, he understands when I ask him to pick up his toys and some other instructions. I'm just wondering if I should be very worried?
@@WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy Thank you. I just watched that and he does have most of those signs :( I'm going to keep trying the techniques from your videos for a little while and If nothing is improving I'll reach out to a Speech Therapist :)
My son doesn't say yes or no he understand things...if I ask for something he just get excited to grab the thing but didn't reply that he wanted or not
Some individual one-on-one work with him might be helpful, asking him to say yes before you hand over the item. I have tons of free videos on my youtube to help with a few small things but if you are looking for a step-by-step guide on exactly what to do then look into my online course for parents called "How to Teach a Toddler to Talk." school.walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/
Hey! I am an SLP student. I don't have much experience yet. In this video, you observed taking turns and playing symbolic games. What other skills did you observe? What did you note in your notebook? Do you have a checklist about it? Thank you :)
I wish you were my grandsons speech therapists he lives in Oceanside CA, he had it for awhile then it stopped , why? No idea now starting up again next week
Hi there, I work with children that are located in CA. Where are you located? Also feel free to check out my free guidebook here walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/emaillist/

Ok this video makes me a little less worried. My baby is 13 months and plays and sounds like this.

Hi there... I hope this is not inappropriate to ask but how old was that precious baby in the video?
Just under 2 yrs
How old do they start with the eval?
Hi! The youngest I've evaluated is 15 months.
Also , is a speech therapist the one who recommends an autism evaluation? Is this how all speech therapy goes? My daughter doesn’t tell me much
An professional who is working with a child an has concerns can bring up the subject of a eval
I’m in San Diego too 🙌🏻🤗 how can we get an evaluation?
Hi! email me at therapy@walkietalkie.education
How old is this little one? This is like watching my son! I suspect my son has asd but maybe not? My son is 19 months so still young.
Hi! Thanks for watching. Seek an assessment if you haven't! and watch my videos on Autism ua-cam.com/video/uko2yKA6xmw/v-deo.html
How many sessions in a week would u recommend?
It is really dependent on the child and what the delays are. During the evaluation they will offer a recommendation on number of sessions.
